Let me begin by saying that Ryan and his crew are extremely trustworthy and professional. I am an architect and well-versed in air sealing, but I did not have personal experience with removing old fiberglass batt insulation and installing only two inches of closed-cell insulation. In our 1868 Victorian home, Ryan and his crew removed all of the old fiberglass insulation from remodels we'd done over the years and installed closed-cell insulation in the attic ceilings and floor. I'll admit that when I saw the large amounts of old insulation being removed, I seriously wondered if I had made the right decision. Rather than jumping to conclusions, I waited until I could compare our December 2024 PG&E gas bill with our December 2025 bill. Since we heat our home with a gas furnace, my focus was on gas usage rather than electricity. In December 2024, our house was cold--uncomfortably so. The furnace cycled on and off constantly throughout the day, and we experienced significant temperature swings. The old insulation simply could not hold heat. Fast forward to December 2025. While our gas usage in therms was similar, the outcome could not have been more different. Our home is now warm and comfortable. We keep the thermostat at about 72 degrees during the day, and at night we set it to 62--yet the temperature holds steady around 66 degrees all night. In other words, the heater doesn't even come on after we go to bed. The result is a dramatically more comfortable home with no increase in gas usage. I expected our December 2025 bill to be through the roof, but instead it remained essentially the same--with vastly better performance and comfort. I couldn't be happier with the results. I'm so glad I put my trust in Ryan. We finally have a warm home during the coldest month of the year, and going forward we will be using less therms per month. read more

Ryan did a really nice job with the foam application and he was easy to work with. Scheduling was flexible which helped us out working around other contractors. read more

Performance Foam Tech - Insulation Installation Near Me

We have a cottage that was built in ~1932 and if I told you the single pane windows and paper thin (non insulated) wooden walls create a rather costly or chilly evening it would be a total understatement. Anyhow, we spent some time with a contractor asking how much it might cost to rectify, the answer was - 'alot'. We'd need to put a false wall in the inside of the house and replace all the windows, however, what he suggested was to place a call into Mike at foam tech and see what he said. My wife spoke to him as did I.. The general gist is that heat doesn't rise but cold air does.. Therefore any cold coming into the bottom of the house will try to push the hot air up. Conventional wisdom led me to think of insulating the loft, stoping the door drafts and changing the windows.. Mike felt that by just putting a 2" layer of foam in the crawl space on the bottom side of the floor thus insulating the largest single exterior surface area. By doing this is should make a big difference on the inside temp as well as strengthen the floors and provide better sound proofing. I have to say I was pretty skeptical but faced with a monster 'bill and build' it seemed a smart hedge. Suffice to say Mike and team came over, foamed our under floor and forced air vent pipes in 1/2 day and the results were simply remarkable. 1... Have you ever stuck your hand over a forced air vent and felt a cold draft ?... Yup, Me too and no longer 2... We' d never had to sleep with the window open in the bedroom and now we do 3... Pretty much every morning the 1st thing to do was to turn on the gas fire and now it's to open the door. Net/net, it actually made a massive difference so I would both recommend under floor foam insulation and of course foam tech. Much appreciated Mike, true professional from front to back.... read more

Performance Foam Tech - Insulation Installation Near Me

Michael and his crew are top notch! Our small house had insulation in the attic but still remained cold during the winter months. Not anymore! My crawlspace floor is now insulated with spray foam and the difference is remarkable. On the coldest mornings my heater would turn on 3 or 4 times until we left for work. Now after insulating the floor it turns on once and maybe twice on the coldest mornings. Oh and the creaking in my old floors is pretty much gone too. Money well spent! Thank you to Michael and his competent crew! read more

I want to sing my praises for Performance Foam Tech. I am very happy with the job that Michael and his helper did, and their fees were actually lower than the other companies I contacted. Not only did they insulate my home in a satisfactory way with spray foam insulation, they went the extra mile by offering to spray in foam between my existing subfloor and finished engineered flooring, at no charge! This helped with some sponginess in the flooring I have been dealing with. Thanks guys for a superior job at a great price! read more

I contacted Performance Foam Tech after receiving bids from two other local insulation contractors. Ryan Simms promptly returned my call and was informative and attentive to my questions and concerns during the initial consult. He quickly scheduled a site visit for the next day and thoroughly inspected my crawl space, answering questions about various options and explaining what he was looking for as he went. Bid submission was prompt and competitive with my best bid received thus far - however the level of detail, promptness and expertise that Ryan demonstrated led me to choose him. He was able to schedule my job for the very next week, fast turnaround and good communication on expectations and duration of the work. It's been a few months and we've been enjoying the improvement to our home's insulation - it's significantly warmer than before and our heating use decreased significantly (our home is drafty and we had to run the heater even in Spring/Summer months). I finally got back into the crawl space this afternoon and inspected his team's work - they covered every inch and did a very thorough job. I would absolutely hire them again and recommend their services! Thank you PFT!!! read more

Mike Morgan, the owner insulated a friend's old victorian home here in Pacific Grove. He came highly recommended. Mike came to my home to measure and talk about the process. A day of removing the old under the house insulation preceded the foam application. Pacific Grove is damp and cold. The insulation just wasn't satisfactory for keeping the house warm. Mike and his sidekick came, and while I vacated the house, they finished an hour early. There was no smell, no dust. Now, my home is warmer and retains the heat generated by the forced air heater. He checked back a few days later to see if things were smooth. read more

We are truly amazed at how awesome this foam insulation works!!! We have an old 1930's home and recently did an addition so we called Michael to spray in some foam. Wow!!! Now that we have lived through those 35 degree nights, we are amazed at how our home keeps the heat in. Before we would have to run our heat throughout the day and night, now we just turn it on for an hour or so, and we are good. Michael is very knowledgeable about the products, and very professional. After getting several bids, Michael was quick to return our phone call, and gave us a competitive bid promptly. He knew exactly what type of foam should be used for our situation and he was spot on. He also suggested using some denim insulation in some areas which works great as well. We were so impressed and would highly recommend Performance Foam Tech to anybody looking to insulate. read more

I highly recommend foam tech. read more

Amazing!!!! Our master bedroom in our two story home was freezing in the winter, we knew it was from the attic space behind our closets. They came in and foam sprayed the attic behind our closets and above our garage. What an amazing difference we felt in our house immediately. They were professional, clean and were finished in the time the allotted for the job. We highly recommend them. read more

Mike is extremely knowledgeable about foam. Had crawl space insulated and it took better part of the day. He did not rec. insulating the attic. Friendly and professional. Seems like our house is warmer this winter. The biggest change is that our master bedroom is not as cold. This is not as cheap as (3X more than) using BATS insulation. read more

I recently hired this company to insulate my detached garage and the attic in my house. Prompt and professional appearing at my house ten minutes early. They were the third company to bid my project. The owner Michael Morgan thoroughly explained the product and it's properties. I was interested in the foam versus using fiberglass because of the excellent insulation the foam provided, but was terrified of the higher costs. I was surprised to see that the costs weren't four or five times more, but only about 25% more. Let me tell you it is totally worth the extra money. I hired Michael Morgan (Performance Foam Tech) and scheduled the installation the week before July 4th. His right hand man Ryan did the instal and he is a total pro. Ryan and his aide worked as hard as I have ever seen anyone work - stopping to hydrate occasionally - and knocked out the job in two days. This was during one of our bay area summer mini-heat waves. Great installation, employees with excellent attitudes, a high performance product which has made a huge difference in the house temperature. My attic has not been over eighty degrees since the completion of the job...normally in the summer my little heat sensor gun tops 120 degrees in the attic on a hot day. I would recommend this company and this product wholeheartedly. Spray in closed cell foam outperforms fiberglass easily (data backs this) and the cost difference isn't that significant as one or two inches of closed cell foam performs better than eight to twelve inches of fiberglass. Great performing product, awesome company fired with enthusiasm from sales to installation. It was just about one of the best experiences I have had with contractors in the past twenty years. M. Performance Foam Tech was and is awesome. Before 'the foam' we felt like we were camping in our own house (85 year old house) during the winter months. We priced double paned windows and couldn't afford that. So, we foot the bill for the foam...AMAZING! Our house has all hardwood and tile...most of the squeaking from the wood floors stopped and stopped the echo when just walking down the hallway. Now, our house is at least 10 degrees warmer, feels more solid and the cost was less than half what the windows would have been. They took just 8 hours and they were on time. Thank you so much Michael Morgan and your amazing team! Joe and Heidi read more

My Pacifica house looks right at the ocean and when the wind blows that cold damp foggy air was blowing into my crawl space vents and creating a balloon effect in my subfloor. I crawled in there one time, squeezed a part of the fiberglass with my fist and water came dripping out. I never knew fiberglass could act like an absorbing sponge. Aside from an uncomfortable living situation, I was worried about my house being a mold factory and making the inhabitants sick if I just let it go. Anyway, the cold-air positive wind pressure in the crawlspace was forcing its way through all the nooks and crannies of my subfloor and through the fiberglass into the house. My first floor has always been cold and drafty, even after the heater just shut off. Mikes team came in after the home depot squad pulled out all the existing fiberglass and sprayed out their 2-3 inches of closed cell foam insulation. Guess what... no more drafty areas on the first floor and the heater does not kick on half as much as it did before. Money well spent and no more drafty first floor. Mikes team was good at protecting my house from any accidents. You will understand this better when you see how the unhardened foam behaves. Once you get it on something... chances you will not get it all off. The stuff can be really really nasty if you don't know how to work with it. Anyway, this was mid 2012 and I am considering have my attic done now. I have noticed the mice droppings up there and they are storing their food in pocket area corners. I figure that if I remove the fiberglass they wont have a nice blanket to live in when things get chilly outside. I have got to deal with this before things really get out of hand. Anyway... nothing but 5 Stars to Mike and his team for the earlier work. Looks like I will be calling them again. read more

For years I've dreaded winters in our home. Part of our home's original foundation is built on pier and post with an open crawl space. This area happens to be where the master bedroom/bath and kitchen sit. Although we have forced air central heating, this part of the house was always freezing. I had to bring a small portable space heater wherever I was in this part of our home. We are so happy (and warm) now that we've had Performance Foam Tech insulate! An immediate, noticeable difference was felt. No more portable heater. Our heating system is not continuously turning on or running as before, as the air is staying warmer. Mike and his crew were extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Jo was very friendly, courteous and accommodating in scheduling our time. Thank you so much! read more

My house was built in 1898, so needless to say it stays on cooler side. I called the performance tech and office staff were exceptionally helpful. They had Michael call me and schedule a time to look at the house and give me an estimate. Michael and his crew came out did the work, they were professional, friendly and left every clean. The temperature in the house is a definite improvement best money I have ever spent. I highly recommend Performance Tech to my family and friends. read more

Outstanding service! I recently hired them to foam under our floor boards to help eliminate cold spots in the house, like my son's room. We already have R39 blown-in insulation in the attic, rock wool in the walls and yet still we would have to turn the (new) heater up to 71 at night just to keep our son's bedroom at 65 degrees. The only thing left to insulated was the floor. We have a stem/wall constructed house with wood flooring. The guys were amazing. Not only were they able to get us on the schedule quickly, but they were fast and the house was clean when they left. We saw an immediate difference that night. Our heater is now down to 67 at night at my son's room stays a perfect 65/66. Another added bonus, our wood floor doesn't squeak at all! read more
