    Pork quesadilla

Ordered beans and cheese burrito and pork quesadilla. Wow, surprisingly good. The burrito got better with every bite. The pork quesadilla was good from the first bite. You know how sometimes you make some cup ramen and ask "what is it that makes this so satisfying?" That's how I feel about this place.

The people here are really warm and welcoming !! Cute Mexican place with good ambience. Loved the food and there are decent number of vegetarian options in here. Ideal places to get good Mexican food on the island

We came across this restaurant while visiting San Juan Islands. Hermosa is located just a short walk from the Friday Harbor Ferry Terminal which makes it very convenient for those who want better quality healthier food than what's being served at the ferry terminal. We tried their burrito, pork tacos, vegan tamale and one of my kids had a quesadilla. The lady that took our order was very courteous and offered suggestions and customized our items to our needs. Each items tasted wonderful and fresh. Even my kids finished all of their food and there was plenty of it because the portion sizes are generous. The place was busy at the time of our visit and every customer seemed happy and enjoying their food. The staff is a group of friends. They all were very friendly and appeared happy to work there. The super clean kitchen is in full view of the customers. You can see them prep and cook your food if you like. This place is small with perhaps 4-5 tables and seating for 10-12 people on the first floor, however they share outdoor seating space with other venues so if the weather is nice you can sit outside and take the food to go. The upstairs features a large bar area with additional seating but it's 21+ only. The bathrooms are cleanest I have seen which is a huge plus in my book. Eating at Hermosa was one of the highlights of our trip and we definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that appreciates good home made quality Mexican food being served in a clean and friendly envireonment.

Finally a Mexican restaurant on the island. We attempted to go to another one in the past. This was a fresh of breath air to see this place. I had an old fashioned, wife had a cocktail, and we shared nachos and tacos. They were very good. The place has two levels. Too and bottom. The owner said they just opened in 2018. She said they were at a different island. I hope to see this place when we bring our kids in 2019 back. It's not easy for us to get here. Normally 2 plane rides, an Uber, ferry, shuttle to the car rental and finally our vehicle. But it will be worth it.

Beef steeet tacos. Delicious but $11

Great little place located next to the ferry terminal in Friday Harbor. We had been meaning to try it all summer but just made it in this weekend. The menu is pretty limited to burrito, tamales, street tacos and quesadillas. We had the mondo chicken burrito, steak street tacos (3) and a steak quesadilla. I was a little disappointed that for the price everything was served a la carter and not served with chips and salsa or rice and beans. The street tacos were very good but 3 at $11 is a bit much to then add more $$ for chips and salsa or cans of soda so no refills. The owner was very lovely and there is a bar upstairs we didn't get to visit as we had kids with us.

    Coconut mojito... yes, please!

Meat tasted okay, portions are small, did not come with salsa. Mediocre for the price.

Staff are friendly and attentive, this is a cute local café for breakfast…read more On the first day I had a two egg breakfast. I chose the one called "Healthy Start" because when I travel I'd like to have some veggies or fruit on a daily basis to keep a good bowel movement iykyk. Honestly, I was kind of disappointed with the fruit I got. The strawberries were sour, the cantaloupe looked like a 38 year single dad had just pulled an all nighter and then headed for an 8 hour shift, and the pineapple was ok. The over easy eggs were good. They were actually eggy in a good way. You know how sometimes you have an egg and it literally doesn't taste like anything? That was not the case here. The bacon was the best, it was thick-cut yet crispy. And the sourdough was sourdoughing. My partner had the huevos on our first day, he said it was okay. On the second day, I had oatmeal. I don't know why, but when I read the menu, the oatmeal sounded so much exciting. But when I actually got it, it looked kind of boring, just like the one I make at home. It was good and did the work though. My partner had the "today's special," velvet cake toast. He said it was too chocolatey and the portion wasn't that big for the price. I had one bite, and honestly, I was fine with the chocolatey taste. So if you're a chocolate fan, you might want to try it, otherwise skip it. I guess if I had ordered my usual two egg breakfast, it would probably have been great.

Strong robust coffee, good stick to your ribs breakfast and good playlist on 70-90's music. Love…read morethey offer a big breakfast menu with dishes like chili relleno omelette and chilaquiles.
