Got a pair of boots re-soled!! He cleaned them up and even added new inserts. They went from being a zero to a TEN in a week with him. I LOVED SEEING ALL of his amazing cobbler equipment- both vintage & new & wish I had the skills!! Highly recommend. He's cash ONLY. read more

I came here because my husband suggested the place. He had taken pairs of shoes here before. I needed two pairs of shoes to be worked on. I loved both pairs of shoes that I brought in. One is an ankle, leather boot, which the heal/sole was beginning to separate. The other pair was also ankle height, but a suede type (wallabe style). The sole half way separated. I wasn't pleased with the type of customer service from this owner. He showed no customer service manners during my drop off and pick up visit. I looked at the boots quickly and saw that the sole were intact. When I arrived home and looked at the boots later. I saw one pair how the glue was not wiped up completely. After wearing it a week I looked to see how the sole was doing and I could see a slight separation. I didn't expect this having to pay $40 for each pair. I used Gorilla glue to fix the problem. I should have done the work myself. read more

Very happy with this cobbler shop! The quality of work is excellent. I've had purses and shoes repaired and upgraded, and it's always a pleasure to deal with the owner, Roger. He has very fair pricing. His attention to detail and craftsmanship are those of a seasoned cobbler. The shop is well-equipped with all the necessary machinery. He even makes custom cowboy boots! Came in to drop short dress boots off for a shine . He looks at them and says he needs to dye them to restore color . I wipe the dust off with a wet finger and he says " you dont trust me ? " I ask how much , he says $60 . He makes another rude comment when i said i wasnt sure what i paid for the boots Lost all my potential biz at that moment . As a former Marine i will have these looking new in an hour myself or get them shined at the airport if that's still possible . read more

Old fashioned, quality customer service and craftsmanship right here in Vista! I bought a pair of work boots online with a known defect. I went to Old Tucson Cobbler for the first time and ten minutes later, I left with my repaired boot. The owner, Roger, was very nice and while busy, he took the time to make the simple repair to my boot while I waited. To top things off, he only wanted to charge me five dollars. Roger has made a customer for life by his simple act of generosity. Old Tucson Cobbler will be my first stop the next time I need shoes or a leather item repaired. read more

Terrible Customer Service... Cant answer questions... Hangs up the phone when trying to get a quote... This guy is a JOKE I never leave reviews but this one is well earned... I went to Old Tucson Cobbler for luggage repair. I am from out of town and my luggage was damaged. Roger was so helpful! He went out of his way to help me with something that he normally does not do so I could get my luggage repaired and be able to get it home. I would recommend his services/business to anyone needing work on their shoes or other leather items. Thanks, Roger! read more

I came in to get my boots heel and toe repaired and raised slightly. Man is passionate and takes pride in his work. Gave my boots some color and polish just out of passion for leather. And it was only like $50? Sounds great considering I got these boots for $300 like 6 years ago and they are like new now. So satisfied. I probably won't be back for a long time bc these last so long but I'll definitely send all my friends here! Thanks, Roger. read more

I was in search of a zipper repair on my favorite traveling bag. So off I went to the nearest tailor thinking it would be a quick fix. Visited a couple of different places telling me they either won't fix it or an amount warranting me to go buy a new one. I didn't want to buy a new bag - this was my FAVORITE traveling bag. Researched, Googled and Yelped and found Old Tucson Cobbler. They were a town away with rave reviews I had to pay a visit. Walked in with my 2 kids and my favorite bag. The store is packed with goods and yet comforting in a strange way. My kids can't get enough of all the different things surrounding them. A man emerges from the back room and is so helpful and friendly. He inspects the zipper on my bag and tells me he can repair it at a reasonable cost!! I was so thrilled he had no idea. Go to Old Tucson Cobbler for your shoe and zipper repairs. He is worth the trip. read more

Made a dumb mistake and cut the strap on a brand new shave kit. He cut it square, burned it so it would not run doan strap and put a sleeve over it and stitched it. Good as new. Great job and quick too. read more

Friendly guy, excellent work, at a good price! What's not to like about that? Fixed my zipper on my boots for $25. Happy customer.

Roger repaired the heels to all four of my shoes. The blue pumps needed touch up and he was able to match the blue leather perfectly. I was so impressed. My shoes look new again. Of all the repair shops I've been to, I think this place is the best. He's better than the craftsmen in big cities like San Francisco and New York City. Roger is super friendly, has great craftsmanship, and the prices were very reasonable. read more

First of all, I highly recommend this place! I invested in a nice pair of boots and I was very concerned with getting them repaired when the time came, I didn't want them to get ruined/damaged or repaired in a way I didn't like. I live in North County San Diego and I searched all of San Diego, I called several other Cobblers and shoe repair stores but couldn't decide. I spoke to the gentleman on the phone at Old Tucson Cobbler and instantly felt like I was going to be taken care of, he was very kind, knowledgeable, and reassuring. I brought my boots in that day. I got my pair of Wolverine 1000 miles resoled and the owner did an amazing job. My boots look amazing, and if i need any other leather repair this is the place i will go. read more

Ok... I'm not typically a review writer, but Roger is AMAZING! And he didn't even do any work for me really. He was kind and honest, he helped me navigate an issue I was having with some tall boots, provided me some boot stretching spray. And after following his instructions I was finally able to get them zipped up. Which means I don't have to return them or sell them. While I don't want my boots to break in any kind of way, I definitely know where I'd take them if they did! read more

Had some leather patches I needed sewn on a few items, had a shirt and hat, I gave him as a test and showed placement Shirt came out really nice, placement and stictching were incredible, I didn't like the hat because of the stitching but was actually going to have him do the rest So I give him 11 work shirts thinking I'm going to get the same result as the first Nope! I was I completely wrong, as soon as he showed me the shirts I told him I wanted them how the first was done, he gave me a few excuses but I was just too frustrated to say anything, the placement was off and the stitching looked rushed and completely different than the first I paid him and left as he said there is no way to fix the issue Could've had called before making changes or I would have never given him the shirts Now I have 12 shirts and one hat and only happy with the first shirt I gave him as the tester I definitely won't recommend him for sewing in leather patches read more

Guys like Roger are going the way of the buffalo. I must've walked a thousand in my Mexican-made Justins.. or should I say Tony Lama's? I had no idea they were the same company until Roger handed down a thorough education. I wore a hole in the bastardos like Willie Nelson's guitar, with the exception that his instrument was made better by the abuse. Roger could've leaned in for an easy $180 sucker punch for the repair cost, but instead advised that it really wasn't worth it, given the amount of cheap, water-logged cardboard in the soles. May as well get a new USA-made all leather pair and be done dabbling. He placed the $60 cash deposit back in my hand, and wandered off into a pleasant, Dali Llama-like sermon about karma. Ya know what? I LIKE THAT I'll be back. read more

I wanted to update my review that after wearing some of the shoes that had heels to be re-glued, it feels like when I walk it's already lifting again. A very sloppy job I must say! I have also been told that the shoes look dirtier than when I left them. As the professional, you would think the shoes would be returned looking new and clean but they were filthy. read more

Roger is incredible! He did a great job re-soling and re-gluing some vintage 60s shoes for me. It was actually my first time bothering to go to a cobbler so i wasn't sure what to expect price-wise but you are truly paying for quality here. He also fixed an old 1940s belt for me free of charge. He told me it would be a few week turn around for the shoes, which I was happy to wait for, and just a couple days later he called me to tell me my shoes were ready! I've been sending all of my customers here and have met plenty of other people who only trust Roger with their shoes. He is cash only so come prepared! read more

Got a new heal on a pair of boots. Service was great, super friendly and honest. Great price as well. Shoes done quickly and look great.

No attention to details. It's the small details that count. I took in a new pair of leather single monk strap shoes to have the strap removed and add eyelets for shoe laces. I didn't like the strap and I wanted it to be a laced shoe. Simple job nothing too complicated for an experienced shoe cobbler. When I received then it seemed like no measurements were taken in regards to where to cut the strap so that both shoes look the same. And when then it came to the eyelets no measurements were taken for the spacing or the placement of them. Just a really sloppy job. The guy there was quick to blame the machine that it moved when he was doing it. No apology or offer of fixing it. Being the optimist that I am, I said no problem. I figured black shoe laces will cover up the sloppiness of his work. The shoes are ok. Not too noticable unless you look real close. I can live with the shoes. I'm the type of person that will give a business a second chance before I completely write them off and take my business elsewhere. So I decided to bring in a pair black dress shoes that have had their day but still have a little bit of life left in them. The problem with the shoes is that I don't use a shoe horn and I step on the back and the stitching has split and come undone. They just needed to have a small patch of leather to fix the stitch and cover it. When I got the shoes back they did have a patch but the stitching is just awful. Really sloppy work. There is totally no pride in craftsmanship in the work. No matter what craft, skill or trade, one must always take pride in their work. When I explained to the guy that the stitching was sloppy he quickly blamed the machine again. And when I told him that it's the details that matter, with a straight face he quickly recommended to take them to other cobblers here in Vista. I think I was more annoyed by the comments and the nonchalant attitude of no shits given then the shitty work. Along with the shoes I also dropped off a pair of cross strap sandals that I just wanted a buckle strap added to the back of them. Once again really sloppy stitching and no measurements were taken for the placement of the straps. Looks like he just eyeballed it. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me a three times, no thank you. I should have learned my lesson the first time. So beware. Quality matters. Details matter. Craftsmanship matters. There are plenty of other local businesses to support. read more

I brought in two pair of expensive tall boots that I needed to have stretched for my big toe inner bunion. He did a great job and in a timely manner! I'd read he also makes cowboy boots so that is what made me choose this business. His appreciation for the craftsmanship of my boots that I brought in, made me know he'd take good care of them.
