This place is your typical side of the road seafood, burger and ice cream stand on the Cape. It is located steps away from Nickerson State Park and in quiet Brewster on 6A, on the way to Orleans. It is a pretty large place with plenty of parking out back and it is clean and the staff is friendly and fun! The food is everything from fried seafood plates to burgers, sandwiches and plenty of hard and soft ice cream. The food is pretty good and at a decent price you get plenty of it with huge portions. They take cards for regular food but weird they dont take cards for ice cream, but do have an ATM near the window. Good food and the place does get packed so be prepared! read more

I have been coming to Cobie's for as long as I can remember. It's not a trip to the Cape without a quick bike ride or drive down to this classic roadside shack. With easy access from the Rail Trail and Route 6A, it's a perfect place to stop and grab a bite. I've stood by this statement in the past and I do the same now: Cobie's fried clam strip plate is my absolute favorite dish on the planet. The clams are always the tender, the breading always crispy and delicious, and my plate always cleared! Sure, I've had some great gourmet dinners in the past, but nothing is quite as satisfying as chowing down on those strips with family and friends on a summer night. They never skimp on the portions here, which is such good news when the food is this good!!! My only precautions: don't try the lobster roll and wear bug spray! I got an order to go. I had to return to the restaurant two additional times because they didn't get my burger toppings right. I only wanted bacon and mushrooms on a burger. First they forgot the bacon but it had mushrooms. I went back for bacon. The burger they gave me next had bacon but now no mushrooms. Finally it had all the toppings but was cooked incorrectly. I gave up and settled in to eat my now stone cold food only to discover they gave me the worlds worst chocolate milkshake... The sweet potato fries were cold but good... Terrible experience. Cobie's is right off the bike trail which is so amazing because it's possible not to find any stores along the trail for 20+ miles when in need of water or ice cream or some yummy food. Their haddock is so good. Served with fries, coleslaw and all types of sauces. Their crab roll I didn't really like but hey, to each their own. I've also had their smoothies and they're super sweet. I'd definitely eat here again when returning to Massachusetts. read more

We open scene on a cute Cape Cod seafood shack. Classic order at the counter and pick up your food. The rest is downhill. The whole belly clam plate was a catastrophe; the apocalypse of all seafood dishes. Not cooked, oozing out of the fried batter like a freshly squeezed zit. OverPriced Clam Plate. Im from SE Mass, so I know & LOVE fried clams...... I wanted to eat them so bad after paying that amount; but they were bad, plain ol' went bad seafood. After an automatic gag reflex kicked in after the third clam I had to bring them back to the counter to let them know & you know what Cobies did : half price icecream----wow thanks!! I haven't eaten the food at Cobie's too often and typically come here for the ice cream. It's right on the Cape Cod Rail Trail; I have done bike rides to Cobie's for ice cream for as long as I can remember. They serve great ice cream and have lots of flavors to choose from. It's not just nostalgia; my boyfriend agreed that their ice cream was delicious, too. You order at the counter, get a buzzer, and find a picnic table. They have umbrellas to provide shade and a water fountain for tap water. I went for lunch last week and got an egg salad roll, sweet potato fries, and a fruit smoothie to share with my boyfriend. Everything was tasty. I don't think I've ever ordered seafood here, so no comment there. We got a good lunch for a good price and enjoyed it. The only thing I find strange is that they take credit card for food, but ice cream is cash only? It's inconvenient and I don't really understand why. read more

Went to Cobie's last night. We were camping at Nickerson State Park and this place is featured in their literature, and we thought it couldn't be terrible so we tried it. I knew the prices before going in, but after seeing what those prices paid for (..the food..), it is a complete rip off. First of all, SMALL PORTIONS. Second, I've had better food at dirty diners at midnight than I did waiting in line on a Saturday night at Cobie's. My burger was dripping in grease, and mind you, like a little grease, but the bottom bun was soggy and grease was all over the little styrofoam plate. The burgers are supposed to be Angus beef here, but this tasted like it probably started out as Angus beef only to be premolded and frozen in some factory hundreds of miles away, only to be shipped to Cobies. The french fries make burger king look like a great deal. My husband said the coleslaw was OK and his Reuben was nothing special and it wasn't even on Rye. I can only comment on the food because after the disappointment we had we decided to pass on dessert. So if you want to try Cobie's, I'd suggest dessert, but keep in mind their cones range from $3 to $4, and you can definitely find better for less elsewhere on the cape. It would be worth a drive to PJ's in Wellfleet if you're interested in really good food at even better prices (we tried PJ's for lunch, Cobie's for dinner--great comparison, stark contrast). read more

We stopped by Cobie's as part of a bike ride from Dennis en route to Nickerson State Park. In order to motivate ourselves to bike the ten miles back, we decided to grab lunch. The 8 oz. burgers are a solid amount of food for lunch, can't comment on anything else as we stuck to the Swiss Burger and the Mushroom Burger. The food doesn't blow your mind, but it does the trick when you're tired and hungry. Well, for $19.00 my fish and chips and soda were less than impressive. The fish was fresh and flaky, but the batter was thin and falling off my onion rings and fish. Three small pieces of fish, and a small handful of onion rings. Cole slaw did not seem fresh, was very vinegary and mushy. I probably wouldn't come back for the fried food. Soft serve machine is broken today, so I couldn't review the ice cream. read more

This used to be my favorite place for a great char-grilled burger, but then they changed to one of those conveyor-belt things and the burgers are oddly juicy... My friends swear by the foot-long hot dogs and the fries, onion rings and ice cream are still great. Good coal-slaw too. read more

Just picked up a fish and chips......fish was tough and overcooked scallop roll........... nice large portion but under cooked scallops onion rings.........OK, nothing extraordinary clam chowder.......Kettle cuisine out of Somerville.. We went to Cobie's in fairly odd circumstances. We arrived about half an hour before they closed having just left a restaurant because they, like much of Brewster, were without power due to thunderstorms. Although there were 10 of us, the staff at Cobie's did their best to accommodate us. One initial complaint I have is that they were out of lobster. I got a cheeseburger, medium rare with lettuce and tomato. I also got a small fries and a strawberry milkshake. The burger was no worse than I've had anywhere else and while it was definitely not the best I've ever had, I would have it again if I'm in the area. The shake was great and the small fries were the perfect portion for me. Unfortunately, although I got my food quickly, they did forget to give us a couple entrees and shakes. When we inquired as to our food's whereabouts, the staff immediately rushed to fulfill our order and were polite and apologetic about the situation. A little while later, after they had closed up the kitchen, a manager/owner came out to apologize to us and to give us a gift certificate. Normally I would not give five stars to a food service that messed up an order but I understand that it is very difficult to keep track of 10 people's entrees, drinks and sides, especially when the restaurant is busy like Cobie's was. For this reason, the excellent quality of the food relative to the short wait time, and for the professionalism of the staff and management, I have decided to give Cobie's five stars. read more

Maybe their food is great, but we'll never know. we pulled up this evening at 7:40, unaware of the closing time (as we apparently later learned, 7:30) as there were still a few people in line. My wife, two kids and I got in line behind a man with two teenage girls wearing Brewster softball uniforms. The man and two girls told the girl working the window their order, and they got their ice cream. However when it was our turn, the girl at the window simply said "sorry we're closed" as another guy with a sideways baseball cap removed all the menus. I was floored. I pointed to the people that she just helped and asked "you're closed?" Her response was "7:30," and shut the windows. Unbelievable. Yes, I completely understand that although unknowingly, we did arrive past closing. I also am respectful of people's lives and understand that workers have places to be. The manner in which we were treated however was pretty disgusting. Could sideways hat guy or the window girl not politely mention to us that they were closing before we stood in line, and especially before it was our turn at the window? How about not shutting the window in my five year old son's face? One of the main reasons I chose to bring my family to Brewster on vacation was the recommendations of a number of friends who regularly visit this town, and how they specifically described the friendliness of the locals. While we certainly have experienced that every other place we have been so far (such as JT's, Brewster Coffee Shop, Oceans Edge and Snowy Owl) we certainly felt exceptionally unwelcome at Cobie's. We got back in our car, drove down to JT's and thankfully got our perfect dessert treat from an extremely courteous staff. We joked and laughed with a few other local residents, and had a great time. We had dinner at JT's two night before and enjoyed that too, which is what brought us back. We'll be sharing our experiences at both places with our friends, and it should be obvious that neither we nor my friends will ever be back to Cobie's in Brewster for any meal. read more

Must have been a bad night for Emily - we have been a few times and reckon this place is superb. Yes, basic in the sense that you sit outside (plenty of covered space), and should always have a jacket to hand in the evening (this is Cape Cod!) But the seafood is excellent - magnificent fresh fish, and plenty for the money. Kids love the vibrator to let you know when your order is ready. And best of all is the ice cream. Not a huge range of flavors, but good ones, and 'specials' that change. Generous portions, tastes great, and lower-priced than most other places. Very handy for Nickerson Park and the bike trail, too. read more

Cobie's is solid. They do not serve the best fried clams or lobster roll on the Cape (that honor belongs to the Friendly Fisherman in Eastham), but the food is solid and a decent value. It's a great place to stop for lunch or ice cream. read more
