When we bought our house many years ago I discovered a thin layer of blown in cellulose insulation…read morein the attic. It wasn't very even and being a bit of a handy man I added fiberglass batts over top. That made our house more comfortable. But since then we've had a couple of remodels, new roof, etc. In recent summers we noticed that the skylights in our house were much hotter than we remembered them being so one day I climbed up in the attic and saw that some areas had no insulation while others had far more than was needed. We decided we needed to have the insulation "fixed" - whatever was needed. A few weeks ago I called OJ Insulation in Morgan Hill. One of their estimators replied with a time to come by and we soon had an estimate. He agreed that we had plenty of insulation and it just needed to be "touched up"- which meant the guys would rearrange existing fiberglass to fill holes, put more strapping to hold batts thad shifted (like the skylight tunnels), etc. It wasn't practical to walk the entire attic to see exactly what was needed, so he gave me an estimate based on the living space - about $1/sq. ft. We got a time slot a few days later and on the morning a two man team showed up a few minutes early. They confirmed what I had asked to be done and they got to work. They took before and after photos which is helpful. They cleaned up and left the area spotless. It's been a couple of weeks since and we've had some hot days and I'm happy to report that there are NO hot spots in my house any more. Good job guys! Remember the estimate based on square footage? The estimator thought it would take the team 3-4 hours of work and I signed a contract of that amount of work. However, the guys were able to finish in about half that amount of time. I mentioned this to the estimator via email afterwards. He was surprised but gave me a discount on the price. I was pleased. On the basis of good work by their team and honest dealings by the management I am happy to recommend OJ Insulation.

In our 1868 Victorian home, Ryan and his crew removed all of the old fiberglass insulation from remodels we'd done over the years and installed closed-cell insulation in the attic ceilings and floor. I'll admit that when I saw the large amounts of old insulation being removed, I seriously wondered if I had made the right decision. Rather than jumping to conclusions, I waited until I could compare our December 2024 PG&E gas bill with our December 2025 bill. Since we heat our home with a gas furnace, my focus was on gas usage rather than electricity. In December 2024, our house was cold--uncomfortably so. The furnace cycled on and off constantly throughout the day, and we experienced significant temperature swings. The old insulation simply could not hold heat. Fast forward to December 2025. While our gas usage in therms was similar, the outcome could not have been more different. Our home is now warm and comfortable. We keep the thermostat at about 72 degrees during the day, and at night we set it to 62--yet the temperature holds steady around 66 degrees all night. In other words, the heater doesn't even come on after we go to bed. The result is a dramatically more comfortable home with no increase in gas usage. I expected our December 2025 bill to be through the roof, but instead it remained essentially the same--with vastly better performance and comfort. I couldn't be happier with the results. I'm so glad I put my trust in Ryan. We finally have a warm home during the coldest month of the year, and going forward we will be using less therms per month.

Unlike some other companies that focused only on the attic, Attical inspected the entire property, including the attic, crawlspace, garage, exterior walls, roofline, and other potential rodent entry points. They identified and sealed areas that other companies either overlooked or never mentioned. Their pricing was also very competitive. During the quoting process, some companies adjusted their pricing based on estimated labor time, crew size, or changing measurements. Attical, on the other hand, honored their proposal and focused on getting the job done properly rather than finding reasons to increase the price later. Throughout the project, they delivered exactly what they promised: insulation removal, sanitation, rodent proofing, air sealing, duct repairs, trap monitoring, and new insulation installation. The crew was professional, hardworking, and took the time to explain the process and answer questions along the way. Overall, I felt that they genuinely cared about solving the problem correctly instead of simply completing another job. I would highly recommend Attical to anyone looking for attic insulation, rodent proofing, or attic restoration services.

I found them in a…read moresearch on Yelp and no joke, my 8 year old calls me Bro, so figured I would fit right in with the Attic Bros! I think within maybe 20 minutes of submitting my Yelp quote I had a call back and an appointment. Michael came out and did a THOROUGH inspection of the attic took a ton of before pics. But not only that he then sat down with me and went through the entire process, which is quite frankly, amazing. He also answered all of my questions and offered some input on my ducts. He made himself available for any other questions too, which was so nice since my husband wasn't around - there's always another question. With this process, not only do you get your old attic crud sucked out, they look for and seal any entry point for critters. They add mesh from the inside plus they go around the whole perimeter from the outside of the house too just to make sure they caught all entry points. They seal all air gaps from things like recessed lights and fans. And then they sanitize. Something about knowing my 70 year old house got a deep clean is VERY satisfying for my OCD cleaning tendencies. The insulation went in - they use a batting that is 12" thick, my attic before probably had an inch, maybe 2 in spots of the old blow-in stuff which was just dust and dirt and disgusting. This batting is eco-friendly - no pink artificial coloring, just the insulation which also is no longer harmful. Night one and I already saw a difference. Usually when it gets cold at night by 2:00 am our home temp inside drops, we stayed a steady temperature throughout the night, I might be a bit crazy, but it feels like there's a sound dampening effect too - I don't have to have the TV on as high of a volume. Follow-up, they add traps and will come back to monitor in a couple weeks to make sure there is no activity. Another over the top customer service layer - we had Jordan as our project/site manager for the day - I was texted by the system with his picture, LOVE this feature, its really helpful. And he called when he was closer. He kept me updated throughout the day and was just really kind, very professional and the crew he brought, Jesse and I did not catch the other gentleman's name - they worked so incredibly hard, and efficiently. We really appreciated this crew, they were amazing. If you are hesitating for any reason to get your insulation in your attic done - DON'T - it is 100000000% worth every dollar, which by the way is an incredible value when you really think about what it does for your home. I am quite mad at myself for not doing it sooner, but certain things had to happen first, so here we are! I would choose Attic Bros in a heartbeat and whole heartedly recommend them!

Attic Bros responded to a voicemail and email within a day and had someone out the next morning. Jordan Kelly did the inspection and was thorough and straight with us. He found the rats were coming in at the plumbing vent penetrations, and pointed out something no one had ever told us: all our previous rodent-proofing had been done on the tiles, not the plywood underneath -- so the actual entry layer had never been sealed. That explained years of recurring problems. He didn't oversell; he explained what mattered and why. A few things that stood out. When I asked whether the crawlspace was covered, he added crawlspace exclusion and trapping to the estimate at no additional cost. When I flagged that the warranty terms would have been voided by my routine annual HVAC service, he had the language corrected in writing. And when a scheduling mix-up pushed my date out two weeks, they found me the original slot back after one email. The crew of four arrived on time and finished in a day -- removed all the old contaminated insulation, vacuumed out the droppings, sealed every entry point with metal mesh, sanitized, and installed new R-38. Professional, tidy, and they took care in the house. First night since: completely quiet. Job just completed, so I'll update this if anything changes -- but the process, the honesty, and the workmanship were all excellent.

Other HVAC reps I spoke with didn't want to help or even suggest rerouting ductwork to make it happen, but HVAC Gurus did. It was a complex situation working with the existing structure and a new addition. They did all new ductwork, a new furnace, and a cooling system, but the most challenging part was finding the right spot and successfully moving the return vent from its original location. That's when I knew I needed an expert, and that's why I chose them as my sub. As a general contractor, I value trades that can communicate clearly and coordinate with others on site, and this team did just that. Their pricing was competitive for the scope of work, and the quality matched the investment. Professional, reliable, and solution oriented, I'll definitely be working with them again and recommend them for any HVAC work.

The inspector said we needed an electrical permit as well and it took MANY phone calls and another month before HVAC Gurus actually pulled this permit. The first inspection failed because they did not install a GFI outlet on the outside of the house where some electrical equipment was installed. They charged me an additional $650 to resolve what should have been installed properly in the first place. The second inspection because they used flexible conduit from the electrical panel to the ceiling and code requires rigid pipe. They were also cited for using incorrect wiring colors, black wire for HOT line which has to be red to meet building code. This is pretty basic stuff. HVAC Gurus ignored all attempts to remedy the situation amicable and totally dropped the ball. I don't recommend this company to anyone. The workmanship is sub-par at best and they don't stand by their workmanship and their customer service is the worst! I also learned (the hard way) it's never wise to pay any contractor in full until permit inspection has passed. In the end, I hired a qualified electrician and it cost me another $600 to fix the wiring screwup. I would NEVER do business with this company again!

Samim came out and did a very thorough evaluation, showing us dozens of photos of areas that needed attention. He also recommended new insulation, which we hadn't considered and told us our dryer vent needed repair. It took us a few weeks to schedule, during which time Samim followed up periodically, never pushy, always answering our questions and providing more info. His professionalism and knowledge was a huge reason why we chose to work with Attic Pros. On the day of the job, Osman and crew cleaned the attic and crawl space and installed new installation, while Douglas repaired the dryer vent and Kevin cleaned the ducts. They did an amazing job sealing off the work areas and keeping the house clean, despite it being very messy and grueling work! They spent about 3 hours vacuuming the attic and another half a day sweeping the crawl space by hand. Their attention to detail was above and beyond what we expected. We were sooo impressed! And Samim's recommendations were spot on - our dryer is much more efficient now and we noticed the house was cooler within hours of the new insulation being installed (it was the height of summer). We'd use and recommend them again and again!
