The very first Coach purse that I ever bought was in Santa Barbara, Ca. I bought one on clearance for a really good price. Santa Barbara is a really nice city but it's not cheap to shop in. I was happy that I got such a helluva deal ($75) on a Coach purse. I had had it for about a yr and the trim was starting to peel off. I took it to a Coach store in my city and they said that they would send it away for repair for like 10 bucks. No problem. I waited about 2 months cuz I hadn't heard from anyone via email, snail mail or phone call. I called them and they said that they were unable to fix it but they would send me a credit. Cool! I got my credit in the mail for $75 and headed to the Coach Outlet near me. They were having a HUGE sale so the store was packed. I found a purse that I liked and bought it with my credit. Had that purse for a couple of yrs and one of the teeth on the zipper went outta line and I was unable to zip up my new purse. Dang! Took it to the Coach store in my city. They said no cuz I bought it at a Coach Outlet. Really??? So, It took it to a shoe repair store in the same mall. I told her that it just needs a new zipper and shelled out 60 bucks! She gave my purse to some dude and he cleaned it really nice but didn't give me a new zipper!! WTH?? So, long story short, that purse wound up at a Goodwill store in my city. When I just must get away from LA, I drive out to Carlsbad Outlet - to Coach. I usually spend a lot of money and find it as good therapy at the time. One of the best things is my shopping experience. It seems that everyone is treated the same, the store assistants are so respectful, so helpful and truly knows how to make my drive of 87 miles worth it. They always take time to ensure that I am pleased. I spent at least 45 minutes in the store and the ladies in the store help me make a decision in which I could drive home happy. I cannot wait to go back. I know I spend a lot of money but when service is as such - it truly allows me to have no regrets. My wife has worked at the Michael Kors outlet location here in Carlsbad for many years. We normally never set foot into Coach. I think the popularity of this brand has decreased considerably over the years. Still, we wandered into the men's store looking for a small black leather messenger bag. They had one on clearance for 70% off. It looked great and the staff was very friendly. Overall good experience...can't complain. read more

This store was great. I went in. Went to the back. Checked out their luggage. Bought a signature carry on. And was greatly pleased. It was a $500.00 tote, that was on sale for 40% plus an additional 20% off that was given to me when it was rung up, via coupon. The sales person didn't have to give me the 20% off, but he did. Thanks guy!! The tote came out to about $230.00-ish. And i pleasantly left. OMG- This has to be one of my FAVORITE stores ever....I am ADDICTED to COACH and I know it.... My hubby tells me that I have a serious problem, but hey it's better than being addicted to other things....I went to the Coach outlet 3 weeks in a row and bought something everytime....I think I am due for another trip real soon.... The only bad thing about this store is the amount of people shoved into a tiny store and the lines....The last time I went I waited in line for 30-40 minutes, but it was well worth it....I learned that if the store gets too crowded they close and lock the doors until the crowd dies down and let everyone else in....I guess I would have to say that all the craziness is WELL worth it....Every girl LOVES a cute new purse!!!!! read more

This is my first review on yelp, and today was my first day going into this store. I was so impressed by my experience, that I had to take time to let everyone know how awesome this place is. Just as a disclaimer, I don't actually own any Coach bags (I tend to gravitate towards brands with more conservative styles). I went there for Christmas gifts for my family. First positive is that this place is huge. The poor D&B shop across the way is like a closet compared to the Coach store. I was really impressed by the selection. It seems like they have something for everyone. They have all sorts of designs and materials, and most of them have a great color selection. I didn't have high expectations walking in since I waited until the last minute to do my shopping, but 5 days from Christmas they still had a good variety. Second, the prices are great compared to your Nordstrom or Macy's. I was handed a 30% off coupon when I walked through the door. In addition to that, almost the entire store was discounted already. This could be since it is so close to Christmas though; I can't verify the prices during non-holiday shopping times. For my mother, I bought a silver and black logo bag with the MRSP at $328. It was on sale for $179, then the 30% off coupon brought it down to around $120 after all is said and done. Finally, the staff here is just wonderful. You are greeted with a coupon when you walk through the door, and there are several sales associates on the floor that are about as nice and helpful as you could ever ask for. They carry around calculators, so if you are wondering about the final price, they will calculate it for you. The line was pretty long when I was in there, but they have people that will do a sort of "mobile" checkout if you are paying by credit card (like they do at Apple stores). I definitely would echo the advice given by another commenter about hanging on to something if you even think you may want it. The store was incredibly busy, and you never know when stuff is going to be picked up by someone else when you turn your back. If you like Coach or are shopping for someone who does, you absolutely have to check out this store. I just can't say enough good things about it. Excellent Coach outlet store. Came here today and I was handed a 20 percent off coupon upon walking in, and greeted with a bunch of friendly smiles. The customer service here is very friendly. I came in search of a new purse and to hopefully retire my current Coach purse which was 5 years old. (It's had a good run!) They had a really nice selection of items and right now they have some adorable Summer bags and accessories. Lots of flowers, watermelons, and really cute sunhats. I got a really nice new purse, originally $350 marked down to $169 and it came to $135 with the 20 percent off and before taxes. Plus the store is pretty organized as far as Outlet stores go. I went into this store looking for a matching wallet for my coach bag. And was really amazed on the variety of handbags and purses they carry. The young lady who helped me, was very instrumental in making my purchase. She showed me different wallets and how to calculate the discounts. The cashier was very friendly as well. I have found this Coach Outlet doesn't have a large of a 'clearance' section as other Coach Outlets do. This outlet is also very spacious for when it gets crowded. This is heaven for a Coach addict! I would recommend going the Thursday before Labor Day. You will get the same sales price plus the 20% additional discount without the crowd. They had great totes, wallets, wristlets, sunglasses, scarves and shoes. They even had laptop sleeves! The associates were all friendly and made me feel welcome. read more

It's good... The main attraction here for me is the crate and barrel outlet! We love it! I think the gap is good, but it's so packed in there it can be overwhelming at times. I also would like to see more stores. I am used to desert prem and cabazon- major names there. Parking is pretty easy, except for in the summer when it's a major tourist attraction. This was my first time coming to this Coach outlet and I'd have to say, the experience was a lot better than I thought, even better than some of the regular Coach retail stores I've been to. After reading reviews about the bad customer service and the crazy lines and aggressive shoppers, I wasn't actually sure what to expect. Granted, if you go during the weekend or a holiday season, don't be surprised that it's crowded, there's a line, and the customer service isn't up to par. Well, when we went, it was a Monday afternoon. It wasn't crowded at all; we were properly greeted and the employees there were very friendly and helpful. The cashier even neatly wrapped the handbag and wallets I bought and gave me gift boxes for them like in a regular retail store as well. The only downside is that dust bags aren't included because they get their products from the retail stores and the stores don't send the dust bags with them. As far as the pricing goes, it's a great deal for what it is. It's already about half off of the original MSRP and then another 20% off (30% if you spend more than $250). read more

I'm pretty sure this is one of the brands that makes things separately for their regular stores and outlets, because I swear there are things here that would never make it to the main stores. But there are also so, so, so many gems here, all for terrific prices! I bought a wristlet here for an AWESOME price that I take with me EVERYWHERE. It's adorable, and doesn't have C's all over the outside. This wristlet alone is worth 5 stars. The minus 1 comes from oftentimes having to wait in line for a thousand years, but I don't seriously hold it against them for that. They can't help it if everybody loves Coach. :) With Coach flooding the market like they have been, I don't really think of it as a status symbol like it perhaps used to be, but they have such cute purses and accessories for reasonably affordable prices that I can't help but love them. read more

I was approached as I entered the store, told the sales girl what I thought the problem was, and within minutes, they replaced my strap. No questions asked, no receipt required. I can't claim to be a Coach expert but why shop at full retail if many of the same items are 50 to 75 percent off? Quality is great and the staff always know what they are talking about. The customer service at this store is always HORRIBLE and ANNOYING!!! They have a new embossing machine where you can request custom made leather Coach tags (letters and a few designs like tree, skull, dinosaur you select and design on a piece of paper). The employees do NOT know what they are doing at all- untrained and stupid. First employee told me it would be 15 minutes to make 2 tags. It ended up being 1 hour and 30 minutes total! She was really struggling and a second employee had to help out who was even worse and clearly untrained as well. They have no idea how to center the leather tags on this machine so the letters strike the tag incorrectly and not centered properly since they were using regular tape trying to hold it down. Secondly - please stop following me around the store making suggestions! If I need your help, I will come to you. The cashiers are incredibly SLOW. They kept on having to ask manager to come over for help and returns. The pricing in the store is so annoying- 70% off plus 15% on top of that on grossly over-priced "original priced" bags. Stop tricking customers into thinking they are getting a BIG discount, when the final price after multiple lame discounts is the real price to begin with. I give it 2 stars because they do have a great selection in the Spring and Summer that make nice gifts. I do NOT like their dark purse colors for winter at all. read more

I would NOT recommend the Coach Outlet in Carlsbad to anyone. Do NOT expect good customer service. I went there on Mother's Day weekend, but was very disappointed in their non-customer service. A lady in the back totally ignored me as I tried to ask her for help. I was walking toward her and said, "excuse me... mam.. excuse me...", but she looked away and walked in a back room. I waited for her to come back out and when she returned, I asked her again and she ignored me again. I continued to shop and was able to receive customer service from another customer. After the horrible experience, I submitted a survey online and informed the manager about the incident. The manager apologized and asked when she could contact me. I gave her my availability and was later informed by another manager that she went on vacation. I have not heard from either of them since. Avoid this place like the plague. The Coach Outlet in Carlsbad does NOT value customers. read more

I'm writing this from the perspective of a guy. The store is clean and they had some helpful people...when you ask them. I was looking for a purse for a birthday present for my girl. She loves Coach product. It's pricey, but women seem to love it. I had a female I tracked down, with reddish/brown hair help me. She knew her product and directed me in the right direction.
