We have had them servicing our home for decades. They are very good. It is a seamless process getting deliveries and paying for them.

After four months of no oil deliveries, Leffler Energy inexplicably decided to deliver oil to my…read morehome in the middle of a July heat wave--despite the fact that my home uses oil solely for heating, not hot water. There is absolutely no logical reason for this delivery to have taken place in the dead of summer. Naturally, I called to inquire why this happened. I was told someone from the delivery department would call me back. That was over two weeks and three phone calls ago, and I've still heard nothing. The complete lack of communication and accountability is appalling. If this is how they handle something as basic as a delivery inquiry, I can't imagine how they'd respond to a real emergency. This is a deeply disorganized, unresponsive company. Spare yourself the frustration and go with someone who values their customers' time and trust. Leffler Energy has made it crystal clear that they do not.

However, my recent experience on 12/4/25 was unacceptable and has ended my relationship with your company. On that date, I received 183 gallons of heating oil at $4.97 per gallon. After noticing that the average price for oil that day was around $3.45 per gallon, I called your customer service line to address the discrepancy. The first representative I spoke with said she would automatically take $0.10 off per gallon and could not do anything else until the truck returned and paperwork was completed. She assured me that a customer service representative would call back to negotiate a better price. After two missed calls, I called back and spoke with a gentleman who had a very serious tone and was unwilling to listen. He stated the bill was final and nothing could be done. When I expressed my concern about the significant price difference, he dismissed it and insisted on payment over the phone. I declined and said I would pay within 30 days. This experience was extremely disappointing. After two decades of loyalty, I expected fair treatment and reasonable pricing. Instead, I felt dismissed and pressured. I will never use Leffler Energy again and strongly advise others to shop around before choosing your service.

I called this company to get propane tanks and propane for our new pool heater. Nothing but…read moreproblems with this company. We had tanks dropped off and had to have them approve of the installation before they would supply propane. One of their employees did the inspection and tentatively approved but needed to take pictures and have another employee also approve. Propane was delivered but approximately one month later patriot propane told me the setup was not acceptable and another one of their employees would have to come and inspect the setup. That employee told us the current setup was dangerous and he would have to change it for $450. Ok, so we have had the setup like this for a month and now it is determined that it was dangerous?? That's extremely unacceptable! But, an appointment was made with us for this employee to come and fix the problem. The appointment was first a week later for 8AM to 8:30 AM. That day we waited until approximately 12:00. We called to see where their employee was and when he would arrive being that he was 4 hours overdue. I was told by patriot propane that the appointment was cancelled. So when were the going to notify us that the appointment was cancelled. This was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. So i told them to and come and pick ip their tanks and we will not be doing any more business with them. There were other problems also but to extensive to list and describe them.

Patriot came out same day, spent 4 hours with the tests and then refilled our 1000 G underground tank same day. We have 2 young kids and are super appreciative. Thanks for Bennett and Kim for coordinating and the team that came out.

They charged me 300 on my credit card. When I called they said it was because they always replace a nozzle and a filter. So if I had known they were going to charge me an extra $75. I would have said no. They would not refund it. I will never use them again. Mellingers was an honest small business. Too bad they got bought by price gougers.

'd give ZERO stars if I could…read more.. We've been a customer of Schwanger Brothers for the past 9 years and on their automatic propane delivery service. We have had them install additional gas lines in our home for appliances over the years and for the most part they have been a "satisfactory" supplier. However, their customer service has been slipping drastically the past few years and we were long overdue replacing them as a supplier. I wish we had replaced them sooner. Read on for the details. We have been on automatic delivery and the past two years now have had to call to get them to deliver when our tanks were low in January which is one of the automatic delivery months. The need for our calls to them were due to them missing their expected delivery periods, and each time when we called they have not been able to tell us when we are scheduled to deliver. Ever. Two years in a row, with January deliveries pending and tanks near empty they cannot tell us when they are going to deliver. These were our first red flags. .If you have such red flags as well kick them to the curb now before they cost you money This past January 2025 was the last straw. We were overdue for a delivery and had to call because we were low and would be away on vacation for a couple of weeks. They couldn't tell us when we would get a delivery (mind you, it was already past when we should have had a delivery, especially since Dec and Jan were record cold months for our area this past year). They had a technician stop by and rather than run out they suggested they put a portable tank onto our tanks to get us through until delivery. That was a Saturday. So, I called that Monday morning to ask when we should expect a delivery only to be rudely told they cannot tell us and that they were busy. Strangely, they delivered that same afternoon. Their systems, for lack of a better word, suck. They cannot tell you when you are scheduled, or if they can then they don't seem to be bothered enough to share that information. Well, to make matters worse, their delivery on that Monday (Jan 20th, 2025) was all gone two weeks later... a leak at the tanks no doubt, not inside the house, but all the propane was gone in just short of two weeks. We were away from home, on vacation, and have a smart thermostat, thankfully, and saw that our home heating was not working. Schwanger Bros took no, zero, not one bit of responsibility for our lost propane. They gladly tested our system, (supposedly) found no leaks, and filled us up and billed us for over $400, again. Of course, we were not home so we can only "trust" what they said about there being no leak (I don't trust them), but there were trusted HVAC techs at our home while we were gone and they could smell the leaked propane all around the outside of our home. We were home for 3 short days after the Monday delivery, but then away on vacation for 10 days. Oh the joy of travel! We returned home and since, for more than a week, the tanks and our appliances are holding propane, sipping propane, no leaks. Their last fill up the nearly 200 gallons lasted only two weeks...when it should and always does last more than two months. Their representative insulted us by saying "Well, it has been cold outside!" C'mon! Schwangers took no responsibility. They want their money. Today they lost a customer. This same information is going to PA Attorney General as a Consumer Complaint in hopes that others won't be scammed by this company. There are better local companies than Schwanger Bros. If you want a company that will not claim any responsibility when they fill your tanks and leave something leaking, then go ahead, use them, they are great for that... and only that! UPDATE - They also charged us $300 in labor to fix the leak they caused. So that's a total of $1100 for $400 of actual, usable, non-leaking propane. Our tanks and systems have since been certified. They are A-okay, now that Schwangers fixed the leak they caused two weeks ago... of course they deny they fixed anything, yet charged us for $300 labor!!!!
