We've done the Savannah Haunted History tour with Cobblestone Tours twice - the first time in July 2019 with Jason, and then again this month, July 2025 with Nicole. Both were fantastic tour guides, knowledgeable about the history of various buildings/homes in Savannah, the people who have lived there, and the spooky experiences at each location. I discovered this company after reading James Caskey's (author and Cobblestone Tours owner) Haunted Savannah book. I prefer tours that are heavily history based and incorporate the ghost stories, rather than the more touristy companies that focus solely on the ghost tales. It was pouring rain with lighting and thunder during our tour this month, which added to the spookiness, but was probably uncomfortable for our tour guide - if I could give extra stars to Nicole I would - thank you so much for still taking us on the tour despite the weather! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would, because our tour never happened. We showed up to the location for the start, only to find that the brewery was closed, we were the only participants there, and had gotten no notice about a potential alternative starting point. I called the tour company and only then did the person tell me the tour was cancelled. He gave me the option of a refund or to choose another night and since our vacation was approaching it's end, we chose the refund. I've been emailing for the past 3 weeks to check on the status of this, since it hasn't happened, and have also called. There has been no response and their voicemail box is always full. There are plenty of other tour companies, so check them out instead! read more

Well - We should have read the reviews better. Planned a trip to Savannah about 6 weeks before we went. We scheduled the 9 pm tour for five of us through the web service. We received an email confirmation and it did not show a date / time so we called. James stated that the web service should not be scheduling 9 pm tours since they don't do them anymore. So - he gave us an option to reschedule and we did for 8 pm that same night. So... we ate and then walked briefly over to a small bar that he stated to meet him at and had a drink waiting. 815 comes along and no James! 5 of us standing out there. We called the number and the voice mail box was full. Both my wife and sister called several times. Finally at 830 James calls. He states that he had a larger group and decided to take them instead ("A" for honesty I guess). He was asked why he just did not call us and tell us that so we could find another tour and.... he had no response. So... I would find another more reliable service or be prepared to be disappointed (my lesson - use the reviews!) read more

The Haunted Pub Crawl was a campy, cute, touristy excuse to go from pub to pub and drink beer. I like beer. In this regard, it was a great success. I actually found some of the stories interesting, like learning that Pour Larry's was once a slave pen. Also, it was pretty cool getting to go to some of the deserted upper stories of some of the buildings. Neat! Walking around Savannah with your tour group while finishing the beer from the last pub is fun in itself. The tour was a satisfying diversion for an evening in the historic district. Sure, most of the stories were not very scary, and some of them were not very convincing, but I have some news for folks who expect a truly terrifying tour: Ghosts are not real. Beer is real. We've been on this tour 3 times. Loved every minute of it. It's more bar crawl than ghost tour but some of the ghosty part can be very interesting. We've had awesome tour guides (1 guy twice). Some really got into it, some were super-campy, and some drank with us. All awesome. I even went on this tour pregnant (and not drinking) and had a blast. Went to some great bars. The best was doing a dillback shot (clear whiskey with a dill pickle juice chaser) with my brother in law. And Molly's for the pear cider. Just go, you'll have fun. My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience on the Ghosts and Folklore tour. A very nice paced tour around the historic district, complete with a pub stop early on to grab your to-go beverage. Every few hundred feet or so, we would stop to learn about another tragic Savannah incident! Our guide, Nicole, was engaging and was willing to answer any questions we had... we did not feel she was in a rush at all! We were with another couple so our total group size was four. I saw some tours walking around with upward of 30 people.... I loved the small group size and interactivity with Nicole. At the end of the tour, Nicole even offered us to a few suggestions to bars she frequents with friends. Tour was scheduled to be 90 minutes but it was closer to 1:45! I met up with Michelle outside of Colonial Cemetary. It turned out that I was the only person who showed up for her tour (probably due to the weather we had that evening). She was able to customize the tour based on my preferences and questions. She clearly wasn't going off a script and had a true passion for the subject matter. Beyond that, she was wildly charming and entertaining. I could have listened to her for hours and was surprised at how quickly the 90 minutes flew by. The stories were grounded in historic facts and painted a picture of what it might have been like to live in Savannah from the late 1700s through the 1800s. Michelle was also kind enough to find places for me to sit comfortably while she shared stories since I am 7 months pregnant- and she walked me back to my Airbnb at the end of the night. I actually came to Savannah for one night just for this tour because I read the Haunted New Orleans book by James Caskey and was intrigued by his interest in Savannah. I'm not sure if I had a different tour guide, or if rain changes the tour at all, but I was fairly underwhelmed. For $10 it was still a great deal to walk around and hear some history and have some great old homes pointed out, I'd definitely do something similar again, but as a ghost tour? Meh. The only creatures I spotted aside from other people braving the rain were a couple of frogs which I promptly bent down to try to catch before realizing that I was on a ghost tour with strangers and not a nature walk with my fellow third graders. I really regret pretending to be grown up sometimes - I'm still wishing I had caught a frog. read more

I only did this tour out of love for my friend who really wanted to go hunting for the undead. It turned out to be such a blast though, including a spooky encounter, a chance meeting with the Mayor of Savannah, and lots of interesting Savannah characters along the way. With the military discount and all, it was only $8 and really worth it. Our guide was this sweet pretty Hungarian girl named Judith who is just spectacular. The tour that night was pretty intimate considering that it was just my friend, Judith and myself, but that made it all the more fun and scary when it was just the three of us sitting in the dark talking about ghosts. It's a must do, considering that Savannah is considered the most haunted city in the US. A lot of bars that we stopped by have also been featured in haunting and ghost hunting specials on the Discovery channel and stuff. We took the haunted pup crawl tour and had so much fun. As you may know, Savannah has no open container law so we all walked with our beers (in plastic cups!) and listened to Jeremy's stories. We went on Sunday night and several of the haunted pubs the tour normally visits were closed (boo) but our guide made up for it. Jeremy was a great story teller and had the whole group on edge during the stories. He even averted a crisis when one drunken tourist on the pub crawl became angry about not getting to visit a certain haunted room in one of the pubs. He was super star! I am always taking visitors on haunted tours around the city and this is by far my favorite. We reserved a spot on the website and brought the $5 off coupon but were told the coupon wasn't really necessary. The #1 reason to do this: history & drinking. Traveling with family means that barhopping options are limited (as in, forget the barhopping, let's sleep at 10pm). I'm a bit unique in my fascination with the paranormal, so I was looking forward to mixing barhop with a haunted twist. Drinking + history was enough to draw me to the Haunted Pub Crawl. Krista was our tour guide, and her quirky sense of humor and fascination with the paranormal coupled with drinking games set us up for a great group. Since I'm a foodie, I'll detail the drinks. Starting with the best: Scorpion Tea at Hang Fire was an excellent mix of ginger beer and whiskey. Much like a 7 and 7 (whiskey and 7-Up), it was a sweet, fizzy drink that was perfect for the night. The Pickleback Shot at O'Connell's is not for everyone, but lovely for me. A shot of whiskey chased with pickle juice -- you better love pickles. The Savannah Flu is a shot of Bloody Mary at the bar next to 17 Hundred 90. Nothing exciting, but love the name and folklore that goes with it. As for ghosts: don't expect spirits, just the ones in your cup. The stories were fun, but the focus is on enjoying the crawl with the motley group of people you're paired with. I guarantee if you start buying shots for the group, you will be repaid in kind -- and have a better tour for it. read more

It appears there are three options for tours; amusement park, ghosts hunters, and historical. If you want flashy, amusement like journey, this is not it. If you seek paranormal experiences and an intense focus on the undead, you may be disappointed. If you want a historical overview of the personality of this city, the charm over the years, and some insight into the tragedy it has seen locally, this tour is for you. My 13 y/o mad I wanted realistic insight into what makes Savannah the most "haunted town" without the hype. We wanted the truth of the locals. We definitely got our money's worth and now have direction on the things we won't to revisit on our 2nd and 3rd days here. Tanner (Tanna) was our guide. She was sweet, delightful, and very knowledgeable of the "vibe" in this area. I've taken similar tours in Gettysburg and in Tennessee. This was a great value and what we wanted. read more

This was our first haunted tour, and since neither of us are paranormal hobbyists, a pub crawl was a nice accompaniment. We went on the 8 pm tour and got an extra hour and bar for free because our guide picked up the 9 pm tour due to the other tour guide calling out. Seems that the tours go to different pubs. Ours went to Moon River, Molly MacPhersons, Hang Fire, 17 Hundred 90, and O'Connells. Moon River was the best, it was the only bar where you went upstairs to the unfinished/"haunted" part of the building. It's pretty cool and creepy up there. The other bars you hear the story outside, go inside and grab some drinks, and then head out to the next destination. Not all of the stories are based in the bars, and you walk around to several sites outside. There's a coupon online, but you don't really need to bring it. Our guide just automatically discounted the admission to $10 a person. Good deal, more money for beer! read more

We've done 3 Cobblestone Haunted Pub Crawl tours in the past few years and always had a great experience. While in Savannah for the 4th this past weekend, we decided to join one on Friday night at the last minute, so we headed over to Molly's for a quick bite before the tour. They split the large crowd into two groups and we were directed to hang out across the street from Molly's for what seemed like quite a while until the tour began. Our guide was either: new, very off her game, or she had had a few too many before she met up with us...or any combination of these. I'm from a family of gregarious Irish storytellers...if you're one of them, the more you drink, the better your stories. She wasn't one of them. Her stories were boring, way too long, she kept losing her train of thought and the more drinks she had, the higher pitched her voice became (and the less we could actually make out what she was saying). I've heard from some genuinely interesting and compellingly recanted stories from previous tour guides, but this guide was really terrible. Not only were her storytelling abilities lacking, but she also had a hard time controlling the crowd. We had a nice group and no one was too rowdy (unfortunately I've seen some unruly people on this tour before). Everyone was into it and enjoying their drinks. When we hit the 2nd bar (Pour Larry's this time) we took about 30 minutes inside the bar (longer than normal) before the guide told us to go hang out outside/upstairs while she rallied the troops. About half the group was waiting outside for (no exaggeration) 30 minutes while our guide was no where to be found. Luckily there was some fun live music on the square, but waiting without a drink got old fast. It took so long that people legitimately thought she took off with the other half of the group and we somehow missed it. Finally someone went back downstairs and found our guide (and the other half of the group) in a rousing game of Jenga. I don't think she was actually the one playing the game (although I didn't see it firsthand), but she was letting it happen. We ended up spending far too long at that shi**y bar while we could have been walking around this lovely city hearing more stories. A more experienced tour guide would have taken control and said, " Ok guys, our time here is up; we're leaving now. You don't have to come along, but if you want to, now is the time." She already had their $15...what did she care if they actually came along or not? The tour used to be $10/pp with the coupon; now it's $15/pp. IMO, it's overpriced and in this case I was very dissatisfied this time around. On a positive note, we ended up at McDonough's and I got to sing some karaoke, so that was cool. Overall, I gave it 2 stars because of our previous positive experiences, but I don't think I'll be back. read more

AVOID the spiked iced tea (forget where this was)....it's almost ten bucks and very over rated. Save your money for the martini place and macphersons. This is a fun, informative tour that typically begins at the Moon River Brewing Company, i.e. the creepiest, most haunted spot in Savannah. This spot alone is worth the tour. I've been on this tour a couple of times, with Alexandra being our most recent guide. She was wonderful, super knowledgeable, and on top of ghost/haunting knowledge, really knew her drinks! The tour is definitely less creepy towards the end - it's more of a pub crawl than a "haunted" pub crawl at that point - but fun nonetheless. Great guide, excellent locations including the ultra scary Moon River and hip Savannah bars, and a reasonable price. This is the best, most well-organized tour of its kind in the area. read more

We did their "Haunted Pub Crawl" tour while on vacation in Savannah. There were only four of us, and as we sat outside of Moon River waiting for our guide she ambled up at exactly 8pm. Our guide, Megan, was dressed in "period" clothing and looked bored out of her mind. The only place she took us that wasn't open to the public was upstairs at Moon River. We stood in one room while she talked on without excitement or inflection. It was cool seeing the upstairs part of this supposed "most haunted building in Savannah" though. From there we went to a few more bars but only into public areas. She talked briefly about the homes we passed and it was interesting- but obviously not to her. With the online coupon the tour was cheap so I guess we can't complain too much. It is great that you can open container your way through historic Savannah but next time I'd try a different tour. read more

My husband and I went on a few tours (two ghost tours) while on vacation in Savannah, and the Candlelight Ghost Tour was the least enjoyable of them all. The price was right, and the tour guide seemed really knowledgeable about the city. She gave us great information about where to park in the city, etc. On the other hand the tour group was so big (and the guide so soft-spoken) that it was really difficult to hear. The stories weren't very exciting. Twice we almost just walked away. I notice many reviews calling this tour intimate - we had A TON of people in our group. Intimate is not the right word for what we experienced. We recommend splurging on a more expensive walking tour. read more

My wife and I just finished the food tasting tour including beer and wine at 5 different restaurants. The tour also included olive oil tasting and we capped the tour with a visit to a chocolate store. The food dishes were pretty generous in size and splendid in flavor. Nicole was fantastic! This past weekend, my fiance and I did the Haunted Pub Crawl which takes you to several bars in the historic district as you listen to ghost stories from your guide. Like some other people on Yelp, we got a discount coupon through the website, so it really wasn't too expensive. In this case, we really got what we paid for. We met outside Molly MacPhersons which was a cool bar. Some of the other bars were OK, but the whole experience just sucked because the stories were not scary or even entertaining. People in the group kept interjecting so it was difficult to hear the guide anyways. You'd think that it would be fun because everyone was drinking, but it just sucked. We just couldn't hang with it the whole time, we were so bored, so we left about an hour into it. I'd recommend that you save your money and just go to the bars on your own and ask the bartenders about the ghosts because it appeared that this is where the guide got her boring stories. read more

I'll start my review by saying the value is OK for what you pay, the 3 stars is more for format of the tour itself. I was in Savannah for a Bachelorette weekend and we did the ghost pub crawl. Our tour stopped at Molly MacPherson's, Pour Larry's, Savannah Tap House (next to the Marshall House), and the 17Hundred90 Inn. I enjoyed the ghost stories, but our group collectively wished that the tour guide told the stories before we went in to each bar as opposed to after, so we could look out for certain details in each bar. I also wish the groups were a little smaller, ours had 20-25 people. It was fine when we were walking and listening to the stories, but became an issue when 25 people tried to order drinks at an already over-crowded bar. We had to wait to get into Savannah Tap House because another tour group was in there. I wish the tour guide had a backup option instead of having our group wait to get in. Overall, the tour was OK, but I wish it had been done in reverse order. Our last stop, the 17Hundred90 Inn, was in a different area than the rest of the bars. It would have been nice to start there and end in the area with more bar/restaurant options. read more

I was really disappointed in this tour. We've done a walking ghost tour in st Augustine and it was such a blast. They took you in multiple pubs and told stories about the ghosts who still haunt it. They would tell you about certain areas and spots in the pubs where haunted activity took place. They gave you a handheld device to detect "energies" while you walked around, which was wildly entertaining. Our tour guide on this tour was great. She was very hospitable and and a good story teller. The content of the tour kinda sucked though. A lot of the stories were from recent years like the 1980s versus the 1880s. We had a great tour. I can't remember the tour guide's name, but she was fantastic. She was obviously really into these different stories, and had lots to share. Our group was small, so there were only about 10 of us walking around, so that was nice. It was a really nice, interesting walk around downtown Savannah, lots of creepy stories, very fun. I booked the Haunted Pub Crawl for a Thursday night for me and my boyfriend. We were the only people that ended up showing up! We were a little worried about how the tour would go, thinking it might be awkward. But we had Norton as our tour guide and it was great! We started at Moon River Brewing. We walked around town and learned a lot about Savannah. Norton was very knowledgeable about the city and it's history. He made it "our tour" since it was just the two of us. He is a wealth of knowledge about Savannah history and is honest about having limited ghostly encounters himself. We did the Haunted Pub Crawl. Our guide, Rhett (perfect Southern name for a Savannah tour guide, amiright?) was entertaining and friendly. He showed up in period clothing, so he was easy to spot. The tour was interesting, with a lot of history, as well as some fun ghost stories about the buildings we saw and visited. If you are expecting to actually see a ghost, this is not the tour for you (nor any haunted tour, really). However, if you want to have a good time, hear some interesting stories, and learn some Savannah history all while enjoying some tasty drinks, this is the tour for you! read more

We just finished this tour and we were pretty disappointed. We had wanted to have an authentic-type tour and so we did a lot of research to figure out which one we'd enjoy the most. We opted for Cobblestone Tours because they are supposed to be in period clothing and are supposed to be conducted by candlelight. When we arrived, the tour guide was not in period clothing, nor did she have a candle/lantern. We were told that she decided not to bring the lantern because there was a chance of rain and it was hard to hold both an umbrella and a lantern at the same time. Additionally, she said the owner had to use her costume for a movie that he was having made, so she was not in period clothing. All she had was a small badge to identify herself, which looked like it could've been made at home. The tour was supposed to be a haunted history tour. Unfortunately, she disappointed all of us, especially my kids who love the paranormal, by giving us a history of Savannah 101 lesson rather than giving us any ghost stories. In fact, she told us she didn't believe in them!!! She only told us a couple stories that she had heard - not trying to make them sound believable or anything - and we could hear, almost word for word, the trolley driver on the other tour saying what she'd just told us! (She mentioned later that was her first tour job). Overall, this was a very disappointing tour. We did hear some history...but that's about all we heard. I will be writing a complaint letter to the owner about the lack of period costume and candlelight. Call me picky, but if that's what you advertise, you should deliver!!! read more
