I stopped in one morning for some coffee and a treat. The coffee shop was cute inside. There was a plethora of baked goods available in the case. The staff member at the counter was kind and she gave me some recommendations for coffee. I ended up trying the pumpkin caramel latte. It was delicious.

I've been coming here for about 2years with a group of ladies. The employees are super nice. I love the different drinks of the day, which is usually my go to. They have different breakfast bites and some sandwich options for lunch. They have a room you can reserve for a later group. Definitely a great spot to catch up with friends!!

Went to this cute and cozy coffee shop and absolutely loved it. They have so many flavor options, and the seasonal ones were especially delicious. I tried the pumpkin latte, and honestly, it might be the best pumpkin latte I've ever had! Next time I'm definitely trying the butterscotch. I also love that they feature a "drink of the day," which makes it fun to try something new each visit. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy spot with great coffee and service.

I love coming here. They have booths, tables, a long bar and a couch; plenty of seating options. They also have spots to charge up if needed. Today I had the usual Hawaiian Salted Caramel Steamer with a bacon and cheddar scrambler.

When you first walk in, the place is very welcoming and calming! The inside is nice and comfortable, vibrant colors decorating the space, with a colorful piano in one of the hallways! The staff is very nice and sweet! I ended up getting a coffee, something simple. I got an Iced White Mocha, very refreshing and delicious! My mom ended up getting the Iced Peach Cobbler coffee which is different yet delicious! You get hints of peach and a nice sweetness afterwards. I really recommend stopping by!

A coffee shop with lots of colorful murals and a lending library outside? Sign me up! I stopped by here one morning when I was in the area and I was soooo pleasantly surprised! They had baked goods and lots of interesting specials. I think they have a kitchen and can make sandwiches etc as well. I got a delish almond milk latte with caramel and toffee, it was spot on! They had tons of flavors as well and coffee drinks. I truly think there's something for everyone here. The barista was also very sweet and prompt. The shop was spacious, and a large group of cute old guys were hanging out chit chatting, the place had great vibes :) Oh! It's also across the street from a park, so you could grab a coffee and go for a stroll.

Started my morning off with a flat tire. Had to get that fixed so I passed by this cute out of the way coffeehouse. I was vibing on this place from the parking lot. The mural was amazing kudos to the artist. When I walked up I noticed this spot it pet friendly they had a water bowl out front and for those avid book worms they have a book exchange box out front. Upon entering I could tell it is the local coffee watering hole. For old and young alike. Very bohemian chill vibes. The staff greeted me and asked all the right questions to make sure my iced coffee was just right. Took a sip and it was. I got a 16 ounce iced coffee and it was under $4 beet that Starbucks.

Their scramblers got nothing on Starbucks but their chocolate croissants are to die for!!!

If you want good coffee, then look no further than tidewater drive across the street from the park. Their coffee is hot, fresh and just plain delicious! I am an absolute coffee bean, I can't help myself. And coffee shops where you can sit and actually enjoy your coffee are the best. It's nice and spacious inside despite the tiny parking lot. I do love the flowers and plants they have outside, it's so pretty! Enough to make anyone feel even just a little better when they walk up. For less than $5, I got a wonderful, tasty latte. Will definitely be back!

Ran out of pastries at 7:30am?!?! Whaaaaat..

I was so happy to discover this great coffee spot so close to Norfolk base; about a mile from gate 4. I would come by some mornings, grab a coffee and a pastry or two and go to work. Location-wise, it's very convenient. There's a few parking spots to the left of the coffee shop in a small L-shaped lot. Ingress is right off Tidewater and egress is on Mayfield Ave. Inside is quite spacious with quite a few comfortable seats and tables. Frequently in the morning, I'll go in and see people sipping on their drinks and working on their laptops. Their coffee is really good. The half dozen or so times I've been there so far, very smooth coffee, almost never burnt. I've tried their Red Eye coffee and cold brew. Another one of my favorites is their Dirty Chai with oat milk which is very refreshing. However, one drink I didn't enjoy was their "frappe." I was expecting an authentic Greek frappe. On the contrary, when I saw the barista whip out the blender..I was like, guess they mislabeled that drink frappe and not frappuccino. And when I asked the barista if she knew what a Greek frappe was, she looked at me like I was an alien..lol *Shrugs* They have a decent selection of pastries too. I've tried their plain croissants, hazelnut croissant, macarons, various scramblers, and the grilled cheese with sun dried tomatoes. First off, their macarons are very good. Love the flavors they have available..but the macarons are not available every day. Their hazelnut croissants are another big hit for me! They're basically flaky, buttery pastries with nutella inside. Need I say more? lol And that grilled cheese with gouda and sun dried tomatoes was really good too. The addition of the sun dried tomatoes was delicious! But I will admit, I'm not a fan of the scramblers. At first glance, they look like quiches on steroids..but the few times I've tried them, they were very dry and lacked flavor. I think Coaster Coffee can be so much better. Their staff offers consistently good customer service. But consider expanding the drink menu, including both classics and exotics like affogato, nitro cold brew, Kyoto cold brew towers, and Vietnamese coffee made with condensed milk. Also, make sure your pastries and baked goods are available every morning. It doesn't look good for the business when you walk in at 7am and the pastry display is empty. All in all though, Coaster Coffee is a solid coffee spot in the area. It's nicely situated in a mostly residential area, but also relatively close to the highway and Naval Station Norfolk. Park your car in the lot and grab a quick drink and bite for your daily commute.

I have been here multiple times and the ambience is great. Depending on the time; it can get a bit busy but there is plenty space and comfortable seating. They have a small play area for parents and the kiddos as well. I typically come in the morning to work (remote friendly) and it's really peaceful. The sandwiches are 10/10. Lastly; the music is a vibe!

Cool little coffee shop we checked out after lunch in OV. Not shown was the cookies they have. It was so good we had to buy another one. The cold brew was pretty good and the interior is just so calm, warm, and inviting. Come here if you're in the Ocean View area!

Fun time with the grans in the play area!

This is a great spot to grab a cup-a-joe. I had a chai latte and it was really tasty. Towards the end I found it to be a bit sweet for my liking but I still finished it! The service was good and the play area was just what we needed for some chill time with the grans! We love taking photos by their wall outside and are thankful for a great halfway spot to meet up with our daughter.

I love this area of the city - feels a little small town/a little suburban. I have the coffee passport and was excited to try this new-to-me spot. Mudita sits just off Ocean View Ave practically on the beach. On this visit, there was ample street parking, but I dare say it is tricky on weekends and during the summer. It is in a pedestrian-friendly area, which is a plus, so it's easy to walk to. They do make a point to remind you not to park in the lot belonging to the adjacent shopping center or risk being towed. When I stopped in, it was empty except for one table. I let them know this was my first visit and the staff was happy to tell me about seasonal specials. They have a variety of teas and coffees. I do wish they had a sample of their food menu where they take orders. I didn't notice it until I picked up my drink, so I'll have to return when I have more time to peruse it. For my first visit, I wanted to try a seasonal special drink and opted for the Vietnamese Egg Coffee. It was described as an Americano style drink with egg custard foam. They offer decaf which is a plus so I selected this. It was ready in about 5 mins and was absolutely delicious. The only downside was the size. I wasn't expecting an espresso sized beverage for the price, but probably because I'm used to a Starbucks Americano which is bigger (even for a tall) and has slightly more hot water. The flavor was impressive and I much prefer the espresso Mudita uses! Overall, a great experience. I don't often venture out to OV, but I'll definitely stop back in when in the area!

It is served on their waffle-like bun with bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato and their special sauce. It is terrific. I wish the bacon was not the microwave thin stuff but the vegetables make it crunchy and juicy. I also wish the business would consider creating a similar item using their delicious sausage. It could be called The LETS. (smile)

I really used to love this place, but today, to my horror, the perfect breakfast bagel I so loved has completely changed from a perfect folded egg with gooey melted American cheese on a plain bagel to some horrendous hipster garbage. I don't know why you would take perfection and ruin it, but I guess this is the vibe now. I'm caffeine intolerant so I don't really bother with anything else, but that everything bagel with Gouda garbage I got today was so hideous I would rather have just thrown my money in the trash. My gooey, golden, melty, bagel perfection was replaced with bizarre hipster wannabe upscale yuck and I have no one to give me my two beers for my devastation, nor to take my hurt feelings chit. Ugh.

Stopped by Tea Lux Cafe for a lil boba break and boyyy... this place is a must-sip spot…read more I ordered the Oat Brown Sugar Fresh Milk with boba and physically said "mmm" out loud like I was in a food commercial. Easily one of the best brown sugar flavors I've ever had. Rich. Creamy. Life-changing. Because I make reckless (and delicious) decisions, I also tried the New Blueberry Matcha Latte -- kinda like if blueberry pie and matcha had a sweet little baby. A bit sweet for me, maybe because I didn't give it a full mix... or maybe because I needed to add boba. Either way, still vibed with it. Grabbed some food to-go but peeped the vibe inside -- super cute, perfect for laptop warriors and remote work fam. Ordering at the kiosk was easy, and staff were super helpful if you had questions or just looked confused (me, always). Food-wise I picked from staff's favorites: Spicy Bulgogi Banh Mi (with egg) -- Solid crunch. Flavor was decent, but could've used more bulgogi. Will definitely go extra spicy next time. Fried Buttered Corn -- crunchy, buttery, and served with sausage. It had a lot going on flavor-wise. Fun to try, but next time I'd probably go for the popcorn chicken instead. Final verdict: Come for the drinks -- I'll be sprinting back to try the whole menu. ‍ Food was decent -- a quick, easy spot for a light bite while you sip something fun.

First of all can I just say WOW!…read more We were excited at the first because we thought the Neat Bird from Chesapeake had a new location in Norfolk Colley Avenue but there chicken sandwich was even delicious here too with a different owner! We met the owner, he is a cool band guy with a mustache name Dand. The drinks he made for us were so good and so was the way he talked with his staff and the way they worked together. My parner and I had seen that they pride themselfes on Scottish eggs, which we were lucky to try and it was also very delicious! We like that they have the vibe and also a board with many events of the community on the wall to check out while you sip on a delicious expresso martini. Good job to the Bird! now dont go opening another restaurant in Chesapeake or we will all be very confused!

You order at the register, and the staff brings the food out to your table. Everyone was attentive, and we had no issues with the service. We ordered the waffle plate, which came topped with fruit alongside eggs and their house sausage. We also tried the Huevos Rancheros, the Sausage Egg & Cheese sandwich, and a build-your-own omelette. For drinks, we ordered the brown sugar cold brew, dulce de leche cold brew, drip coffee, and an espresso martini. The waffle was huge, and the sides were great. My only complaint was that it could have used more fruit, as there were only a few small pieces. The Huevos Rancheros were delicious and came with a generous serving of avocado. The only thing that caught us off guard was the lack of salsa, since in traditional Huevos Rancheros the salsa is a key component. Even so, the dish was still flavorful and filling. The omelette was excellent, and the breakfast sandwich was equally delicious. I was especially impressed by the house-made jam, house-made hot sauce, and the perfectly seasoned home fries. As for the drinks, the brown sugar cold brew was excellent, but the dulce de leche version was far too sweet for my taste. From what I understood, they use two flavored syrups to make it, and I think using smaller portions of each would create a better balance. We ended up adding oat milk and some drip coffee to tone it down. The drip coffee itself was solid and came with free refills. The espresso martini really tied brunch together for me -- strong, well-made, and delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed both the food and the experience, and we'll definitely be back.
