Significant concerns about the work completed by Schwabees…read more Perhaps an indication of what was to come, I came home one day to find the pieces of my old fence sloppily strewn across a newly landscaped lawn. The other company working on my land stacked these pieces carefully in the street for hauling. The crew doesn't use tools for measuring, cutting or alignment. Cuts look like they were made with a butter knife. Heights were unmeasured and uneven. Basic fence construction tenets (adding a cross bar to prevent bowing) were not followed. The two gates drag on the ground. Odd placements of random pieces of wood gave a haphazard look to the work. While the individual people are pleasant, the work is not professionally done. Of most concern, the owners are either unaware or unconcerned about this. Ultimately, it is their responsibility to oversee the work, coach and develop their employees. The owners were on site for the work, so again, very disturbing that they would accept the quality as being passable. After multiple requests to right the situation, I was told the fence is done and any further work would be at my cost. My experience mirrors other reviews posted about Schwabees. I ended up paying another company to fix the work. I am very pleased with the corrections the other company was able to make and can now put this (expensive) chapter behind me. Schwabee's was unimpressive on all counts.

After three days I emailed and did get an email response right away, which was that "We are booked out for estimates for a couple weeks." After another month I still haven't heard from them.

When we first purchased our house, we had some reservations about the build of our raised deck over…read morethe driveway. We knew it was an early 80's build, over 300 sq ft, and looked sturdy enough, but certainly wasn't the greatest construction. Over the years we patched it up ourselves, but it became obvious this winter that it needed some expert work. We reached out to a few deck companies to see what could be done to fix it within our budget. Ironwood was the most prompt response we received. After informing them that I am immunocompromised, they offered to give us an estimate via email to reduce contact. While we had hoped the deck could be fixed, Wagner made us aware that, while they would be happy to patch the deck for a few years of additional service, it was not built to the appropriate safety standards and that replacement was a better option. They also agreed to rush along our project as they were worried about the stability of the deck, seeing issues we had no idea even existed that made it demonstrably more dangerous for our family than we'd thought. The process moved very quickly after we signed the contract. They brought samples and left them at our door, measured the deck without contact, and were always prompt and thorough in responding to emails. They showed up every morning at 7, and completed the deck within 2 weeks. They were not only exceptionally respectful and kind to the adults, but they-Frank, in particular-made an effort to speak to my kids every time they saw them. While we could have gone with a fix, we are incredibly happy with having had a new deck put in, instead. Although we did receive less-expensive estimates, Ironwood's build quality is above and beyond what we could have ever hoped for. I'm pretty sure we could host a party for elephants on there and it would hold up just fine. I can not recommend Ironwood enough.

We commissioned Trinity Outdoor Design to build a pergola and deck for us (will update with a photo…read moreonce we finish landscaping around the area). Overall, we are extremely pleased with the exceptional work demonstrated by Trinity Outdoor Design. Their quality of service, communication throughout the project and the final product exceeded our expectations. We had needed some accommodations regarding when the loudest construction would take place which they respected and they even finished the project earlier than anticipated which was greatly appreciated. The only feedback we have is that we had hoped to work together to resolve a misunderstanding regarding something we needed done for the project that turned out not to be included in the original estimate, and was a little disappointed that they didn't follow up about the issue at the end of the project. We believe that if there had been a little more communication at the end of the project, their service could have been even more exceptional. Despite this, we could not be more happy with the work that was done and would highly recommend Trinity Outdoor Design's services. Thank you again!

Unlike other contractors who bid on the same job, Trinity carefully examined the issue to understand possible root causes, and then talked me through exactly what they would do and why it would prevent the issue from returning. Trinity's bid wasn't the cheapest, but their reputation and communication made me much more confident in the investment, and I'm glad I chose them over the cheaper options. I highly value communication in a job like this, and Adrian exceeded all my expectations. He talked me through all the options, and shared regular updates about the start date and what to expect. Antonio did a great job knocking out the work, and the end result looks perfect! I would certainly recommend Trinity to anyone, and I'll be contacting them again when I'm ready to redo my deck and patio!

We called Decks By Caio and Wagner came out immediately to give us a reasonable quote. We really wanted to have a full redwood deck since that was what we were used to having and loved the feeling and look of wood. To our delight, Wagner made that happen for us. We had certain specifications we wanted for the deck, and again that was no problem for Wagner and his team. Throughout the entire process, there was direct and clear communication between the foreman Frank, Diiego our builder, and the whole Decks By Caio team. They arrived when they said they would arrive, and when they left each night, Diiego cleaned the work area so it was not a hazard for us or our dogs. When building the deck, Diiego made sure that the patterns on the wood flowed to produce a beautiful visual to the eye. From start to finish, working with Decks By Caio was a joy. I would highly recommend them if you're looking to replace or build a new patio.

Wagner and his team are stellar. We can't recommend them highly enough…read more We own a 50 year old home in the country, with an existing large (40'x13') deck in back above a walk-out basement and patio (the deck is elevated about 8 feet). The joists were starting to rot, so we knew it was time to replace it. After interviewing several builders, we settled on Decks by Caio. He walked us through the various options and some changes we'd like to make. We decided the new deck would be slightly larger (44'x14') to accommodate stairs at one end plus a long ADA-style ramp at the other running along the side of the house. We chose TimberTech PVC decking, which is attractive, durable, and highly fire resistant (a big deal out here) in a simple two-tone "picture frame" style, which looks gorgeous. Underneath, the decking is supported by steel joists atop some really beefy yellow cedar engineered beams. The difference in quality between the old deck and the new is night and day. If that was all I was judging on, this would still be a rave review. But, as I alluded to, there were some surprises along the way. The first was that the primary decking color we'd chosen was discontinued at just about the time we chose it. But Wagner was able to locate and obtain enough to complete our project, buying it ahead of time even though our project wasn't scheduled to be built for a couple of months. Another was that it was irrigation season here, which raises the groundwater level and caused the holes dug for the caissons to fill up with water. We had to wait a few weeks for the water level to subside before we could pour, and Wagner's team took additional precautions by adding a water barrier to help protect them The biggest surprise had nothing to do with the deck at all. Turns out that decades ago a previous owner had built an unpermitted addition to the house. We didn't know it, but the county spotted it when Wagner went to get the deck permit, and insisted on it being remedied. Wagner was able to get permission to start the deck while we went through the "as built" permit process for the old addition. He was a huge help, and even got his structural engineer to do the engineering assessment they required. There were enough issues with the addition that while the deck itself was finished in a matter of weeks, passing all the inspections too almost a year. Again, this had nothing to do with Decks by Caio - in fact, we had multiple inspectors compliment us on the deck while still finding "one more thing" that needed to be fixed in the old addition. It was a bit maddening, but Wagner and his team handled it all with patience, professionalism, and humor. The good news is that this means we've had nearly a year of enjoying the new deck before writing this review. It's still terrific, and once our budget allows, we are looking forward to working with Decks by Caio again to add a pergola and extend the patio as well.
