Oh my this was delicious! This is not your mainstream Mexican food... I had a cheese enchilada, served in an amazing creamy green sauce. The beans were whole and cooked to perfection; along side the rice, which was fluffy and flavorful. Are you getting that I really enjoyed my meal :-) because I did! My husband had the most moist and tasty carne asada along side the rice, beans and.....oh my mango salsa, which belive me, complimeted the meat. Wow! What an exceptionally delicious meal. We stopped in for lunch one afternoon. Based on the looks of the place, it seems like super typical Mexican food. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu. Everything is fresh with unique ingredients. I had enchiladas with mole and poblano cream sauce. The mole was just the right blend of sweet and savory - hands down the best I have ever had. The poblano cream sauce was addictively rich. My friend had tacos and said they were delicious. Even the chips and salsa were super fresh and homemade. This is some of the best Mexican I have ever had. The prices are a little higher than your typical Mexican but well worth it. read more

I'm taking away one star because their "outdoor" seating isn't really outdoors. It's almost fully enclosed with the exception of a small whole above a doorway. This type of set up really frustrates me during COVID times. Since I was super hungry and already there, I decided to eat there anyway. At least the seating is well spaced and there are glass dividers between tables. That aside... the food is very fresh and delicious. The staff are super friendly and attentive. I ordered the veggie tacos (good vegan option) with a side of rice and beans. The beans (they're whole beans) were the best I've ever had; well seasoned and not oily. I also ordered a mezcalita and it came in a super cute decorative glass. It's a large drink and tasted decent, however it tasted like they used sour mix instead of fresh citrus and I couldn't taste the smokiness of the mezcal, so I don't think they added enough mezcal to it. The restaurant is a 10 min walk from the main downtown La Conner area, or you can drive and they have their own parking lot. read more

We in the area looking for good Mexican food. Saw the new reviews that recommended it. It's off the main strip but it's absolutely worth the small walk or quick 2 minute drive from the strip. I've passed by this place many times and never realized the deliciousness that was within. The food and drinks are thoughtfully prepared and the flavors are developed. I spend a lot of time In La Conner and I can see myself making this a go to to spot for sure when I want to enjoy a quick meal and drink. The vibe is understated and simple. This place really rocks. Ask for the Jalapeno Margarita and then get the Molcajete which is grilled meats in a sauce with melted cheese served in a molcajete - which keeps the sauce hot for the entire meal. It comes with a ton of condiments, all delicious. The chicken with mole was to die for, and the enchalada is also absolutely superb. We were so happy with the atmosphere, the food and the drinks and we loved our server Miguel who went way over and beyond to take care of us. We had a flan for dessert and that was also fabulous. I was a little leery of another Mexican restaurant in this building, only because the food was always cold from the last two owners who tried to make a go of it, and I really can't stand cold Mexican food. But things have changed, and for the better!! Our dinners were outstanding. I had the plate with three smaller sized enchiladas and they left me wanting more. It wasn't a huge plate full of greasy food, but rather more like gourmet Mexican food at it's finest, without the grease. The only thing i didn't really care for was the chips and salsa, but the main course more than made up for it. I will return to dine again at the COA sooner than later, and I would suggest it to anyone. Great service and excellent food. read more

Not very good food. Not sure where the high reviews are coming from. The meat was tough and overcooked. The rice had a weird almost plastic taste to it. The portions were very large almost to the point of being gross! There wasn't enough sauce to enjoy all the other ingredients with. Definitely would not come back here again and less there is a significant improvement in the quality of the food. The service however was fair to good. read more

It was a good sign when even the first bite of rice and pinto beans were surprisingly tasty. The Chile relleno was good (if heavy on the egg batter) and my family said the salad and the crispy tacos with tinga were great. The churros were fresh, crispy, and delicious. The two servers were both very friendly and attentive. My nine year old child gave it a 10/10. read more

Tried to order food from la conner location but only mt Vernon menu online. Called la conner restaurant and they said menu was the same. We ordered carne asada which says it comes with shrimp and I verified that with employee. What we got was no shrimp but some skirt steak in such large slabs & nearly 3/8" thick we had to try to cut it into manageable pieces. Except all the steak had a layer of tendon/gristle running through the entire center, couldn't cut it or chew it. I had to spit it out in the garbage. so we ate the veggies and threw the remainder of the meat away. At $16 per plate I expected better. read more

This is a awesome place, incredible and different, very fresh ingredients Mexican Food. Had the Los Taco( gluten free) for eleven bucks, gave me three tacos plus a salad including beans and rice "over the top " good food. If you drink try their La Paloma, refreshing with Tequila, grapefruit soda and lime. Bet you can't drink one!! Normally I don't get excited about Mexican Food... But this place is well worth the comments, and I will be returning to try everything of their menu. Oh and the service was great.. Happy people!!! read more

Presentation great! Food excellent. I had fajitas. So much food - I have another meal I'm taking home. The veggies were fresh. Most fajitas have peppers tomatoes and onions.
