9.18.22 It's been a minute since I've been here. Stopped by to pick up lunch for my hubby and me for his birthday before his game started. He ordered a Roman sandwich and I ordered 10 pc Honey Hickory Wings and a side of Old Bay fries and Clucker Bees (5 biscuits). We placed our order at 11am and were told the order would be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived a few minutes early and it was ready around 11:30. The manager (?) welcomed me upon entering and made small talk. Apparently they had a big order to prepare (1600 wings). Everything tasted great, loved the Old Bay on the fries and the honey on the biscuits. If I remember next time, I would just ask that they go light on the sauce because it was too much. Otherwise, it was still very good. It's definitely our favorite wing place in the area. Wish there was a closer one to us that is as good. If I could give 6/5 stars I would. I'm brand new to the area and had a craving for some chicken. Upon entry this appears to be a modest restaurant. But, instantly I was given welcome to Goodburger nostalgia as my server Silas greeted me saying "What's up Buster, welcome to Cluckster's". The service was great and my food was out in less than ten minutes. I ordered the three piece traditional death boneless combo with lemon pepper fries, a drink, and a side of nuclear sauce. Dirty restaurant with chairs on top of the tables, basically they don't want you to dine in. Paid over $150 for Super Bowl wings that were overcooked and dry, literally no one at my Super Bowl party went for seconds and guest even complained the wings were to dry. We used to go to the college park location until they closed and have been going to this location for the last few years with no problems but this time was horrible and even horrible customer service. The kitchen staff were even talking bad about customers trying to pick up their orders 15 minutes early. Man, Cluck U Chicken is like a thriving throwback at this point. The real deal last of the Mohicans. The menu hasn't changed much, and the food here is really good. The only thing about Cluck U is that you can run up a check quickly. For what they charge for just 10 wings other spots give you a whole meal with fries and a drink. The only thing is that them other spots ain't Cluck U. Outside of that, I may pop in on a rainy day for a taste of nostalgia. Definitely worth a trip! read more

The Only Review You Need To Read My daughter was craving some collard greens, so I did a little research and found this place. The menu seemed to have what we were looking for, so we tried it out. And the consensus was disappointment. The dark meat chicken was described as "juicy" (which dark meat typically is), but I didn't hear the words "tasty" or "delicious." The jumbo shrimp (of which I had a couple) was perfectly breaded, but lacked any distinct taste or flavor. And the cocktail sauce didn't help. The collard greens were "spicy" and "not flavorful. They were missing something because they just don't taste like anything." The sweet corn was not sweet; rather bland. And the mac & cheese was "....okay, I guess." In summary, the overall assessment was "Okay, we never need to ever go to this place again." Teenagers can be brutal sometimes, but hey - I'm just delivering the message. The two star rating was because of their selection (there might be something else on the menu that might be better) and the biscuit, which my daughter did not want, so I ate it. I did not get any buffalo wings here even though that is what Cluck-U-Chicken is known for. The wings. The pricing is very high on the wings here. Everything else seems to be reasonably priced. Came here with two friends. We got two 6pc tenders, jumbo cheese fries and fish & chips. The employee taking the order was very friendly and social. Also gave us a discount on our food because of the base. The overall place is small but still a lot of room to sit down with tables. Also the place was clean too. They had two AC's going but it was still a little hot in here though. But manageable. The food came out fast in like less then 15min. Also nicely packaged too. We could tell the food was cook fresh and it was hot because we could feel the bag. We all got home and sat down to eat. The chicken tenders were a very decent size for the price. Also definitely a good portion of cheese fires plus the cheese was thru the fries not just poured over the top portion. The fish and chips were also good. The only downfall is some of their food can be expensive but you get a decent amount for the price so all-in-all a very good place to eat. It's Christmas Day and the restaurant said open online but when I got there the guy said it was closed but he still allowed me to order so I ordered a garlic Parmesan chicken sandwich, Hushpuppies, and some nuggets with bbq sauce. If you don't know CLUCK U chicken I feel kind of sorry for you. Its kind of a cult following / college kids place but however you want to describe it's "niche" in the food world, it's DELICIOUS!! Nuclear is the sauce I normally get, lemon pepper dry season is also good. If your adventurous there are a lot of other sauce choices and also some spicy ones like 911. I've seen Cluck U on many occasions while travelling Annapolis Road. Parking on the same side of the street as Cluck U is limited but if you call your order in you'll save yourself the worry of waiting a long time. Basically, the price per wings averages out to about $ 1 per wing. I tried the lemon pepper (it's a rub) and the old bay wings. I enjoyed both. Monday - Wednesday they offer a military discount of 15% (check when you go as it may change w/o notice). No discounts offered on the weekend in a fair effort to earn some money. There is seating if you decide that you want to dine in. They only offer one sauce (ranch or bleu cheese) per 10 wings. You can split flavors if you want to try the other varieties they offer. I ordered 10 wings and opted to get 5 lemon pepper and 5 old bay. There was not upcharge to do this. Overall, I think if I was in the area and wanted wings I'd give them another go. read more

Delicious wings. HUGE crunchy and well sauced. My husband usually gets bbq bone in and I usually get traditional buffalo boneless. The cheese spuds and mozzarella sticks were also amazing. Wow, I was surprised. I always wrote this place off as a greasy fried chicken grab and go place so I didn't give it a chance. Finally tried it one day. WOW the wings are some of the best in the area, save for maybe the Hideaway but those are prepared differently. Large, meaty wings. I got the sweet BBQ and the Buffalo. Very good flavor and plenty of sauce. I also had the Roman sandwich. It felt like it had a Middle Eastern twist with the garlic and the chicken was of good quality. The service was also awesome. Each time I placed an order on the phone the staff was warm, patient, and accommodating. I didn't meet the owner but the staff mentioned him positively and that's a good sign. The delivery driver the time I ordered delivery was prompt and friendly as well. I suggest people give this place a chance when they're craving some wings to go. read more

I opened up their menu recently, and the first thing you see is "HEALTHIEST MENU IN TOWN!" I didn't know this Cluck U was located in Lardtown, USA. Granted, they are next door to a Long John Silvers, so I guess this is relatively healthy, but if you go to Cluck U to eat a salad, you're probably the type that goes to Fogo de Chao only to eat the salad bar, and we most likely can't be friends. Food - The wings are breaded and dunked in sauce. On the 10 or so occasions I've visited here (but who's counting?), the wings have had both a sizable girth and a good weight to them. It's been a while since I've done a wing review, but I like to break down the cost per wing. The fried mushrooms ($3.99) are also very good. Location - Located in the same strip mall as Grace Garden and Bangkok Kitchen, bringing this tiny strip in Odenton into the conversation of Most Delicious Strip in MD. Handful of seats inside with 2 big screens, usually playing ESPN. There's a few parking spots out front or you can find a fairly spacious lot around back. The liquor store/bar on the end can get rowdy on weekends. Service - 10-15 minutes and your wings are ready. Good group of guys in my experience. My first time ever having fried chicken smothered with honey, was here at Cluck U Chicken. I worked in the same complex as them so it was easy access. I dont come here often anymore since I work elsewhere. But when I did come here, I would either get their fried chicken with honey on top or their wings (Obviously). Caribbean Jerk. Honey BBQ. When we were stationed at Ft Meade, I LOVED, LOVE this place. I still visit Cluck U when we go back to visit family and friends. When we move back there next year, you can bet I'll be placing an order there on a weekly basis. My friends that I used to work with, think I'm sick or on crack.
