The menu is highly miss leading from the yelp post, especially for the menu pricing. Online price…read moreis $10 for my French toast of 3 slices but current menu has 4 slices for 12. Also traditional Texas toast for French toast is nice and thick, these slices are paper thin. And the overall batter lacks flavor. The side ham for $4.50 is not worth it as the ham is paper thin and maybe 2.5-3 ounces. Whereas off island the ham would be 1-3-1/2 inch thick and 5-6 ounces. Ham should also be juicy, but B.C. this is so thin it's almost like Jerky would be, and very salty. When you go into a cafe that says Organic Orange Juice you are thinking fresh squeezed, this is obviously not the case here, definitely tastes no different than the Minute Maid I get for home. The coffee is not very strong either tastes a little watered down and a slight bit chemically from maybe them not cleaning the machine very well. Service is very lacking as well. Other than taking my order the server never came to my table again not even to see if I needed a coffee refill Would not recommend this as a place to stop when visiting Eastsound.

We only had to wait a few minutes before we were seated and the service was quick. We had good orange and cranberry juice. The breakfast burritos were BIG and filled to the brim. I had l pico, and avocado to my ham burrito and my wife added the same plus sour cream. It was reasonably priced and delicious! We were only able to eat half of our burritos which the waitstaff could tell, so they brought us a few pieces of follow with a chuckle to take home the leftovers.

Sadly not the same anymore as prior owner had it. Wouldn't recommend going to any more…read more Weird signs around the area for "pay for use" of everything, even $1 for a small peice of wood to burn. Parking lots for specific guests. Towels for "gold or better" guests. Oddly placed new amenities with picnic tables that have a large amount of weeds under it. No more hanging baskets or green grass. Staff is all gone from years past. Mansion is still closed and the store is now in the marina- weird. New roofed shelter by marina area but looks sub tier and out of place- grills are there now with benches. No wifi for boats in Marina.

My review is for the restaurant only. The spa is a solid five stars…read more I'm glad we ate here--the setting, the history, the ambiance are all stunning. The massive wooden furniture is impressive and surprisingly comfortable. This place has been loving restored and cared for. It was an absolute pleasure to be here and to sit on the veranda. The food was very average, although the Mansion Burger sounded amazing--maybe we just ordered wrong. The scallop/ halibut cake stole the show. I should have ordered two of those, along with the extraordinary Cole slaw ( best ever Coke slaw, imho). Sadly, we didn't stop at the scallibut cake, and the rest was disappointing; wedge salad, drowning in a watery blue cheese dressing, and overcooked lobster ravioli, served with four beautifully prepared scallops. I would return, but I'd order differently--just appetizers and skipping everything else. Drinks and scallibut cakes would make for a 4-5 star meal. The service, by the way, was just okay. She hadn't tried much of the menu, so she wasn't able to describe the dishes very well. She was great about checking on us and warning that the kitchen was slow (it was slow, but we loved taking our time and watching the sun set over the bay). Nothing was awful--what we ordered averaged out to be just ok.

We are so grateful to have celebrated our anniversary at this beautiful restaurant!…read more To summarize this review the experience is magical. The ambiance is cozy and warm, feeling like you are invited to dinner at your friends home, if your friend also happens to have an exceptional wine cellar, a farm, and is a wonderful chef. The way Duck Soup executes farm to table with such beautiful presentation is really a treat and the combination of textures and flavors was a journey that is worth a trip to San Juan Island alone. We had wonderful service and we were so grateful for recommendations on how to navigate through the menu! We started with the Spiced Carrots - they were incredibly paired with a salad, cracker, and cheese combo - perfection. For the main course we split the scallops and the filet. Scallops were served with fresh fingerling potatoes and this fresh, citrus/herb forward sauce that was so bright and refreshing (we are still talking about it). The filet was cooked great and served with a Demi glacé that was also just so perfect. the pomme puree was also flavorful and had a lot of amazing flavor on its own! Thank you Duck Soup for making our Anniversary memorable - we can't wait to visit again and again.

As advertised, they had pretty good duck!…read more Upon arriving in Friday Harbor, my girlfriend and I immediately made our way to our reservation at Duck Soup. Tucked in an isolated, forested area 10 minutes away from the downtown area, the restaurant was a little lodge building you had to drive to on a dark road. Was it worth the trip? Definitely! We were greeted by the servers right away and were seated right next to the wine bottle area. The interior of Duck Soup had a really cozy and warm ambiance to it; it felt like the ideal place for couples and families. We were first served bread with anchovy pate, which, as a bread enthusiast, is something I've never had before. This is something I certainly want to add to my food circle. Our main dishes were pretty good! My girlfriend got the House-Made Tagliatelle Pasta, and I got the Duck Cassoulet. Personally, I like the pasta more than my dish because my duck dish was mostly beans. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of the beans, the quality of the roasted duck was really good. Thank you to the Duck Soup staff for having us! This is worth a try if you're planning a Friday Harbor trip.
