    Last course: Duck
    Melissa R.

We were bummed Zubair himself wasn't there (got a flight delay) as that's a main reason for attending but this is a delightful tasting experience with a fusion flavors that really work. The only real letdown was food temperature--we were in the middle back section and by the time food arrived to us it felt lukewarm at best. They were able to accommodate dietary restrictions with advanced notice. Highlights were the sable, mushroom faraa, and duck which has been a recipe passed down for generations. Servers were kind and even brought out a special dessert when they found out we were celebrating a 40th birthday. It's a small, intimate space and a special night out for sure.

Amazing tasting menu with reasonable prices and intimate ambience. Zubair and team do a great job of describing each dish - especially the rich history behind Duck Numidian. I felt like the quality got better with each course, with the final dishes being some of the best I've ever had on a tasting menu! The seasonal menu's give everyone motivation to go back every few months to see Zubair's new dishes.

Excellent service and food. We had the 6 course meal. My favorite course was the Chilean seabass. It was extremely savory and paired with the best okra I've ever had. Every wine and dish was introduced by our server. Our water glasses were always full. The wine pairing nicely elevated the meal. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and classy without being over the top. The music was more low key and contemporary. We would be happy to return for another pleasant dining experience!

Disappointing brunch, and not in a fun "oh well" way--more in a "how did this go so wrong?" way. I…read moreordered the Uttapam expecting those savory, thick, veggie‑topped rice‑and‑lentil pancakes a Google search described. Instead, I got something thin, lukewarm, and flavorless. If there were Thai chilies involved, they were absolutely in the witness protection program. The coconut chutney was good but competed for attention with the bland pancakes. The pancakes were crying for some kind of vegetable topping, some heft, some flavor, and some heat. The mimosa drink was both too sweet and too pricey, like it was designed for someone who forgot to read the menu before ordering (me). I came in with high expectations based on the reviews; I left wishing I'd microwaved an Amy's Tofu Scramble.

Interesting fusion combos that sounded promising, but it just missed the mark for me. I loved the crust for the calzone. It was really good. But the butter chicken didn't have any flavor so it got lost in the crust. I liked the Marry Me cabbage, but it didn't blow sunshine up my skirt. The almonds were a nice added crunch though. They gave the cabbage much needed texture. I think my favorite was the pig cheeks and grits. The meat was perrrfect. Sitting on creamy grits, every bite was delicious. Loved the ice cream sandwiches but found the chai leches cake really bland. It lacked the sweetness you want after a meal. But if you prefer your desserts understated, you might love it Loved my blackberry crumble cocktail. It was a suggestion by my server and she was right. I wouldn't go out of my way for this restaurant. It was definitely a "one and done" for me. I didn't dislike it by any means at all, it just wasn't worth the 26 min it took to find a parking spot. With that in mind, take the L and/or walk. Don't do as I did and drive. It's all permit parking around there.

None of the curries were bad. You have to come with a group bc portions are generous! Chai was soothing. Chicken 65 is fried but could be crispier. Staff were very friendly and helpful. But they are distinct that I like some of their food and I didn't know any buffets and I kept seeing this restaurant whenever I go to work in downtown Chicago. When I take the blue line and I kept seeing this restaurant when I would eat at Thai lagoon across the street. Well this was my payday and I decided to give this place a bucket list try. It is also still lent so I'm still following the Catholic not eating red meat or poultry. The waitress in regards to service since they just opened up I learned by coincidence since they were renovating mentioned that they did have seafood entrees and of course I didn't want shrimp I ate more on the fish side and they had salmon. But to start off I had the crispy onion pakora which was delicious for an appetizer It's basically almost like a deep fried onion ring with a fresh spinach colored emerald green dip that compliments and it was not too greasy. Then came My main dish of the salmon tikka masala and garlic naan. I would have ordered this in beef or lamb for tikka masala but since it's lent for me I have to eat fish It was okay but it would have been better if this was lamb if I could imagine chewing and savoring The pasty almost tomato like sauce with its spices and tanginess but it also tasted good to it salmon but lamb would have been better. The naan was ok I think a bit too garlicky but I would probably order the butter one next time cuz this was a garlic naan. They're mango lassi was very fresh however one of the reasons for the four stars although they gave me one on the house because they had a very limited dessert menu with ice cream and that's not really traditional Indian. But going back with the lasee the portion was just too small for $5. I would come back again other than that they gave the second last seat on the house and I didn't get charged but I would suggest they add a bigger mango lassee I had mentioned to the waitress or server. Ambiance was a little modern like I said they just opened after 3 weeks of being closed otherwise I came by coincidence that they just opened since the renovation.
