This hourly rate was never disclosed to me when I scheduled the service. The technician himself told me that my furnace was in good shape and that this was a regular tune-up for him. I called the office that same day to address the issue, and the woman at the front desk confirmed to me that their tune-ups are $219. She told me she would pass my information along to Mr. Ferro. I never received a call from him and eventually had to follow up myself. When I finally spoke with someone, the explanation seemed to be that the technician had to perform a significant amount of additional work on my furnace. That does not match what I was told by the technician, nor what I understood was being performed when I authorized the $219 tune-up. I also contacted two other local oil companies afterward, and both told me that $438 in labor for a routine oil furnace tune-up was extremely excessive. My biggest issue isn't simply the price -- it's the lack of transparency about the $219-per-hour charge. If I had been told upfront that $219 was an hourly labor rate, I could have made an informed decision before authorizing the work. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Ferro. I feel the pricing was not transparent, and the way my concern was handled afterward was disappointing.

Bryan came out to our home twice during a snow storm to ensure our heat was taken care of. That is a level of kindness and commitment I have never seen before! We have a brand new HVAC system that is about 1 year old (installed by a big HVAC company - worst mistake we could have made). The unit has stopped working at least 4 times since its installation so I finally called Middletown HVAC yesterday because it stopped working again. I called at midnight and Bryan (HVAC expert) was at our house in less than 30 minutes! He installed a new thermostat and went on to another house for a repair. Mind you, a snow storm is coming and he was out repairing units for families until almost 2:45am! The next day we realized the new thermostat stopped working, which is indication that something was wrong with our initial HVAC install (done by another company). It is the middle of a snow storm and Bryan had a SNOW PLOW bring him back to our house in the morning to fix the issue. It turns out the prior company incorrectly wired the unit and the thermostat was frying itself. Bryan ordered the new part we needed, fixed the wiring issue and turned off the fuse to the HVAC to avoid a potential fire. He was so kind and explained every step of the repair and the issues he identified. Other companies said they couldn't send techs out for several days but Middletown HVAC had Bryan out twice in the snow! I honestly feel like they care for their customers' homes as if their own families lived there, which is such a rare thing to see!

He finally responded and apologize. Then told me he'll be there in the afternoon. Mind you, we are a little further from each other but if the distance was a problem, he could've told me and I would've went with other options but again, the schedule was set. So I was already expecting him. It was starting to get late and still nothing back yet, so I texted again and ask if he would like to reschedule? He finally got back and said yes to rescheduling so since he seems busy, I told him to get back to me at his earliest convenience. It's now February 10th. Our date was January 26th. I still haven't heard from him yet. Not only did I feel like this was a bad tinder date, now the problem that I had with my water heater just became worst. The issue was a burnt smell from the water heater that requires a professional flushing. Now so it's prolonged some more, the heater has burnt right through. It went from a flushing to a whole replacement. I'm giving them one star for flaking out. Should've been more straight forward about not wanting to take the job because my $200-300 maintenance issue just sky rocket into well over $1000. I have had these guys out here 4 different times and have gotten 4 different diagnosis. They came out in May and replaced my AC blower. Then when it was still not blowing cool air in June, I had them come out for a cleaning. They clean the system and then a month later it's not blowing cool air again. So they come out and tell me I need a new system. I rejected this so I had them come out a 4th time to do a full system diagnostic. I thought I was getting that with the clean I paid for a month earlier. I would have thought that would be the first thing they would do. Well...after the diagnostic, I come to find out that the whole problem was a dirty filter. I never replaced it. I swore I did, but I guess I messed up. I am not the professional though. The professionals should have caught this on day 1 when they replaced the blower motor. Or at least, they definitely should have figured this out when doing the cleaning in June. I honestly believe that they were just trying to make me feel like my AC was beat so that they could sell me a new system. The neglect doesn't just stop at not replacing or even taking notice of the filter, it gets worse. After the 4th service call last week, I go down the basement and noticed that the air filter is the wrong size by several inches. I ended up having to pay that guy 13$ for the filter. If it's 13$ it should fit right. You think they could of tossed that in after they kept screwing me, but no. The real funny thing was that they didn't even bother to clean the air intake. It was so caked and matted with dust and b.s. that hardly any air can pass through to the machine. How was this not a part of the cleaning. They also wanted to charge me an additional 6 hundred to clean dirty coils and interior parts. I am confused as to why this would be separate from the original cleaning and why was I not told about this before. never the less, tech #4 showed me pictures of the inside of my dirty system. So either that wasn't part of the original cleaning or it wasn't done properly in June. I will tell you that I am excited to not need a new system just yet. It is nearing its time but it truly feels that this company was just trying to speed up the process. I am including a picture of the dirty intake vent. Am I supposed to clean that myself? Really, I'm asking an honest question ? Should that be part of a system clean? If so, your technicians aren't working thoroughly.
