More fried seafood! Yup, that is cape cod ha ha. But this place is clearly very popular since they have a huge parking lot, and there is almost always a line of some sort either waiting for fried seafood or waiting for ice cream, which I think is the theme of cape cod if you don't bring stuff to grill yourself! But this place I feel is a little pricier than some of the other places, especially for what you get. I think that JTs up the street is definitely a little more affordable and it seemed a little fresher too. Their huge outdoor patio/deck is pretty nice to be able to sit in and they also offer a few types of sauces for your dipping pleasure, but after seeing our bill for our fried oysters and fries it was definitely more money than a person on a student stipend likes to spend. And I am all about spending what little money I have on good food, but I wish this place hadn't been quite so pricey....Oh well. You live, you eat fried seafood at cape cod and you learn! read more

Great stop for an easy lunch or bite on the Cape! We were driving by and hungry so this was an impulse stop and so glad we did! Hubs loved the traditional New England Lobster roll and my Large Salad topped with warm grilled shrimp was tasty and just right. Cobie's had the best clam chowder we had on the Cape! Their fish and chips were fresh, perfectly cooked and steaming hot! Personally, I just don't find Cod to be that flavorful a fish so next time I would order a different fried fish. Their soft serve ice cream was really good though the chocolate dip was a bit waxy. We will go back to Cobie's. read more

What Cobie's is: A great place to grab an ice cream, hot dog or burger after the beach with your hungry, grubby kids. What Cobie's isn't: A stellar example of New England culinary achievement. Or even a place to get a decent dinner. Once you embrace Cobie's for what it truly is, you can begin to enjoy it. They still service ice cream sundae's in the plastic batting helmets of major league teams. Who does that?! That in an of itself if worth a stop. The ice cream is always great, actually, this is always my go-to for ice cream in Brewster. The dogs are foot-long and really good, cooked traditionally on a flat-top. The burgers are HUGE and juicy. I couldn't even finish mine... well... after the ice cream the burger was an ambitious choice. I like the feel of this place but wasn't blown away by the food itself. I got the clam strip plate and the clam strips were mostly breading and I struggled to find the clam itself. I got the chocolate and peanut butter soft serve which was great! My boyfriend got the butterscotch and it honestly tasted just like vanilla. read more

Cobies is not on the top of my fried clams list. I have to have at least one clam roll when I make it down the Cape each summer, and these are "ok." Reasonably priced but somewhat salty and the batter while not heavy is heavier than I would like. What they lack in the fried seafood department they make up for in ice cream. The soft serve here is a must-try for me, they have a long list of flavors and each is as delicious as the last. The service can be slow, it's an "order-at -the-window" type place with all outdoor seating, very Cape. read more

Cobie's has been my go-to snack shack since the 70's, while camping at Nickerson State Park. My favorites are the Clam strip roll or the Cheeseburgers. Although this year the burger looked like a frozen pattie, it was still good. And the fries were good too. The covered picnic area is nice and cool. There is also a couple decks in back with tables too. Parking in front and back make it easy to get a space. read more

I had lobster roll, delish w minimal dressing; husband had best bang for the buck w salmon sandwich special, $7.95 for actual fillet, not breaded patty. The corn salad was crisp and fresh, the generous serving of clam strips tender and tasty. I like the cocktail sauce w its zingy proportion of horseradish. Whether on vacation or just in the mood to take a ride down to the cape to eat at Cobies. This is "not your average clam shack"..Cobies offers a variety of delicious seafoods, burgers, chicken as well as icecream and in my opinion is worthy of six stars. There are better places to eat in the area, but we find ourselves wanting to eat at Cobie's each year. Their fried onion rings are good. We ordered warm lobster roll, grilled scallops, sweet potato fries and my brother in law had some fried clams with fries. The fries clams were lightly battered and very tasty. Sweet potato fries were so yummy. They were all very good and we cleaned off our plates. We stopped here while camping at Nickerson. We heard it was dog friendly which we really liked. Ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich was a nice surprise since a lot of entrees were fried. Really cute seafood shack right on the bike path in Brewster. The lobster rolls were fresh- although no toasted bun and I have had better elsewhere. The sweet potato fries were great. Perhaps it's because it's a high volume place in the summer but even the cole slaw and tartar sauce are mediocre at best. I really wanted to like Cobie's. I am half way between Cobie's and Kate's Seafood. Only good things to say about Kate's. Here are my issues with Cobie's. Everything I have had so far has been undercooked. Kids nuggets were raw inside. Cheeseburger was rare. Asked for medium. (Strange pickle rules too. They said pickles only for items that ate not to-go. Would make bun soggy.) Hot dog also undercooked. Fries soggy. Here's what also bothers me. You cannot order your ice cream where you order food. You have to go to another line for that. The food window takes ATM but not ice cream window. Confusing and out of touch with how people pay today. I do like that they have generous parking and many nice tables with umbrellas or other shade covering. The place was very clean. So back to Kate's. read more

We only went here for ice-cream this evening, so I can't speak about the food. My guess is that it can't be any worse than the other seafood shack down the road. My family of five ordered both hard ice-cream and soft-serve. I went with a classic -- chocolate on a sugar cone -- and the scoop was so large that the teen girl working the counter put it in a cup with the cone sticking out of the top. Boy 1 got the coconut flavor and said it was great; his scoop was also too large for his cone (a happy problem when you're out for dessert). Boy 2 had peanut butter swirl, Little Girl got butterscotch soft-serve. Both were very happy. I can't recall what Mr. Man ordered, only that he couldn't finish it. For $2.75 per cone, we essentially got double scoops of ice-cream, the best deal I've gotten anywhere. We ate our cones outside at one of the many picnic tables, at least until the mosquitos sent us on our way. One quibble: the girl at the counter did not wrap a napkin around Little Girl's soft-serve cone, grabbing it with the same bare hands she was using to handle money. The hard-serve cones come pre-wrapped with paper. Thankfully, LG gave up on finishing before she got to the cone, but it's just one of those breaches of hygiene that give me a bit of the willies. Just a heads-up to my germ-fearing friends out there. One star off for that, but four stars for the huge amount of ice-cream we got for the money. read more
