One of the better Thai places I've dined in. I thought the decor was attractive and made me feel like I wasn't in Michigan for a short time. The service was great, so much so that they have me bowl of soup for free for now obvious reason. I ordered this spicy fried fish dish with a mountain of sauteed vegetables and sauce that absolutely hit the spot. I asked for the hottest spice level which wasn't a good idea, but still managed to finish it. The fried tofu appetizer is a must try. I have nothing negative to say about this restaurant. read more

This is absolutely my very favorite Thai restaurant. The food here is amazing. I always get the Bangkok fried rice with medium heat. It is always delicious, hot, and super tasty. Tasty. The amount of food always allows for a second meal. Meal heated up later. The spring rolls are really yummy as well. The staff is always very helpful and charming. They know my order by heart now. Parking can be a bit challenging but they are located next to yak arena so you can park in that parking lot. If there is no event going on. They also can get a bit busy so order ahead for takeout or realize that you may have to wait a few minutes to get a table. Well worth the wait! This restaurant is one of our favorite places to have dinner, great Thai food! Husband and I both ordered a noodle dish and we ordered fried dumplings with side sauce to start with, very tasty. Dinners came in no time, steaming hot! I ordered Pad Thai Curry and it had a large amount of shrimp in it, it was delicious. Hub ordered Vonsen noodles with beef and a side of white rice, he ate it all and enjoyed it. Our waitress took good care of us and made sure our water glasses were always filled. Prices are reasonable for the large portions they give you, I had to take some of mine home. Clean, attractive looking place, nice decor, and the staff are all so nice and friendly. Yeah, these guys are great at finding those hidden gems that are sprinkled all over the lower reaches of Metro Detroit that are known as "Downriver". Their 5 star reviews for Coastal Thai in Wyandotte, really caught my eye the other day as I was looking for a good Asian lunch. As Al and Andrew have stated in their reviews, the food here is solid. Now, I got their Crispy Chicken Rolls as an appetizer. I intended to eat just one, but that didn't happen as those crispy rolls have an intriguing texture and flavor that makes them super hard to resist. And my entree for lunch!? Pad Thai! It's excellent. There's a really nice firm bite to their noodles, a good amount of protein, veggies, and crushed peanuts. That magical Thai combination of sweet, sour, salt, pungent, and heat is about as perfect as you'll ever find. The portions were huge and a good value for the money. If that's not enough to convince you, lunch comes with a complimentary cup of the soup of the day. I got an Egg Drop, and it was wonderful. Costal Thai is some of the best Thai food in Michigan. My friend and I came for lunch and every table was taken except one. We sat down and immediately ordered. I got the curry pad Thai spicy. Within 5 minutes our food was in front of us ready to eat. They mentioned they forgot to bring the soup, but the food took less time than it would be for the free lunch soup in most places! I made a mistake getting spicy, I should've gotten medium but my own mistake. The food is flavorful, fantastic, and the waitresses are very nice. It's clean in the restaurant and very busy so you know the food is fresh. The food usually comes out really fast as well so it's a great place to pop in if you're starving. They're not open on Sundays and seem to be closed randomly some other times. This place was good. The place was busy the entire time I was there. I usually get the same thing at many Thai places, so I ordered everything right away and it all came quickly! Loved the tofu and the peanut sauce that came with it. Nice and crispy and the sauce was a little thick. The pad Thai curry was new for me. I thought I could handle medium spice, but I cannot hang. I needed to add a side of rice with it. And the waitress did not shame me. Lol. I am coming back and I hope others do too! read more

A fantastic meal for the price. I was able to order a rice dish for 10 dollars for lunch! It was absolutely delicious and a really great portion. The interior is nice and renovated. It has a very cute jungle, wooden feel with a lot of seating. Wait staff constantly checked in and gave us really great service and refills of water. The wait staff was also super friendly and quick. The restaurant tends to get crowded during lunch though because of its proximity to companies. So keep an eye out for that! read more

Is it the best and most authentic Thai food I have ever had? No, however it was a pleasant surprise. All of the food was cooked perfectly. The chicken was so tender and moist that it really almost took you a back. The ambience of the restaurant is quite charming And the staff is very attentive. While this was just a maiden voyage, my wife and I have both resolved to check out other items on the menu. The pad khing was wonderful, and the spring rolls while not the best were very acceptable. The one stand out disappointment was that the dish was not served with jasmine rice. We also ordered a Thai iced tea which was delightful. I definitely feel that. This place is worth checking out. Watch for the spice it's a level higher than what you're used to, only a few places can get to a level I enjoy and these guys blasted it out the park. First visit was a Togo order of Pad Seeiew, Pad Thai, Drunken Fried Rice, Spring Rolls and chicken wing dings. Everything was fresh and tasty, except we did not care for the wings. Second visit we dined in and ordered Tom yum soup, dumplings, garlic and pepper chicken, Pad Prik w/shrimp, and Bangkok fried rice. Everything was fresh and delicious. The dumplings were good and not greasy. We had the Pad Prim w/ noodles instead of rice...my guy really liked this dish(w/medium spice). Staff was great too! Friendly and worked together to service customers... helped each other with bringing out meals and refills. I will say that we had a bit of a wait on our meal but the staff took care of that ( reflected in our bill) without us even mentioning anything about it( we were enjoying each other's company despite the wait). First time here and I went cause of the reviews. Had a hankering for Thai food from watching a tv show and never really tried any places around here. This one seemed to be top notch and I was curious mainly about this Thai iced tea with cream. I was torn on what I wanted so I just ordered both the pad Thai first and drunken noodles to go. Also got an order of crab Rangoon. I'm not picky on if the waitress comes a bazillion times, she was perfect and let me eat and just kept an eye on me if my drink went low or if I finished a plate so I definitely appreciated that. I'm not a fan of servers who check on you every 5 minutes but I get why. The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely so it didn't feel boring. The food was great and she narrowed down my spice level to medium plus and I'm pretty good with spice and it was the perfect amount. And y'all let me tell you that you NEED this Thai iced tea with cream. I loved it so much I ordered a large one to go. While visiting family in Wyandotte, Michigan we had dinner here as it was close to Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, located in the cute downtown Wyandotte business district, and we all like Thai food. I liked their trendy indoor decor, spacious feel, and cleanliness. The lack of noise dampening acoustics material, not so much as this place is popular even early on a Monday evening and normal voices and sounds really bounce off the high ceiling. In general, I'm familiar with the large portions served with a noodle or rice dish but truly this was the largest portion I have ever seen at a Thai restaurant and I could have equally shared with another person. Their spice levels include very mild, mild, medium, hot, super hot vs. a number scale. In my opinion, their definition of mild was medium! So next visit, I'll know to order very mild :) And I'll try a different dish that I might enjoy more. The service was helpful and courteous. First time here and will be back!! Hubby wanted Thai food as we were headed home from a lazy Saturday spent in downtown Detroit. I yelped Thai and this place came up. Hubby browsed the menu and ordered a curry with squid. Lot of veggies was in it and it was a thinner curry sauce. He loved how fresh it tasted (it had green or red peppers in it so that ruled me out from trying it). I could not decide what to order but wanted something different than my usual Thai go-to of Pad Se'ew. I ordered Pok Tak, which is hot and sour soup with fish, shrimp, squid and quite possibly another protein. It was served with some diced cilantro on top. And it was perfect soup temperature - blazing hot! The broth was a great contrast of spicy and sour (I am a wimp so while it was spicy to me, maybe not spicy enough for others but hubby normally orders hot spice curry and liked the soup's flavor ). Fresh sliced mushrooms and cherry tomatoes were in the soup as well. I have declared this soup to be our family must have when one of us gets a cold next winter! read more

One of my fav Thai spots Downriver. Coastal Thai recently remodeled and the dining room is so nice!! After being closed for what felt like almost a year, Coastal Thai is back and better than ever! I stopped in with my fav work ladies and ordered my fav Pineapple Fried Rice. It was even more delicious than I remember! I order it with extra egg and fried tofu. I have been searching for a good Thai restaurant since moving back to Michigan. My favorite Thai restaurant is quite far from my house so this was a great find located right in downtown Wyandotte with easy parking. The girls were nice and the food even better. Large quantities ate for two days and great pricing some thing for everybody as well. It's a pretty small little restaurant, but it had an amazing and calm atmosphere. The servers were really great, they helped each other out if they noticed we might need something.
