I was at the store on January 8, 2025, right from the get-go the friendly woman cashier polity asked if I needed any help to find something. As I was walking towards the hardware section I was approached by employee "Joe" who was extremely helpful in locating special slow burn buss type fuses and some small threaded screws. The staff here are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They often have an obscure screw or something that I need to fix an old piece of furniture or will help me come up with a solution on how to fix something. One time I went in and asked Carl how I could fix something and he told me a way, that didn't even involve me buying anything from them! read more

I've been there of dozen times and it's always hit or miss when it comes to courtesy from the staff. I went in the other day for a very small item. I was the only person in the store and there were two employees on the floor. One exceptionally unfriendly female employee, an older woman, stalked me and stayed with me, about 10 feet away, pretending to check barcode on the same extension cord for 15 minutes. As I struggled to find the electrical part I needed, she never offered to help, never smiled or even acknowledge my existence. I considered belting out a few bars of, "me and my shadow" for her, but she seemed to have absolutely zero personality so I just let it go. I get that theft prevention is important, but so is making your customers feel welcome and appreciated. For that repeated experience alone, I go there only for the occasional small item. I'd go a lot more if they showed more respect for their customers because they do keep a decent stock. But man oh man, where do they find these people and what kind of customer service training do they give them? read more

Called for information on my cell regarding a repair and was grudgingly put on hold for 18 minutes: called from house phone to be told they picked up and spoke for 5 minutes and no one was there. What??? Unbelievable! My cell was still playing the background music and she had no explanation. Asked her if she could see what line was still holding. I was told none. I went here needing some metric screws for a job I was doing nearby. They have a lot of screws and nuts so not being familiar with their inventory, I must have looked lost. A nice lady helped me and was able to find everything I needed. Just a great little hardware store read more

Not only is there an absence of any COVID-19 precautions, the owner and staff outright refuse to even acknowledge anyone else's concerns. Last week, I was in the area and decided to stop in for some gardening supplies and I was quickly stopped in my steps as I walked inside to see NO EMPLOYEES wearing masks or practicing any type of safe distancing. Went in to purchase a firearm on the recommendation of a friend. Bill behind the gun counter was extremely helpful and friendly. We talked home defense, gun size differences, ammo calibers, etc. for a long time (in between him helping other customers). He special ordered the gun I wanted since they didn't have the exact model. Will definitely be a return customer! read more

Wow! I wish I would have gotten names, but this place really surprised me. I walked in, and was greeted immediately with a smile. (I am in my young 20s so many times people just smile and move on helping people who look like they have more money than I do) But that wasn't the case here. The man asked me what I needed and brought me to where I needed to be. He wasn't pushy to try to sell anything, he genuinely wanted to help. I got everything I needed and felt great about it. I got to the cashier and she was equally as nice to me. Struck up genuine conversation and talked like old friends. Very happy with my experience and will for sure go here instead of lowes and Home Depot. Speaking of which, the place looks small from the outside, but it has a ton of stuff in it! Pretty much only come here when I need to refill my BBQ gas tank. After paying for the refill inside, you take your tank to the filling area towards the rear of the parking lot, where someone will meet you to fill your tank. If your tank hasn't been inspected within the last 10 years, then they must perform an inspection before they will fill it. There is no-cost for the inspection if your tank fails, which mine did. They do sell empty tanks, both with a fuel gauge and without. A new tank with gauge was close to $40. In hindsight, it probably would have been cheaper to take my tank to one of those self-service tank exchange places and drop off my old tank and grab a new one. Employees are generally friendly though and they sell the typical stuff you would expect to find a local hardware store. read more

This is a great store with great people. There's a lot of negative reviews on here because they don't have a mask policy. I can't tell you how many stores I've been in (that have a mask policy) and there are PLENTY of people not wearing their masks correctly (with their nose completely exposed) or they're just using some flimsy bandanna. I'm not anti-mask, but I'm not going to die if I don't wear a mask at a hardware store for 15 minutes. If that's not for you, that's your choice and I respect that. But I don't think they deserve all the negative reviews because they think differently. read more

I love coming here!!! Every single time I come in the staff is so helpful and friendly!! My PECO bill skyrocketed this winter and we rent so I'm not familiar with doing a lot around the home. This morning, I went to Limerick Hardware and purchased six vinyl number stickers for my mailbox for $8.84. When I tried to apply the first sticker, it ripped and part of the sticker bonded so securely to my mailbox that now I can't get it off. When I try to peel it off, the sticker breaks up into little pieces. I gave up and tried to return the rest of the stickers to Limerick Hardware within a half hour after the purchase. But the clerk told me that I could not have a cash refund without my receipt, even though the same clerk who had waited on me just minutes earlier was still there! Now I have to make a THIRD trip just to get an eight dollar refund. But it gets better. I proceeded to Home Depot, where I was able to purchase much higher quality aluminum numbers for half the price. I will drive back to Limerick Hardware with my receipt and get my refund, but that will be my last visit. I received an unusable product at an excessive price and no customer service. Sorry, Limerick Hardware, but you're 0 for 3. There is simply no reason ever to go back. read more

Not a good place to return a defective item. I purchased a radiant dual burner tank top propane heater. Took it home, assembled it, and lit it up. The first burner lit and burned fine. The second burner would not stay lit. I brought it right back and the owners son wanted to troubleshoot it with me. Talk about wasting my time. It didn't work for him either. Next he's telling me I had to call the manufacturer and get an RA # and send it back to them. I guess he didn't understand the concept of brand new! This was unacceptable!!! He even had to bring out the manual and show me what the company procedures for a return encompassed, while I was getting my money refunded, so kind of him. His sister the cashier said that they were going to have to pay for it, as in eat it since again whatever procedure was not properly followed. Pathetic! There was no more of this model on the shelf, and because of the way I was treated, I wasn't going to bump up to the three burner model. If its defective right out of the box, give the customer his money back without any hassle. What's so freaking hard to understand when it comes to doing business and keeping the customer happy? read more
