REVIEW UPDATE: This place is always popping in the summer and serves really tasty fried seafood! I recently stopped by with my girlfriend and we had quite the appetite and got the Fisherman's platter (or something like that) which was a mix of fried scallops, fish, shrimp, and other shellfish. This time it was phenomenal and not greasy whatsoever!!! You get the best of everything! After scarfing that down completely we had just enough room for ice cream which is conveniently a window around the corner from the kitchen ordering window. My girlfriend got the special of the day which was a fruit infused one with chocolate jimmies on it. I went with the classic coffee flavor. We both fell in love and eating here was a perfect way to closeout a busy day of exploring the Cape. Full to the brim, we reluctantly left but were so pleased Cobie's still delivers a quick bite that isn't overly greasy or lacking in flavor. I cannot wait until next summer to return to this gem on Cape Cod. read more

Pretty good. The lobster roll was really fresh but it needed more mayo and seasoning. Onion rings were good. Fries were good. Prices pretty good for the cape (though I'd prefer a jumbo lobster roll size). The service was really friendly and there was plenty of seating. read more

More fried seafood! Yup, that is cape cod ha ha. But this place is clearly very popular since they have a huge parking lot, and there is almost always a line of some sort either waiting for fried seafood or waiting for ice cream, which I think is the theme of cape cod if you don't bring stuff to grill yourself! But this place I feel is a little pricier than some of the other places, especially for what you get. I think that JTs up the street is definitely a little more affordable and it seemed a little fresher too. Their huge outdoor patio/deck is pretty nice to be able to sit in and they also offer a few types of sauces for your dipping pleasure, but after seeing our bill for our fried oysters and fries it was definitely more money than a person on a student stipend likes to spend. And I am all about spending what little money I have on good food, but I wish this place hadn't been quite so pricey....Oh well. You live, you eat fried seafood at cape cod and you learn! read more

What Cobie's is: A great place to grab an ice cream, hot dog or burger after the beach with your hungry, grubby kids. What Cobie's isn't: A stellar example of New England culinary achievement. Or even a place to get a decent dinner. Once you embrace Cobie's for what it truly is, you can begin to enjoy it. They still service ice cream sundae's in the plastic batting helmets of major league teams. Who does that?! That in an of itself if worth a stop. The ice cream is always great, actually, this is always my go-to for ice cream in Brewster. The dogs are foot-long and really good, cooked traditionally on a flat-top. The burgers are HUGE and juicy. I couldn't even finish mine... well... after the ice cream the burger was an ambitious choice. I won't stop coming here in the summers, and from the looks of it, neither will anyone else on the Cape. read more

Great outdoor seafood place in Brewster. Clams ( no not strips!) were sweet and light. The shrimp was very good. Clam platter for daughter was very good portions. Nice French fries. Good sharp cocktail sauce. All the portions were good. Prefer Cole slaw as a creamy dressing but still a very good dish. Service was very good and pretty speedy for a Friday afternoon. Nice deck levels with solid tables and umbrellas. Plenty of shade on a sunny day. read more

Stopped for a quick lunch. Probably not the best selection - crabmeat roll. Should have gone for something much less healthy - like everybody else! That said, it did exactly what it said on the tin. Will go back but will definitely try one of the coronary specials next time. read more

Solid. It's that simple, friendly employees, good food, reasonable prices, I would recommend it slightly over JT's (a similar place also in Brewster) If I had to recommend something it would be the lobster roll, very tasty And for desert I would recommend the brownie sundae. read more

This is the best place on the Cape for quick seafood, a burger, and ice cream. In the summer, the lines can be long but they have an efficient system to accommodate the hungriest visitor. This place is a basic burger, fish spot but the difference is that everything is fresh and lightly prepared. Another plus is that it is right of of the CaPe Cod Rail Trail in Brewster right before you get to Nickerson State Park. This place is definitely worth a stop with you family. The quality is excellent and the service is efficient and very friendly. There are lots of outdoor seating and there is sun protection so you won't bake on a really hot day. Very clean restroom out back and the prices are reasonable compared to some of the spots further up the Cape Cod Rail Trail. read more

Cobies is not on the top of my fried clams list. I have to have at least one clam roll when I make it down the Cape each summer, and these are "ok." Reasonably priced but somewhat salty and the batter while not heavy is heavier than I would like. What they lack in the fried seafood department they make up for in ice cream. The soft serve here is a must-try for me, they have a long list of flavors and each is as delicious as the last. The service can be slow, it's an "order-at -the-window" type place with all outdoor seating, very Cape. read more

I finally have the chance to try this place. I wish I had did it early. Love the fried seafood n chowder . If you're around the area, you must come here. read more

A wide selection that extends way beyond the lobster roll. The salad was delicious, we gorged on their fresh box of shrimp. But the lobster rolls are notable too, with the perfect amount butter and the rolls were amazing, too. Everyone loved the Cape Cod chips that come with, and the ice cream, while not homemade, was delicious. A don't-miss Cape spot. read more

Great stop for an easy lunch or bite on the Cape! We were driving by and hungry so this was an impulse stop and so glad we did! Hubs loved the traditional New England Lobster roll and my Large Salad topped with warm grilled shrimp was tasty and just right. Now we have to come back for the Ice cream we watched every one enjoying! read more

Had lunch here today. Lobster roll (17.95) and whole belly clam roll (15.95). Both very good and worth the price. Plenty of parking but the spaces in front are very narrow. Fold your side mirrors. read more

Best fried clams in the area. Reasonable prices and consistently good food. Generous portions (one clam plate easily feeds two!). The ice cream is a nice treat. Cones are very reasonable. Gave up on JT's ... They used to be good but started skimping on their portions. read more

Cobies is the place to eat if you are in Brewster or any place on the cape. We have frequented here for years. Whether on vacation or just in the mood to take a ride down to the cape to eat at Cobies. This is "not your average clam shack"..Cobies offers a variety of delicious seafoods, burgers, chicken as well as icecream and in my opinion is worthy of six stars. Personally, I love the lobster salad..my kids eat up the chicken fingers and burgers! Always clean, always a friendly family atmosphere with great service! You'd be a fool to pass it by on your drive down 6A. Robin L. read more

Cobie's had the best clam chowder we had on the Cape! Their fish and chips were fresh, perfectly cooked and steaming hot! Personally, I just don't find Cod to be that flavorful a fish so next time I would order a different fried fish. Their soft serve ice cream was really good though the chocolate dip was a bit waxy. We will go back to Cobie's. read more

I like the feel of this place but wasn't blown away by the food itself. I got the clam strip plate and the clam strips were mostly breading and I struggled to find the clam itself. I got the chocolate and peanut butter soft serve which was great! My boyfriend got the butterscotch and it honestly tasted just like vanilla. read more

Great New England clam chowder and their seafood platter plenty of parking plenty of seating and fun people nice atmosphere I love this place in coming here for 30 years thanks Colby's read more

Ice cream not worth the trip. Too crowded Parking spaces too narrow. Ice cream fell out of cone. No.

Cobie's has been my go-to snack shack since the 70's, while camping at Nickerson State Park. My favorites are the Clam strip roll or the Cheeseburgers. Although this year the burger looked like a frozen pattie, it was still good. And the fries were good too. The covered picnic area is nice and cool. There is also a couple decks in back with tables too. Parking in front and back make it easy to get a space. read more

We stopped here while camping at Nickerson. We heard it was dog friendly which we really liked. Ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich was a nice surprise since a lot of entrees were fried. Had to stay and get some ice cream of course. Overall food was good, reasonably priced, plenty of places to sit, and dog friendly. read more

Four stars for the nostalgia and location - three stars for the food. We've visited Cobie's for nearly 20 summers. There are better places to eat in the area, but we find ourselves wanting to eat at Cobie's each year. Their fried onion rings are good. Unlike many similar places on the Cape, they accept credit cards. A trip to Cobie's is not complete without ice cream! read more

Stopped here during day trip on Cape Cod Rail Trail. Clam shack, also serves specialty ice cream w wide range of flavors. I had lobster roll, delish w minimal dressing; husband had best bang for the buck w salmon sandwich special, $7.95 for actual fillet, not breaded patty. The corn salad was crisp and fresh, the generous serving of clam strips tender and tasty. I like the cocktail sauce w its zingy proportion of horseradish. Very bright covered eating area full of clean picnic tables, staff friendly and nice. read more

Delicious seafood and a great location. Cobie's is right off the bike trail and across the street from a beach. I always get the fried clam strips and they are fantastic- there's enough for two people. I've never had the ice cream but have heard many good things from friends. read more

We ordered warm lobster roll, grilled scallops, sweet potato fries and my brother in law had some fried clams with fries. The fries clams were lightly battered and very tasty. Sweet potato fries were so yummy. They were all very good and we cleaned off our plates. The four stars is purely based on food quality compared to other similar places and not compared to fine dining. read more

Wow! Cool place! Ice cream mixed with seafood? Score! Only ordered hard serve ice cream but it was good. My family ordered fish and lobster rolls and they were good! Indiana needs this! read more

Cobie's - Blackberry icecream! YUM - Fish & Chips Near Me - Brewster, Massachusetts

Really cute seafood shack right on the bike path in Brewster. The lobster rolls were fresh- although no toasted bun and I have had better elsewhere. The sweet potato fries were great. Service is quick and there are plenty of picnic tables to sit at. The ice-cream window is separate and cash only- good flavor options and nice to have ice-cream after lunch! read more

My wife and I do our annual summer road trips from Oregon. We never miss a chance to stop at Cobies in Brewster MA . The food is plentiful great tasting and priced perfect. Love the multi flavors of soft serve. A true hidden gem on cape cod. Great friendly owner and awesome staff. read more

Lobster roll was super dry, a bit tasteless. Chowder was a bit milky, hardly any clams, and had an odd taste, lemon? Onion rings were undercooked. Such great reviews but honestly not up to Cape Cod standards. read more

We only went here for ice-cream this evening, so I can't speak about the food. My guess is that it can't be any worse than the other seafood shack down the road. My family of five ordered both hard ice-cream and soft-serve. I went with a classic -- chocolate on a sugar cone -- and the scoop was so large that the teen girl working the counter put it in a cup with the cone sticking out of the top. Boy 1 got the coconut flavor and said it was great; his scoop was also too large for his cone (a happy problem when you're out for dessert). Boy 2 had peanut butter swirl, Little Girl got butterscotch soft-serve. Both were very happy. I can't recall what Mr. Man ordered, only that he couldn't finish it. For $2.75 per cone, we essentially got double scoops of ice-cream, the best deal I've gotten anywhere. We ate our cones outside at one of the many picnic tables, at least until the mosquitos sent us on our way. One quibble: the girl at the counter did not wrap a napkin around Little Girl's soft-serve cone, grabbing it with the same bare hands she was using to handle money. The hard-serve cones come pre-wrapped with paper. Thankfully, LG gave up on finishing before she got to the cone, but it's just one of those breaches of hygiene that give me a bit of the willies. Just a heads-up to my germ-fearing friends out there. One star off for that, but four stars for the huge amount of ice-cream we got for the money. read more

I really wanted to like Cobie's. I am half way between Cobie's and Kate's Seafood. Only good things to say about Kate's. Here are my issues with Cobie's. Everything I have had so far has been undercooked. Kids nuggets were raw inside. Cheeseburger was rare. Asked for medium. (Strange pickle rules too. They said pickles only for items that ate not to-go. Would make bun soggy.) Hot dog also undercooked. Fries soggy. Here's what also bothers me. You cannot order your ice cream where you order food. You have to go to another line for that. The food window takes ATM but not ice cream window. Confusing and out of touch with how people pay today. I do like that they have generous parking and many nice tables with umbrellas or other shade covering. The place was very clean. So back to Kate's. read more

The toasted coconut icecream is heavenly :) A kid's portion is generous enough for an adult, and free wifi... Ice-cream is cash only. read more

Food was ok, but wow, it was pricy. Felt like they were taking advantage of vacationers, cost 20 bucks for a burger, fries and kids meal. When we got it, it was your pretty basic kind of burger, the same probable frozen patty that these places buy, heat up and throw a slice of cheese on top. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing right. read more

As others indicate if you are looking for the freshest and tastiest fried seafood you will be disappointed. Perhaps it's because it's a high volume place in the summer but even the cole slaw and tartar sauce are mediocre at best. You can find better tasting and fresher seafood at Kate's or Kream n Kone. read more
