yesterday i bought some bread from cobs on the danforth. i bought 3 sourdough rolls and one small italian baggette. the rolls and italian bread are like cement. i was trying to cut a roll and the knife slipped because the roll was so hard i cut my finger. never again will i buy from them, i will take my business across the street to DOUGH. i cant believe this place is still in business read more

So I really have to admit liking this place. Generally I try to stay away from chain businesses (esp restaurants) but I make an exception with Cobs. There are other locations around the city but this is the one that I like to go to. While I try to stay away from most carbs, white flour, sugar and dairy, there are items here that I can eat, that are healthful and tasty! My main go to is the Cape Seed Loaf! Though it's not low in calories, it is dense with nutrients, very high in fibre (28%!) and in iron (25%) - which for me is good, because I'm anemic. Cobs Bread is a very tempting stop that is hard to avoid while you walk through the Annex along the north side of Bloor. With dozens of tempting bread varieties, as well as specialty pastries and desserts, sometimes you just need to pop in and see what they have that day. My very favorite offering at this location is their cinnamon rolls. Which brings me quickly to my next point, which is their great customer service. If you want an iced roll and there are only non-iced ones left, the helpful staff will whisk it away and slather it up for you without a second thought. The bread itself, including savory cheese rolls and other flavored rolls, are some of the best you can get in the area. And with so many different things to try, you may need to make a stop or two. Cobs always has something up front in the clear lucite "sample box" whether it be sliced up raisin bread to try or something new that they want you to try. The staff will occasionally toss in an extra scone to round out your order, or offer you a taste of something that's not out on display already. Cobs Bread at Hurontario/Eglinton Mississauga, where I have been their customer for years now. I don't go to any other Bakery. They have a great selection of daily freshly baked all kinds of breads, a variety of pastries and snacks, Cinnamon Buns with icing. I absolutely love their white Vienna/Sesame bread. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I always place my order for a number of loaves at a time for pick up. If I ever have any complaints or concerns about the breads not fully and properly baked, I do not hesitate to tell them and they are ready to listen and are very understanding and do compensate for it. I had the opportunity to speak with their Owner, AMANDA who was so gracious, understanding and pleasant to talk with about my concerns. She instructed the Baker to ensure that baking is fully done. However, she re-sent my order through her Store Manager ORIANA who was also very pleasant and was kind enough to deliver them to me. I cannot thank enough both AMANDA and ORIANA for their understanding. This is my Bakery for all my needs and don't go anywhere else. Only I wish they would start making Gluten Free Bread for which my children have to go elsewhere. read more

The service was brat and I might try this place again. It is worth trying out, but the bread I bought today didn't seem as fresh as I had hoped. It was probably baked a day or two ago. I absolutely love cobs bread. Everything is always so fresh and tasty. All there baked goods never disappoint. The service is also very good here at this location. They are always so nice and friendly and really are patient with their costumers. I know with me I am so indecisive when I go there( too many amazing things to choose from) it takes about 15 minutes for me to pick a couples things but they are so patient and let me take my time. The service and the baked goods keep me coming back. I'll be a loyal cobs bread customer for ever! read more

The danishes are better than Tim Horton's... Their hot cross buns very good but with dirty crunchy raisins... switch to sun maid bulk ... I think those are clean... On a side note... cute staff... can I take your picture?? I just moved to Toronto and am trying to find the right places to buy my groceries. I have bought bread twice here now and don't plan on stopping. Tried two different kinds of whole grain bread. Great bread, but they often close before they're supposed to. They state that they close at 9:00, by I have gone to buy some bread around 8:30-8:45 after I'm done work and they've already locked the door! The employees inside just look at me and shrug! I needed a snack to fuel my sightseeing so I stopped in for a bit of bread at this chain. It's a nice looking shop and the service was friendly but the bread is very disappointing; it was flavorless and dry. I ate about half of my roll before tossing the rest out. read more

Lately I've been on the lookout to take my bread buying to some local bakery, so Cobs was on my list of places to try. I got cape seed bread (thanks to referrals here) and pumpernickel bread, and tried fruit chia loaf. All are very god. Cape seed loaf is really full of good stuff and fills you up. Pumpernickel is tasty. The way I love it, and I am definitely coming back for chia fruit bread. The service is friendly and fast, a great place overall. read more

Beware if you are buying butter tarts because they don't donate them at the end of the day like their site claims but keep them for days to sell. I bought some at Waterloo, Ontario store today (Tuesday) and they were made this past Saturday with a best before date of tomorrow. I went into the one on Danforth and Broadview, bought 2 loaves whole wheat bread, 2 multi- grain , 4 scones, 2 choc and 2 choc-banana the best I've ever had the problem is finding one close to where I live, that was an appt I had to go to . I love that chewy crust. read more

I am a pretty big fan of this bakery and the Annex location usually has the best cinnamon buns out of all the locations. ( a good amount of cinnamon gooey filling) The Cin buns at the Bayview location hardly have any cinnamon filling which disappoints. read more
