Update: I am working on yet a new plan with the service Mgr. to make sure I know when the deliveries are coming. And, no, I am not always contacted before deliveries. This is incorrect. There are always notes to contact me. That much is true. However, the drivers sometimes don't read them. Sometimes ignore them. Sometimes incorrectly interpret them. I was tired of county propane automatically refilling my tanks without my permission and when they did not require refilling. I contacted them and they said they only way I could get off of their list was to buy the tanks. So I did. Yet they still kept refilling my tanks. Now I put a lock on the tanks. Stay away from these guys. read more

Horrible, deceitful company! Do not use! Previously, I had issues when I first signed up with company (I had no choice they own the tank). Prices currently, are sky high, and they are filling my tank every 3-4 weeks instead of 3-4 months. I never requested a change in my delivery schedule. Also, I only use propane for hot water and my dryer. When I first signed up they refused to put me on a delivery schedule because "I am a renter"! Terrible, just terrible! read more

County Propane is absolutely one of the best companies I've dealt with as a homeowner. We converted to a propane fireplace a few years ago and since my next door neighbor had been using them for years, I decided to go with them. Turns out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. If I ever have a problem, they try to walk me through a fix or come out, usually as soon as the next day. Whenever I need a refill on my 80lb tank, they can usually get to me the very next day. The driver always has a bone for my dog, which just shows the level of care County Propane has for their customers. This is definitely one of the top businesses in the area and you can't go wrong signing up with them. read more

I've been a customer of county propane since i moved here to downingtown .as a retired truck driver i hauled propane in to keep companies like county supplied .in my 35 yrs dealing with propane companys from the inside .there are many who treat their customers the way they should be treated .and many who treat you like dirt .im happy to say the people i have dealt with at county have been some of the nicest folks i've ever done business with .i've never been charged delivery or tank rental .and their prices are market rate or less never had more then $0.5 to $0.8 cent rise in price .even when i had a emergency delivery due to a leak while i was on vacation .they sent a guy right out no questions .i would think that some of the negitive comments i've read here are pretty one sided .im thinking there is a lot more to the story ? But everybody has a bad day customers as well as employees . As for me i think they are extreamly reliable and dependable as well as friendly .and have no plan of changing companys P.s. no i never dealt or knew them prior to becoming a customer lol read more

Good prices, reliable service, nice people to deal with.

Had a billing dispute with them when they charged for delivery service when they said it would be free. I paid for all the propane delivered (like 98% of the total bill) and then even agreed to split the difference on the delivery charge. They refused and filed a collection dispute on my account. On principle, I will not give into blackmail and it is too difficult to remove a collection from your record. So I spent a little time to warn others. I had been a customer for years and then I bought another tank so I could heat my shop. It was a hundred gallon tank and I needed it filled. I called around to see what the prices were and found that this company was charging almost a dollar a gallon more then others in the area. I own my tanks and I know there are not many around that can say that and you think you are trapped into there service but you can change with just a phone call. Needless to say I'm not with them anymore. I would suggest you check around yourself. read more
