Just came back from this place. It was really good, better than expected for sure. And much better than any other hot chicken place we've been too. Had the sandwich and loaded fries, both excellent. I think we spoke to the owner, or one of the owners, and they said they had just bought the place a little while ago, so if you haven't been for a while might be worth another try. It's small, 3 tables, and some outdoor tables, but it was great, very nice employees, and a fun change of pace. Highly recommend. read more

Service here was really wonderful! Be sure to sign up online for coupons to save. Space inside is very limited, there are only two tables so prepared to take your food to go. Went to Palm Springs for a quick turn around. Ended up craving a chicken sandwich and wanted to see if there were any local spots I could try. Cluckin Bun did not disappoint I ordered their Jr Sandwich which is an excellent sandwich, it's big, flavorful and plenty of food if you're hungry. However, since I live far away I couldn't leave without ordering their loaded fries and DAMN those fries were fire . Seasoned Fries with pieces of spicy chicken, nacho cheese and you can add-on Mac and cheese with Cheeto dust for a few extra bucks. You gotta try em they were so damn good. Small yet cozy business. Service was great! We arrived, there was no line and they took our order right away. They have a T.V displaying their menus and what they have. Definitely not worth the hype in my personal opinion. The broccolini was my favorite item ordered at the table. ( party of 6) Pot pie was bland, chicken strips were "seasoned" but lacked salt. Mac and cheese was okay, chicken sandwiches also weren't anything special. Key lime was good. I unfortunately wouldn't go back. But if you do go, definitely get their broccolini! Anyway, my food was ready when I arrived. The place is small. The service was OK. I checked in on Yelp and got 2 free sauce. The loaded fries had plenty of sauce. It was pretty good. The crispy chicken in it was cut up. Some of it was crispy, some of it not. I also got the junior clucker. I ate it right away and I didn't think it was crispy at all, maybe I got the original? I checked my receipt and it said crispy so maybe the crispy is not how I envisioned it? The coleslaw was tangy and crunchy. I couldn't taste the Cheetos. The chicken was very big and juicy. Best chicken in the desert. The Junior chicken sandwich is quite large and filling with two pieces of chicken ( unlike some other chicken joints). The chicken is moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. the prices are very reasonable. I don't like coleslaw, but the sauce and pickles provided great contrasting flavor. The loaded fry's included chicken, ranch, and plenty of medium cheesy sauce which had a little heat and I am a wimp. The flavors all worked great. Service was great and friendly. There was a smallish seating area, but it was quiet inside. As far as the best specialty chicken fastish food/ food trucks Cluckin bun comes a close second to Chk-N-Out in Orange County. Small place in a hidden little corner but we were optimistic because of the reviews, the whole time we saw people coming in and out with GrubHub orders which just build up the anticipation while we waited for our food. I ordered mild because I get terrible heartburn and didn't bring my medication but that just means the sauce will be mild, if you're not a fan of spice you're out of luck because the chicken is all made the same which has a bit of a kick to it. A place with chicken tenders that doesn't have any knives? Interesting. There were two of us and we asked for forks and knives, and we only got one fork. Service was subpar and the food give us both stomach aches. It also only has three small tables so if you're coming with a big party plan on taking it to go. So I saw a review of Cluckin Bun and thought I should try it out. I really wanted to like this place. I like small businesses and want to support them. The restaurant is not a very appealing place to eat, so I chose to take-out. The prices are pretty high, not a good deal especially compared to KFC or even Caines. The chicken sandwich was decent but nothing special. The real disappointment was with the Mac & Cheese side. It was definitely not fresh and there was very little cheese. I've had package m&c that was far better. I also ordered a single chicken tender which was a bit stale and the matching sauce wasn't packaged with it so I thought they forgot it until after I ate it and found it in the bag that had a fork and napkins.
