Haven't been here in a while from a previous incident but decided to give it a try again. Staff was a little friendly but made some good recommendations and gave honest opinions. I decided to go with the salmon caesar salad and a side of mac & cheese. Salad comes with a roll or cornbread. I choose cornbread. Mac and cheese was flavorful and definitely had plenty of cheese. The salmon had good seasoning all over and cooked perfectly. Cornbread tasted homemade. Overall good eating experience this time around. The prices are gonna be the prices. Overly priced IMO. You can eat in or take out.

Lots I could say about operations, but over all it was worth it. The wait was rather long and unorganized, but again the food was delicious! Wings and fish well seasoned and all the sides met expectations! I will say they played the music so loud, customers struggled to communicate their orders to the cashier! And not once did they lower it

First time in Southern Blues and I'll be back, for sure! Catfish (fried); four heavy delish filets!! Cabbage - tender yet not mushy & peppery; excellent Sweet yams ... soooooo good! If they did fried Chicken Livers I'd visit three, or more, times a week. Let's hope the owner sees this review!

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with the warm aroma of sweet, Southern soul food--just like grandma's kitchen. Here's a breakdown of my plate: Candied Yams - 10/10 Fresh, tender, and perfectly sweet. These were hands-down one of my favorites! Mac & Cheese - 5/10 Unfortunately, a letdown. The cheese tasted very generic and lacked that rich, homemade flavor. Not nearly creamy or cheesy enough. Fried Chicken - 10/10 Golden, crispy, and seasoned just right. A true soul food staple done to perfection. Whiting Fish - 7/10 Well-seasoned and cooked nicely, but I've had better whiting elsewhere. Seafood Salad - 4/10 This missed the mark for me. It had a strange aftertaste and just didn't sit right. Cornbread - 6/10 It was okay--moist but not especially memorable. Mango Lemonade - 10/10 Absolutely delicious! Perfect balance of sweet and tart--highly recommend. Customer Service & Experience - 10/10 The staff was friendly, and I didn't have to wait long at all for my food. That, paired with the welcoming atmosphere, made for a great visit overall.

I ordered takeout and the food did not disappoint. The Mac and cheese had a perfect sauce-to-cheese ratio and the candied yams paired well with it. My stomach and my soul was satisfied by this meal.

I chose Southern Blues for dinner from a Google search for restaurants near me. The pictures of the food and decor looked good. They were accurate! The food was delicious! My fish was fried fresh, the Mac and cheese was amazing and the collard greens were cooked perfectly. Service was also very good! From the nice young man who took my order to the sunny personality young woman who brought my food out!

Stopped here while in town for a quick dinner. Almost didn't go in because there's not a lot of tables and we didn't see the booths. Boy am I glad we decided to go back and look again! Yummy! Yummy! My family all got the surf n turf which was 2 pieces of fish and 2 chicken wings, 2 sides and a roll. Wow it was a lot of food! It was served piping hot! I got the veggie platter with cabbage, potato salad, candied yams and mac n cheese. Everything was good. I wash they had boneless chicken breast. There was no boneless meat. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I met another customer whose name was Charles. It was his first time too but his friends recommend it. I told him if it wasn't good I would come looking for him. Rest easy Charles! I approve it wholeheartedly.

My friend and I needed to buy some time and found this spot near by Cindy's hot shots. It was on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy. I ordered the smothered turkey wings, collard greens, cabbage, peach cobbler and a side of candied yams. The yams mixed with the collard greens and turkey wings were amazing!!! The turkey wings fell off the bone and it was absolutely mouthwatering! Wow! It was a heavy meal so I didn't finish it until the next day and it was also a million times better! I didn't enjoy the peach cobbler--it tasted like cake and was very very sweet. Honestly it was very much sweetness overload especially with the candied yams. The cabbage and the greens were seasoned well. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. There are a few booths to sit in, buy you can tell this is an order out type of restaurant. There were was nice art on the wall as well. The bathroom wasn't very clean and they didn't have paper towels. Overall, I would recommend for a tasty southern meal!

Entered the location with my family after a fried chicken craving. The setting was simple a few booths and chairs. R & b played in the background while we waited. Service was great, friendly and patient as we picked our selections. We all ordered the fried chicken leg quarter meal. Sides we tried were Mac n cheese, collard greens, mash potatoes with turkey gravy and french fries. All meals came with a small corn bread that was moist & not super sweet. The Mac n cheese was gooey, the collard greens were in a great broth, the gravy and mash were so tasty. Family was definitely happy with the chicken and would love to try more so can't wait to go back!

OLD brown bananas and soggy wafers - you JUST opened! Banana Pudding
    L B.

Huge sign says under new management. Eh. New or old, the Management needs to make sure to date/time stamp their prepared desserts. I'm mad I did not check my bag to peep they gave me OLD banana pudding! For the person that put it in my bag - you should be made to eat it. Even if you're not a fan of banana pudding, why would you give someone this yuck?! The display had fresher appeasing banana pudding which is why I got it plus they hadn't been open long. Otherwise, I would've skipped it.

the mashed potatoes and salad complete the meal perfectly simple sides but they make everything balanced I wouldn't change a thing about it

My fiancé and I have supported this local spot for years. It used to be a reliable go-to. But over time, something shifted--and now I know exactly what it is: the cook, Laura. On 11/28, I ordered steak and eggs. What I was served was not just unappetizing--it was dangerous. The steak smelled rancid, oozed a grayish liquid, and had visible discoloration. We flagged it immediately. Today, we returned to follow up and were horrified to learn that Laura had been explicitly told not to use those steaks because they were spoiled--and she served them anyway. Let that sink in. Why wasn't the meat discarded? Why did she knowingly serve it? Is she untrained, negligent, or something worse? And more importantly--why is she still employed? This isn't an isolated incident. Months ago, I stopped in for a quick lunch and became violently ill within the hour. I had to pull over to vomit and missed an important business meeting. I suspected something was off then, and from that point on, I would call ahead to make sure Laura wasn't cooking. Recently, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. That was a mistake. There's a level of disregard here that feels personal. When I asked to speak with her after learning about the spoiled meat, the staff refused and smirked like it was a joke. It's not. This could have led to hospitalization--or worse. This is a public health issue. Laura's actions were reckless, and the restaurant's failure to act is inexcusable. I'm mortified, furious, and deeply disappointed. Willy's was once a place I proudly supported. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Until there's accountability, I won't be back--and I urge others to think twice before risking their health here.

No blue cheese that I paid extra for and the burger was not cooked correctly it was cooked well done. Smdh. So the waiter brought me my blue cheese apologized about it and also gave me a mayo bottle. Even with the burger still was not good and the patty was so thick with no flavor not even salt and pepper was in it!! I tried their punch drink which was really good but for $15 a pop in a regular water glass was ridiculous. Make sure you don't get too tipsy as they already have like a 20% gratuity added on each of our checks no matter how small or big your group is which again is ridiculous! Will I come back...maybe only because I would like to try some Jamaican food they offer. But for brunch...it's a no for me!
