We shopped around for a replacement HVAC system with several local companies…read more Scatton's carries Carrier, which is the leading manufacturer of HVAC systems. I asked for quotes on both a mid and high efficiency systems. We went with the high efficiency system due to rebates and lower energy costs. Pricing was what I expected for a quality system. Installation was as planned. All of the installers communicated with me about what was happening and all totally respected my home. All debris was removed. System has been working great and I am glad we picked Scatton's and Carrier.

So we can't be fooled. The tech tried to tell us that we needed to replace the control board. That's a $2,000 repair. We said no, but still had to pay $300 for his service call. Then we called a competitor who showed us that our problem was a hypo-allergenic heater filter with a weave so tight that the heater shut down rather than pump more air through that filter. It cost us $150 for the other guy's site visit and $35 at Lowe's for a new, less tightly woven filter. Problem solved. Don't go to Scatton's.

WARNING: They are out to rip you off!!! I called Adam Mechanical/Adam Home Services when my hot…read morewater heater started leaking. I am a single woman, in a panic bc water was getting all over the floor! These were their prices: $3800 for a 50 gallon tank install and $6200 for an 80 gallon tank. But then they told me that I had to get the 80 gallon bc the wiring was not long enough for the 50. And I almost said yes bc I was desperate and didn't know any better. Yesterday I had a plumber install a 50 gallon hot water heater for $2100. There was no problem with the wiring. Adam Mechanical was just trying to take advantage of me and have me pay 3 times more than I should have! And so please be warned about what kind of company this is.

I can't say enough about Hophan Brother's Plumbing. They are incredibly knowledgeable,…read moreprofessional, and thorough. My first experience was with them installing an outside waterline in my house. During my second experience they went above and beyond what a normal plumber would do. I was on my honeymoon in Hawaii during the epic "Polar Vortex" of January 2014 when one of the waterlines in my basement froze and burst. My neighbor turned off the water but they came out the very next morning and fixed everything quickly and completely all while being very understanding of my situation. Their service allowed me to relax and enjoy my honeymoon during a very stressful event. For those that think they're expensive you're not thinking of everything plumbers have to contend with. Insurance, stock of parts, travel expenses. I found their prices to be more then fair, especially considering their expert level of service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I tried to trouble shoot on my on but to no avail. I called on Saturday AM @ 7:15 left a message and my call was returned by 9 AM. The gentlemen asked a few questions about what was going on but specifically if I could wait until Monday. Begrudgingly I agreed and the gentleman said someone would be there on Monday AM between 9-12. Needless to say I survived the weekend, thankfully my children were away. First thing Monday AM at 8:33 I received a call stating that the contractors were about 20 minutes away. They arrived right before 9AM as promised & got right to work. I didn't catch the primary gentlemen's name but he did tell me he was the son of the owner. He was so engaging and informative explained possible issues and once it was diagnosed got the heater fixed. They were here a little under 2 hours. He was honest enough to explain that I shouldn't waste anymore $$$ repairing this heater by explaining the life span and what my next steps would be. I'm totally satisfied and would highly recommend.

Just want to let you know, Rich is the Best Air Conditioner Man ever!…read moreWe called ECI yesterday and we received exceptional service today. ECI had installed the air conditioner a couple of years prior to my moving into my new home and we called ECI last year to check the unit and all was running well. He had some trepidations about the "Nest" thermostat that was installed by the previous owner, but I didn't want to change it, as I wanted to keep it for the convenience of being able to program it via my iPhone. Well fast forward today, July 30, 2019, the "Nest" went "Kaputsky." I have heard from others about their dissatisfaction with the Nest and therefore I decided to get the non-smart type thermostat. Rich installed it with ease and now my unit is up and running!!! Thank you so much Rich, "You the Man!" (P.S. Rich left the area Spic & Span Clean!!)

Had them out to replace thermostat wire late Sept and tech said it wasn't thermostat wire and everything was working. Next day nothing worked. Had them out again and they allegedly fixed. Next day not working again. They came out again to replace the control board and suggested replacing the thermostat. Next day it didn't work again. I replaced thermostat on 10/31. Still nothing. Had another company out on 11/2 after spending around $1k on ECI. Other company said ECI wired transformer wrong which kept blowing a fuse and that there was a short in thermostat wire which was replaced. System working fine now. First ECI tech correctly diagnosed the problem but everyone who came after thought it was something else. Will never use them again.

I have a Trane HVAC unit in my apartment, and I had some questions about it. I got a prompt…read moreresponse from the company, and found them highly professional to deal with. I looked at their website, and saw that they do duct cleaning, and the reasons for doing it. I called on July 3rd and I said I would like to hire them for the service. I gave them the square footage and and overview. They said they could see me on July 5th at 9AM. At 8:59AM a serviceman arrived. He explained what he was going to do and then went about cleaning the ducts. He said there was a moderate amount of dirt, and that he has seen worse. After he cleaned the ducts he vacuumed the unit itself, and then blew a chemical into the ducts that would kill any bacteria that happened to be there. I thought it was good precaution to take. He also showed me a better way to put the filter in the unit. I gave them 5 stars -- only because they didn't have an option for 6 stars. It's great to know there's a company like this out there.

I had scheduled my day around them coming--they didn't know the employees didn't come to work until 1215? There was no way they could have let me know sooner and respected my time? They asked if I wanted to reschedule for the next day or wait until they knew whether they'd be able to make the appointment I made. Wait, what? They're offering to give me another appointment window that they don't think they can make? Why would I ever take that option? I've decided to go with someone else. I wonder if Kanze would charge me a no-show fee if I wasn't at my house at the designated time...

I was so desperate for help and called Young and Bowman. I spoke with Dave. the owner. Dave spent time on the phone, asking questions and trying to find out what the issue was before he sent someone over. In the end, he sent a great serviceman, John LaRocca. He showed up so fast. I was relieved! John found that the system was running continuously, and was hot! He was very concerned, so he shut it down. Because they did not install the original product, he couldn't replace the back up battery. But, he shut it all down, preventing damage. And a potential fire! He then told me to call back the company that had installed it and make them come out today. Because of John's knowledge I was able to relay solid info to the other company and they came right down, preventing more issues like flooding. And...John never charged me for a service call.
