I live on a road that is a slight up incline. There is a blind bend in the road that you can't see ahead to see if anyone is crossing the road, due to it being a residential area, with a stop sign at a four way intersection at the bottom of the incline and the speed limit is 35 miles an hour. One of Waltons drivers was speeding down to the blind curve and didn't slow down. As he came through the bend I was crossing the street watching for any vehicles coming because of speeders like him. He scared me and I yelled to slow down. He gave me the finger and did a hand jester indicated I jerk him off as he was driving away. I attem6to call the company and Noone would answer the phone. Walton previously told me that if I converted to gas heat (my oil furnace was over 60 years old and due to break at any moment), I could have the remaining oil pumped out and sell the tank for money back. They didn't tell me that the conversion to gas must be done with them and on top of having to replace my heating out of the blue, Walton is charging me over $1,000 to break the contract when they can sell that oil to another customer. I've been waiting almost 4 weeks and still don't have an installation date for our humidifier. I wish I had gone somewhere else.

We are very disappointed and dissatisfied with our experience with Walton's. It was filled with dishonest business practices and unresponsive customer service. We started smelling oil outside our home and called Walton's to investigate (we had a service plan with them). The technician who came out told us we legally had to have the tank removed that day due to the amount it was leaking and was surprised at the amount of rust on the tank. The tank had severe corrosion, pitting, rust, and leakage. Our oil tank obviously wasn't inspected thoroughly at our yearly servicing that happened just a few months prior. After the removal, we were sent an invoice for the removal costs as well as an estimate for the installation of a new tank. The estimate for installation also included removal costs. We called multiple times to verify that was correct and that we wouldn't need to pay the initial invoice balance if we chose to use their service for the new tank. However after the installation work was done, we were told actually we did have to pay the initial invoice. We would not have gone with Walton's for the installation of a new tank if we knew that was the case, which based on our multiple assurances sounds a lot like fraud. We tried to resolve this issue and come to an agreement multiple times but consistently dealt with unresponsive people like Michael Smuda and Chris Walton. After Chris Walton called to deliver an ultimatum (pay or be sent to collections) after not getting back to us for over a month like he said he would, we were getting ready to take this issue to small claims court as we still feel wronged by this company. We decided to pay it just to be done and have switched to a much better local company. This was by far the biggest issue we dealt with at Walton's, but certainly not the only one. We hope never to have to do business with a company that clearly lacks integrity like Walton's again. read more

Had a boiler installed and loved the sales guy we worked with - he made it clear if we paid in full promptly they would include a small discount. There were some issues after install with the wiring after the job was complete which we were understanding about and allowed them to come rectify the following month. Then the holidays hit and after one month was able to connect with billing to pay IN FULL and we were informed that the "prompt pay" discount we were promised was no longer available to us. I asked for a little grace and understanding on the one month and got told to pound sand that that I was being "confrontational" simply for asking to pay what we were originally quoted due to the correctional work they had to come do and Christmas time craziness. Explained paying in full was part of the reason the sales guy said we would be given a small discount and we were still doing that....but NO - not honored and not what company did, so we asked about our payment plan options since there was no discount anymore and the owner himself told me NO - they would not work with us on payment plans and then threatened to sue me for non-payment and try to come take the equipment back like I was some monster if I didn't pay the new bill with all of the additional charges in full today! Really nice way to treat a busy hard working mom of 4 kids under 10. This company lost all of my respect and our future business. We ended up paying in full and lost over $1,000 due to miss communications between sales and billing and a company owner who doesn't know how to put his customers over his own greed...find someone else to work with if you don't want to get bled dry for your hard earned money. ZERO grace and ZERO flexibility with Walton...sad to see how they are running this once community respected company into the ground. This is NOT how they used to do business. Such a shame. read more

I used Walton for the first time to replace my water boiler. The process was smooth. I was happy about it and even left them a good review in Google. Few months later the boiler stopped working. I called them back and they sent a tech the next day to check it. Tech turned it back on and said the problem was probably caused by few days of strong wind. They didn't disclose about fees and I assumed it was part of warantee. A week later we recieved a bill in the mail for "Diagnostic fee." We paid the bill and my husband told me not to use this company anymore as the quality of their product is questionable. I made the mistake of trusting them once more and hired them for A/C maintenance recently. That same night our A/C started having short-cycling issue and would only run for a few minutes randomly. We basically had no Air conditioning. I'm not going to call them again knowing they will take this opportunity to charge me again for "diagnostic fees" of a problem that actually occured after their tech did the maintenance. I'm going to another company to replace my entire furnace and a/c system -- which I had initially intended to hire Walton to do. read more

We were customers of Walton for 4 years. The company replaced and installed our new heating system. Every year we had annual heating system maintenance. Every year the purging of radiators and the clean up of the boiler were included into the annual maintenance fee. This year the technician included 40% ($120 fee) more for bleeding/purging our radiators without even notification/discussing with us that it will be an extra fee and not included in our yearly maintenance check. We tried to resolve the issue of the inflated bill with the manager in the Walton office. Instead of keeping loyal customers, he argued that the work was done and we have to pay all of the charges. This shows that Walton doesn't care about the customers and only about making a buck by inflating and padding their bills. read more

ENDANGERED MY FAMILY. Went to Walton today to let them know my heater wasn't working. It set off the carbon monoxide detector in the middle of the night, and I had to turn it off. It is cold in the house. My four year old and seven year old are in danger, my 75 year old father lives on the first floor, the carbon monoxide was being generated in the basement. I was told they would have a technician here today to at least diagnose the problem, until I got a call from the technician telling me he couldn't come until tomorrow. I get to choose if my kids die from carbon monoxide poisoning or if they freeze to death. thank you Walton, the Moyer tech will be here in an hour. The suggestion of the replacement was made to my elderly father. The red warning label you hung from the shutoff switch telling him not to use the heater moving forward was in the basement, which is inaccessible to him because of the stairs. I am happy to see that my review prompted a follow up to this dangerous situation three years later. I appreciate you (finally) taking the time to be concerned, now that your Yelp star rating has been affected. read more

We have had Walton for a couple of years now. Each year without fail, we run out of oil despite being on their "service plan". This year we even called when we noticed tank was less than an 1/8th full - Walton said not to worry, they would be there the next day. Of course, no show, and we ran out of oil on a cold January night. Still was a chore to get them to come out and fill us up and restart the system. We also have been problems with fluctuating temp on hot water heater - from lukewarm to scalding. Two weeks ago they diagnosed the problem and said they would call back with cost and schedule to fix it. After three calls to Walton to get status, they said they "finally found the part", but still have not given us a schedule repair date. [Just for reference, I found the part at a local plumbing supply house after about 20 minutes of phone calls.] read more

The folks at Walton did awesome work on our whole system install. We had a lot of issues with our oil backup and our heat pump and had an absolute horrible experience with other companies in the area. Walton and their team helped navigate us through to find the best system for us. We spoke with several of the salesmen, techs and service team and each explained everything clearly and did great work. Chris, the owner, even followed up to make sure we were happy with the install and new system. Cannot say enough nice things about this company. Waltons will nickel and dime you til you bleed. Purchased an expensive high end HVAC system. There is no maintenance required in the first year of ownership. With the purchase, Walton's provided a certificate awarding a free year of maintenance starting at the anniversary of installation, that is - the first year of required maintenance. Our contract also included the purchase of an optional extended labor warranty stating the "second year maintenance visit" would be free. We understood therefore that the first and second years of maintenance would be provided without charge. However, at the start of the second anniversary of ownership, the second year of required maintenance, Waltons charged for maintenance, arguing that the free visit was for the second year of ownership, when the unit is one year old and the optional warranty clause did not provide additional benefits to the separate certificate. So when the unit is one year old, Walton's considers it a "second year" maintenance. What is clear is that the Walton paperwork is poorly drafted and ambiguous at best. And Walton's will construe their poor contract language against the customer's interests. read more

Can't say enough good things about Walton Oil. I'm on a budget plan -- pay a little in for 10 months out of the year and they automatically deliver oil. I have had a billing problem or two over the years, but nothing that wasn't taken care of with a call to the office. I've never run out of oil. Delivery man is friendly and courteous. I buy the service plan every year and have the heater serviced. The technicians are friendly, clean, and competent. Never had a problem with the heater that wasn't made right. I've called them out for funny noises and smells, no problems. I've called them in snowstorms, no problems. I've called them late on Sunday nights, no problems. Love these guys. I heard they started doing plumbing now, too. While I hope to not need a plumber, if I did, I'd call Walton's. read more

Last night our Central Air stopped working, I called this morning and they were able to get technicians out by noon today. The technicians were polite and courteous, quickly diagnosed the problem, installed the necessary part for a reasonable overall price. They never delivered my oil last week. I called Wednesday morning and was told it would be delivered by Friday. During blizzard 2016 weekend I had to keep my heat between 55-60 to make sure we didn't run out of oil. When I spoke to someone Monday morning they could have cared less. He said they have to take care of their full service customers first. They couldn't guarantee oil could be delivered today because of the roads. Then they said they could get me 10 gallons! Why bother driving to me for 10 gallons, just fill the tank. I was very disappointed. I have used them for a few years now. When I called last week I knew they weren't the cheapest but I stuck with them anyway. Now I am scrambling to get oil before leaving for work. Last thing I need is freezing kids and pipes. read more

And the installers were so careful. Put down tarps throughout my house and wore the booties to protect my floors. The guys were the nicest and so professional. We were a Walton customer for over 20 years. We had a new system installed sand within 1 year we notiiced large amounts of rust in the heat exchanger service ports. To encapsulate, Waltons tried to fix the problem over a period of years, only because we prodded them to do so. In the end, they couldn't fix it Our lives were in danger if the heat exchanger rusted totally. After a GREAT amount of time and effort spent on our part, we were able to find another (Rydal Heating- highly recommended) who worked with the manufacturer and they determined the problem - the A/C drip pan was installed too close to the heating unit (only 1" and manufacturer specs said 6" or more). Obviously we severed ties with Clyde Walton Inc. and are grateful that it only cost us 5 years of aggravation and not the lives of our family. read more

Tech did thorough job diagnosing heat pump problem. I was initially dissatisfied that first appointment was no show and rescheduled along with being charged more than quoted. BUT, customer service was great as I had a follow up call and refund of the disputed amount. Tech did great job and found issue that required replacement of system, I would have wasted more money had I tried to have serviced. I decided on using Omni Heating and Cooling for new install, but Clyde S Walton was a close second; I would recommend. First unit failed twice within 9 years, bad install by Stanley Cooper. Moisture in system caused unit to fail 2 years after install, I had to pay $2000 for service and new install as Lennox only covered parts and blamed installer. Second failure confirms that you should stay away from Stanley Cooper! Clyde S Walton is one of the few local hvac contractors I would be comfortable with. Very professional. read more

So Walton's acquired G Nase and Son earlier this year. I had G Nase for years and loved their personal service. So being a new "client" of Walton's, I submitted an online request for service and to sign up for a plan. I got an automated email confirmation but no response for 2 to 3 weeks. Unacceptable. Then I called today to follow up and they said I couldn't get a cleaning until almost March 2020. Wait...what? What happened to 2019? I've been a client all year and they never reached out via mail or phone to ask about getting serviced? Totally unacceptable and not the service I have been used to getting! Why would a company acquire other companies and then not properly service them? Sounds like an MBA case study for how to NOT run and grow a company successfully. They never even apologized for these issues. Bad planning and management for sure. This is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I hope Walton's paid a ton of money for my old oil company and that all of their new customers leave due to this terrible service. It feels like they didn't have a clue how to properly grow through acquisition and the new clients are suffering. Lots of good reviews on here. Maybe they were good at one time, but not based on my recent experience. I'm off finding a new provider. Probably Moyer. I hear good things about them. Very disappointed in Walton's. Jason was here yesterday to service my oil burner and AC. He arrived promptly, recognized that he had been here before, and proceeded to complete the oil burner service without leaving any mess. When he moved on to service the AC unit, he discovered that the condenser fan was not working. After disassembling the unit, he was able to restart the fan without further difficulty. The whole job was completed within about 2.5 hours. I have been a Walton customer for the past 5 years, having changed from one of the "big name" dealers.I continue to find Walton helpful, responsive, less expensive, and easy to deal with, and I would recommend them to anyone without reservations. read more

They have always answered any questions, returned calls promptly and have kept up with reminders when furnace cleaning or contract renewal is due. FIRST TIME CUSTOMERS WITH WALTON WARNING: We had an emergency with our Air conditioning and called twice. Husband (he called on time, before what they consider "after hours") was told he has to wait until Monday (today is Friday 09/15/17), because there are NO technicians available. I called again and the lady told me the technician will come in an hour BUT I HAVE TO PAY THEM $ 144. SO THERE WAS A TECHNICIAN AVAILABLE BUT SINCE CUSTOMER IS DEALING WITH A PROBLEM THEY WANT TO SQUEEZE SOME MONEY OUT OF US. My husband called again and complaint about the charge. We signed up with TOM for a Silver plan. When the technician came for the first time, my husband asked Tom if they will be sending two different guys (one for the AC and one for the Heat) but we were told no, just one guy who checked the heat. We were still waiting for the other guy. Today we were told that TOM made a mistake and he gave us a different plan and that is why we needed to pay extra money. I asked the lady on the phone how long has Tom been working for Walton and her answer was: "for many years" If this is the way they treat their FIRST TIME CUSTOMERS...I do not want to know about the rest. At this point I will be more than happy to look for a better company who really cares about their clients instead of getting extra money from them when there is an emergency. Making this kind of "mistakes" in their favor and surprising the customer when an emergency occurs is not honest. Save the headache and look for a better company. When you sign up with them, they ask you to fill a review, that is why they have so many stars, but the review does not reflect the actual experience of the client when dealing with emergencies. We have had nothing but trouble with Walton. They did not adjust the price on water damage that was done to our ceiling after blowing out the pipes when repairing the furnace. ( We would have been happy with an adjustment) (That total came to $2200.00.) When you try to deal with people in the same office they either don't communicate with each other or they just don't care. Telling them not to do something and not to charge you and they still do it and then of course charge you. They have a great reputation I understand but after many phone calls, we are still dealing with problems. read more

Since my Inlaws had used the company for heater and oil service we called for a Heater cleaning. Since this would have been a one time cleaning to try it out we were put on the bottom of the list without any idea when we would get our heater serviced. First of all, oil was delivered to my home when it wasn't supposed to be. Then I was stuck with a $600 bill. I spoke with their customer service and was told they would split the payment in half. Okay. Then I get one payment ticket for the first $300 and send in my payment. I'm waiting the whole next month for my next payment ticket so I can finish getting this paid off. The bill never came? So I called the place and asked why my bill was never sent and I know that payment is due. They told me I wouldn't receive a payment ticket for the second payment. Why? This makes no sense... how am I supposed to submit a payment without a payment coupon to mail in? Then last night I get a nasty email from their collections lady Gwendolyn saying it's of concern that my first oil delivery payment wasn't received as promised. Well you never sent me a payment ticket, how am I supposed to make a payment?! Awful customer service and a company clearly lacking common sense. Very unpleased with this company. read more

Plumber did come right out when I called the heater wasn't working right. Called around 4:30 and plumber arrived about 4:45 pm. He was here 5 min said he had to go out to truck and didn't return till 5:10 pm. Opened heater door 2 min later said needed to order a board. Didn't see him touch anything other than filter. He had a attitude from the time he arrived like he was ticked he had to come out. I bought this heating system from this company so that is why I called them. When I asked if the part would be in tomorrow he said with attitude he didn't know that someone would be in touch. No heat and no idea when it was getting fixed. He said he needed 124.00 so I handed my credit card and he said he didn't take credit card. I said well I don't have cash so that was a problem. He went back out to truck and got someone from office to take cc. He was gone by 5:15 if that says anything. Wont be using them again. Update to this review is that they sent new tech out today to repair heater and didn't charge me for previous days tech. This is the customer service that I always knew from Walton plumbing.
