Should I say Welcome to our rotation? We cut down our Christmas tree today and tried to use our old stand. What a pain... After my wife and I decided we shouldn't kill the other person, I looked online for a new stand. I knew what I wanted, but never wanted to get it since our stand used to work... Amazon would have it here on Tuesday... No other stores have it around here... Oh, Ace has it. Not all of them, but then I told my wife we're going to Harleysville. Twenty minutes later after a quick trip on the turnpike, we arrived. Friendly staff everywhere. The first thing I noticed was how clean it looked. Not really used to hardware stores looking like this. I got what I needed and my wife bought an additional four things. While waiting for her, I believe I was speaking to the owner, Don. Very nice guy and I can tell that is why everyone else here was so pleasant and accommodating. It starts at the top. If that person demands people to act the way he does, being nice becomes contagious. Ace is in the rotation now, well not any Ace, this one... We'll come back in the spring to look at flowers and we'll stop back at various holidays to see the seasonal products. Oh and the price of what I bought was five dollars cheaper than Amazon... And I got it same day... I also don't have to pay a toll, but in this case, I wanted to get my tree up, the lights up, get some water on it, and sleep so we can decorate the entire house tomorrow. My husband and I came here to buy a Christmas tree krinner. The old tree holder we've been using is all rusted and our tree wasn't staying up in it this year, it kept leaning back and almost falling over. So we rushed here to get here like an hour before they closed on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, because they are closed on Sundays. We made it in time and I had time to look at all the seasonal decor. It was a very nice store with a lot of decorations. I ended up buying a few twinkling starburst/snowflake lights. I was looking for these. My mom bought some at target but these looked better. I hung them on my front porch. The prices weren't bad either. Also picked up another set of bubble lights. The staff were very friendly as well. We tried to come back this Saturday to see if there was any discounted Xmas decorations left while we were in the area looking at Christmas lights. The yelp time wasn't right, yelp said they closed at 8:00. But on their website and on google it said 6:00. My husband's the one that told me it closed at 8. Next time I'll have to look myself , he never double checks anything. He probably lied to me on purpose because he doesn't want me to buy more Xmas decorations, haha. We'll have to try to make it back again another time soon. And I will definitely be back to check out other seasonal decor. read more

I wish this location was closer to our home it's a great store! It's an enormous store filled with everything you could need for indoor and outdoor living! The staff greets you and asks if you need help and the store itself is well stocked and clean! They are also an authorized retailer for Ego products and do repairs for the equipment which is how we found them! They also have a wonderful garden center as well! This Ace Hardware is one of the best hardware stores I have been to. This store may seem small but it is filled with so many awesome products to look at, it feels like they literally have everything!! I'll never forget the time in 2016 when I had a (badly) clogged toilet and nothing was working. I came to Ace Hardware and got myself a large plunger, and it really helped to do the trick! (It was a different kind of plunger than the standard one, it was bigger and had more power). Thanks to Ace Hardware, the problem was quickly resolved! The staff is always helpful and friendly when I talk to them, the prices are fair as well. The parking lot can seem small and cramped if the store is busy, but the good news is if you don't feel like dealing with the crowded Main Street, then there's a back exit onto School Lane which isn't nearly as crowded!! Ace Hardware really is one of the best hardware stores around and if you are in need of anything remotely related to this kind of store, then Ace Hardware will surely have it. read more

Shopped at this store for over 20 years and spent a whole lot of money. Even came here rather than going to walmart, well no more. Purchased 2 toilet seats, 1 had one missing paint on the back of the seat, which you could not see unless you took it out of the box. Went to return the product and was informed they don't take back open boxed toilet seats. The seat was defective and you had to open the box to see the defect. Did Ace Hardware care, no. Called to speak to a manager and was placed into their vm only to have no return call. Sent an email to corporate Ace, and haven't heard back from them either. Swell bunch of folks who accept your money freely only to not even show the human courtesy of returning a once loyal customers call. We're done. True Value or Wehrung's is just as convenience. read more

I've been going here since 1991. Don is awesome. His dad terrific. There is no better hardware store anywhere in this county. They are absolutely the best. Don will get you anything he can, even if he can transport it in his car from another ace that may have just what you need. He remembers you like a friend. Period. And when it comes to price, I always thought all aces were the same price. This place has great prices, excellent selection of products from Flora, to decorative arts, to all kinds of bulk product. I'm here at least two times a week when it's not snowing out, and then I'm even there every other week when it is. Check out is super fast and efficient compared to any other hardware store. This review is purely for propane. The last three times I've gone here they're not filling propane tanks to the maximum. Full price, but I seem to be getting half-full tanks. The last time I got two half full, and one full one. I didn't notice it until I got home and realized the weight difference. Once I noticed my heater was emptying tanks faster I started to track dates and times of tank swaps. The last few tanks emptied after only 2 days. This last full one I managed to get has been going for 4 days straight, and it's still going. That's too many failures, and I'm not even going to bother trying to get my money back. I'll go to Tractor Supply from here on out where they charge by the gallon for propane. Consider the rip-off a parting gift. read more

Went to Ace to browse and buy a new smoker. The staff and manager was following all precautions to be safe during the pandemic. The smoker I wanted wasn't in stock but the manager and staff worked on other options and helped me to still make a selection that I was happy with. There was no pressure to buy a higher priced model and it was a friendly buying environment. The manager was so helpful that he even helped to load the smoker into my car! This Ace Hardware is the best. The woman helping me at the key counter had to deal with a... difficult customer on the phone while helping me but a) was incredibly pleasant and helpful, b) gave phenomenal customer service to the person on the phone, and c) made sure I got the key coupon, all while one of the other staff kept assuring me that it wouldn't take too long (I explained that I used to work customer service and that she could take as long as she needed). Then I ran into I think one of the managers on my way out and he noticed my bumper was all busted. He offered to fix up my busted bumper with some zip ties and did a marvelous job. Nice to be able to have a smaller more intimate hardware shopping experience, in contrast to Lowes or Home Depot. The staff there has also been helpful with any questions I've had. The only minor problem I had was purchasing a couple pieces of sheet rock only to find out when I went out back to pick up they were out of the item. I live in Harleysville, and frequent this store couple times a month. The staff makes it easy to get in and out with what I need. They have a counter in the hardware side of the store, and it always have a helpful person there. Whether it's plumbing, electrical, or finding the right screws, bolts, hinges or braces, they will walk you right over to that section and help you find it. I had an outdoor clamp on a railing that should have been bolted with stainless hardware. I slid the whole thing off and took it to Ace. Ken looked at it and suggested that he help me drill out the rusted bolt. After much struggling, he got it out, and ready to go back. Then he found the RIGHT bolt for the application. I think he knew how hard it would be, and didn't want to send me home to do it myself. That day, Ken was the embodiment of the Ace slogan read more

Staff is very helpful and store keeps good stock of popular items. Ace rewards card can be a slap in the face if you forget coupon. They will not deduct discounts from showing card or using phone number. This is probably an Ace corporate thing. I think this location is one of the few Ace Hardware stores that is successful in the Phila area. They are a dying breed. Their success comes from their loyal customers like myself.
