Let me begin by saying that Ryan and his crew are extremely trustworthy and professional. I am an…read morearchitect and well-versed in air sealing, but I did not have personal experience with removing old fiberglass batt insulation and installing only two inches of closed-cell insulation. In our 1868 Victorian home, Ryan and his crew removed all of the old fiberglass insulation from remodels we'd done over the years and installed closed-cell insulation in the attic ceilings and floor. I'll admit that when I saw the large amounts of old insulation being removed, I seriously wondered if I had made the right decision. Rather than jumping to conclusions, I waited until I could compare our December 2024 PG&E gas bill with our December 2025 bill. Since we heat our home with a gas furnace, my focus was on gas usage rather than electricity. In December 2024, our house was cold--uncomfortably so. The furnace cycled on and off constantly throughout the day, and we experienced significant temperature swings. The old insulation simply could not hold heat. Fast forward to December 2025. While our gas usage in therms was similar, the outcome could not have been more different. Our home is now warm and comfortable. We keep the thermostat at about 72 degrees during the day, and at night we set it to 62--yet the temperature holds steady around 66 degrees all night. In other words, the heater doesn't even come on after we go to bed. The result is a dramatically more comfortable home with no increase in gas usage. I expected our December 2025 bill to be through the roof, but instead it remained essentially the same--with vastly better performance and comfort. I couldn't be happier with the results. I'm so glad I put my trust in Ryan. We finally have a warm home during the coldest month of the year, and going forward we will be using less therms per month.

Frank was initially booked for weeks, but once I explained the urgency, he shifted his schedule to accommodate me. Not only did he quickly fix the thermostat (a minor, standard adjustment), but he also checked other system components and repaired a duct that a completely different subcontractor had accidentally knocked loose. Anyone who has built a home knows that minor post-construction tweaks are normal, especially when multiple trades overlap. What matters isn't the absence of these tiny adjustments; it's how the company responds. Frank was professional, recognized my urgency, and made my timeline his priority. For that level of service, Advantage Heating deserves 5 stars.

Any of your HVAC questions and quotes free. Roy was different kind of owner, he had this peaceful kindness and was honest. Because Rogelio or Roy looked at another HVAC company's free estimate and after doing his checklist of every possible problem. Roy kindly had a detailed list and price breakdown of what was needed to fix our broken A/C unit. He actually brought me to the areas that the first contractor said needed replacing parts. He showed me that the other contractor was lying. Those areas were in good working condition. He said that he recently started His Family business American Coast HVAC. He previously was Chief Inspector and analyst for Hazel Howking Memorial Hospital and decided to pursue his dream of owning, operating, and growing his families future. Roy believes in God when I asked about his cross necklace and the at ease peace I felt talking with him. I needed only a coolant recharge of my A/C condenser unit. Roy also pointed out damage to 2 Attic ducts that was allowing air to escape. Basically for years we were paying hundreds of extra dollars to cool our home because of leaks escaping and cooling the attic and not getting full air into two rooms. His estimate was cheaper and Roy himself did the job quickly. He also cleaned my house where he worked, lol. Very neat, clean, and professional courtesy totally. I am personally going to send BBB a letter after the money he saved us. A good guy that had highly reputable tenure as a chief inspector for a big hospital. He said he went out in faith for his wife and 4 children future security. Better get this guy before his company blows up and he has to much work to handle. My husband and I called Roy a week later and invited his wife and children over for a meal. We have never did anything like that before Roy. Enjoyed conversation as kids played. His wife, Roy, and my husband and I enjoyed a beer and thanked Roy for his service. I hope Roy's goals of growing his HVAC Business are achieved. I know he will just takes time. Word of mouth references is going carry Rogelio far in life. Thank you again Roy, The Kephart Family, Gilroy, CA.
