    Tofu bowl

Simply not impressed. My mistake was thinking that I should get a lobster roll here. It was a last-minute decision to eat here because everywhere else was booked solid, and you think if a place is on the water, it should have some decent seafood, right? Boy was I wrong. If I could rewind time and not spend money at this place, I would. Let's start with the good, the tofu bowl was large and flavorful. That is about it. Now for the bad, the shrimp tacos had two pieces of shrimp in them, they were mainly lettuce and were not seasoned. 1/5 stars. The lobster roll. When my New Englander friends saw this roll, they laughed, apologized, and insisted that I go somewhere else to try a real lobster roll. I was between the lobster roll and a burrito, but since this place was on the water, I wanted to go with the seafood option that wasn't fried. I have now learned from this mistake. The lobster was rubbery, as mentioned in a different review. Lackluster in presentation, and the bun was soggy by the time I got it. Total wait time: 25 mins for the lobster roll, closer to 45 mins for the fish taco and tofu bowl. Mind you, this was on a Saturday night, so I understand that they were probably busy. But their pick up station is so disorganized and hectic, they are shouting numbers from the window, and you have to fight to the front of other guest waiting in order to pick up your food. Long story short, if you are in Wellfleet, save your time and money and do not visit this place. There is hardly anywhere to sit, and the service and food were very subpar. I would mention the ambience, but there was none. We were there at Sunset so that was a plus. But even after my $32 lobster roll, I was still hungry.

Stopped by this famous joint on a recent friends' trip to Cape Cod. My local friend told me this is like the place to go, and sure enough it was packed even when we went pretty late at night. It's all order outside in a line, and then wait for your order to be called to pick it up. There is a lot of outdoor seating, but it was still hard to get a seat despite that. They offer basically every local fish here and some other specials too. I tried clam strips for the first time and they were delicious, really crispy and a great food to fry. The fried scallops were really good, but scallops are a little too rich to be fried for me, so recommend trying it once, but definitely not a go to for me. The fish and chips were fantastic. It's definitely a family friendly joint, especially with the many choices for ice cream, this place was packed. A fun little stop to go to for anyone!

Sitting by the water is always a 10! Picnic tables so fun. Fish sandwich, lobby roll, crab cake sandwich, poke bowl. All 4/5 but crab. Very small. Overwhelmed by the bread. Not much flavor. Clam strips were yum, though

It's was delicious. Great view. I didn't get utensils so a little hard to eat - didn't go ask line was too long. I understand that the Mac's Shack is great.

This is where I go when the crowds are too big at other restaurants. It's fast and it's reasonably good. It's great to sit outside and see the beach. I've gone about four or five times in the past 10 days. Once I ended up with a burrito when I ordered a quesadilla, and yesterday they ran out of diet Coke (really?). Their chicken quesadilla with refried beans is pretty damn good. Clam strips are ok, you can find better at PJs or the Beachcomber. It's a very good place to bring children. There are plenty of other children around and no one is disturbed. If I really wanted a great meal, I would not come here with all the other choices in Wellfleet. But I do come here when I'm hungry and I don't want to wait. The ice cream is always a good choice.

I ordered the fried calamari. It was a lot flakier than usual and it was a bit hard to eat without accidentally inhaling a flake but the dish was great. I don't love how it was served with marinara sauce but it doesn't hurt the dish. I really loved sitting outside by the beach and enjoying my appetizer with a coke. It was delicious and the view was beautiful. I also appreciate how they allow dogs.

Small portions, smell of diesel fuel, loads of pigeons, 45 minute wait for food. Much better options

I put us on the waitlist for a party of six, and within 15 minutes, we were seated inside their charming outdoor gazebo which was a lovely, romantic setting! Steamed Mussels (5/5): Tender mussels served in a rich, sweet corn cream broth. Flawless dish! Eastham Oysters (5/5): Extremely fresh local oysters, a must-order Little Neck Clams Special (4.75/5): Fresh, sweet clams with a delicious broth that was perfect for dipping Grilled Tuna (4.5/5) & Cioppino (4.25/5): The tuna was lightly grilled to perfection, though the accompanying soy dipping sauce was overwhelmingly salty. The Cioppino served over creamy polenta was packed with fresh seafood. Grilled Octopus (4.5/5): Served over delicious potatoes; slightly chewy in texture and on the smaller side, but full of flavor. Caesar Salad (4.5/5): Crisp, classic, and refreshing. Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice (3.75/5): A decent, crunchy bite. I could already tell that the restaurant knew what it wanted to be when I saw the wall at the left-hand side of the dining room: a mural of a hillside town, lounging cozily between day and night against the crash of the sea. The saturated, uniform hues of the plates also helped establish a faraway yet subdued atmosphere, never once jumping on its high horse to establish excellence. I felt this time that going for a $25-$30-something main dish was too filling for lunch, so I considered myself lucky when I saw that the appetizer menu had several cultural highlights, chiefly the Jamaican peanuts and the jibarito sandwich. It's safe to say I'm not ashamed of either of these choices. The peanuts combined a familiar grainy sweetness with a gentle dollop of spice, topped with a roasted texture that let it melt in my mouth like never before. That's the bee's knees! The jibarito was nice. The messiness of the sandwich made it more appealing, in my opinion. The fact that it was arranged between two giant slices of fried plantain instead of bread gave me a heads-up that this was not just a tried-and-true Caribbean flavor, it was a meal made from the heart. *Crick* *Cruuuunch* Speaking of heart, the staff did a fair job of making our meal memorable. Kindness was a priority when it came to my experience. They didn't mind letting us wait for a guest who was ten minutes late. While the second helping took a bit longer than anticipated despite the venue not being crowded (my party was pressed for time that day), the end result was lovely. If one wishes to demonstrate style in their restaurant, then they ought to combine it with just as much substance; that's what I got during my visit.
