I'd say, this is my favorite of all the spicy chicken sandwiches in the IE. I got the Nashville style spicy chicken sandwich (very hot spice level) which came with slaw, pickles and their signature sauce. I'd say their "very hot" is equivalent to the "hot" from howlin rays or the spiciest one from babas. Makes me a little scared to try their spiciest one and I was given ample warning by the staff to see how well I handle the very hot first. The fried chicken itself was fried perfectly and was super juicy. The flavors of the spice also had much more depth to it (instead of just heat). Pairing that with the soft buns of the sandwich along with the cooling slaw and pickles really just was icing on the cake for me. 10/10. Btw. If you want honey, you do have to pay extra and they give it to u in a little cup. So make sure to tell them ahead of time while you order They're corn fritters we're alright. I thought it was a little too dry and bready. It'd be nice if they had a special dipping sauce for it. Their Mac and cheese was pretty standard. Overall, the chicken sandwich is on point! Cluck Kitchen joins a small group of existing hot chicken sandwich places in the area including Dave's Hot Chicken and Byrd's. Cluck is solid, the sandwich is a big piece of chicken breast topped with a generous amount of coleslaw on a brioche bun. The chicken breast wasn't especially juicy: it isn't entirely dry either but there were a few bites where I noticed the dryness. I couldn't help compare it to Dave's Hot Chicken which uses tenderloin and is noticeably juicier. The coleslaw is made with a vinegar base and it works very well in this sandwich. They put a 'Comeback' sauce on it which tbh I couldn't really taste? We got the medium spicy level which I think was a great balance to taste the spice while not overpowering the rest of the seasoning. Finally we also got a side of Mac and cheese which exceeded my expectations! It had good texture (not mushy) while having a good amount of seasoning and cheesy goodness. Overall I think I prefer Dave's over Cluck for the chicken juiciness and price: for a similar price you can get a drink and fries at Dave's which I think makes it more worth it. However Cluck is still really solid and worth a try if you're a hot chicken fan! read more

I feel like this is a recurring theme with my view on so many restaurants right now. It's seriously too damn expensive to eat out. A meal for three shouldn't run $50, but here we are. It's a damn shame too, because the food here is tremendously good. Expertly seasoned and cooked fried chicken wings, sandwiches, and nuggets. Creamy, gooey mac and cheese, and crisp waffle fries. The food is absolutely on point, and given the glut of hot chicken places available now, their food does well to stand out from the pack. But good grief, these prices. $19 for a chicken sandwich, fries, and a drink. $16 for two whole wings and mac & cheese. $10 for nuggets, fries, and a drink. And here's the worst part -- only one cup of sauce per order. If the prices weren't high enough, you're forking over another 75 cents for each sauce cup. The food prices are vicious enough without having to pay additional for sauce, but that honestly just puts me over the edge. How do you go to a hot chicken place and not have at least two sauces for an order? It's not like DHC is my favorite chicken place, but their prices are more reasonable, and they don't charge for sauce. I get it, a business has to profit but at some point we all as customers have to acknowledge we're paying way the hell too much for what we're getting. I love good food as much as the next person but it's insane that it costs me $50 to feed three people. I can easily go to a fast casual sit-down restaurant with table service and pay less. But what the heck, I decided to go in and was greeted instantly. Although this place was busy, they took the time to say hello and ask how my day was. Inside was a place that was clean, well kept, and organized. I felt that the staff really did their work to make the place comfortable for guests. Now let's talk about the food! We got the classic Nashville hot, some Nashville pickles, and some fries. The chicken was probably one of the juiciest fried chickens I've ever had and just enough heat to give it a kick. The cluck sauce and the ranch is a must!!! The sides were generous as those three items were more than enough for 2. The owner even asked how I liked it, which I appreciated a lot. The food here was incredible!! I had the loaded fries and my mom had the Memphis hot sandwich. We both loved that you could select the heat level for the chicken. I selected medium and my mom went with mild light. We were advised that the heat levels are one notch higher than what we would expect- in other words, mild is going to be more of a medium heat, etc. I'm fairly certain they put my moms chicken on my order and vice versa, because hers was significantly hotter than mine. I am a first time clucker. I've been eating spicy food my entire life. I do believe I have met my match with spices on this one though. To be fair, I was warned by the employees that it was going to be VERY spicy. But I paid no attention to them. I only got the second to hottest spicy level and could not finish the rest. It IS SUPER pricey, but you definitely get what you paid for. There was one more spicy level after the one I got. I cannot imagine why people would put themselves through such pain and misery. Pretty good! I would place in competition for #2 in the Inland Empire. Babas in Riverside is my #1, to me just has better flavor. Could also have been that my first piece of chicken tender was dry as dirt. Overall good food, wish the fries had a seasoning. The comeback sauce tasted just like 1000 island which with a sauces named accordingly make sure it's going to make people comeback. Hands down the best hot chicken place in the area. I know that's a bold statement, but I stand by it wholeheartedly. I love spicy food, like "burn my face off, regret it later" kind of spicy, so whenever I try somewhere the advertises something as spicy, I always go for the spiciest option first - and it was no different here. The first thing I noticed was how delicious, juicy, and perfectly prepared the chicken was. It's so hard to find a place that does great spice, and perfectly prepared chicken at the same time, but Cluck Kitchen nailed it, because the next thing I noticed was that the spice was burning my face off, I finished the meal thanks to the amazing macaroni and cheese, this entire meal was delicious. I decided I had to go back before I would write a review to make sure it was consistent. So today I went, and got the same thing but in "Hot" which is two steps down from the "Get Clucked" hottest option, and it was absolute perfection for me. Great flavor, a little spice, and once again - perfectly prepared chicken. Cluck Kitchen is going to be my go-to spot for hot chicken from now on, and the only thing that bums me out is that I can already tell this place is going to get so popular that lines will be inevitable - but as for now, you can get in and get out in under ten minutes, so I'd highly recommend getting out there and trying it. read more

My husband and I are huge fans of some good spicy Nashville hot chicken tenders and this place nailed it! The spice levels are super accurate and we love spicy so, we were super happy that the ghost pepper one (extra hot) was in fact extra hot . The chicken tenders are nice and crispy but still juicy, and they are pretty large in size. So the meal with two tenders is just the perfect amount. They're fries are delicious! Crispy waffle fries ! The sauce options are fantastic. Loved the comeback sauce. Little pricey to get extra though. We will be back to try more of the side options, the alcoholic beverages and more! Only thing is that the restaurant itself is a litttle small but they offer ample outdoor, first come first serve seating at the mountain grove shopping plaza. So not a big problem! Short version: Service was great, food was okay for the price. Longer version: When we walked in, there was no line to order. The place was completely empty but clean. The cashier answered my questions extremely well so pretty good service. The only thing was that the prices on the menu are not combo prices. I ordered 2 original sandwich combos and one sauce for my girlfriend and I the total came out to $39.49. The sauce was $.85 cents making the food (roughly) about $19 each for a sandwich waffle fries and a drink. The wait for the food was around 10 minutes. The food came out in a cool little custom box and they also give you wet wipes for your hands once you've completed your meal. The food was straight out of the fryer the fries and sandwich were nice and hot. I felt the heat from the chicken patty through my bread. Fresh food too bad it wasn't amazing. The fries were good and crispy but they tasted as if they were just store bought. Basically as if i bought a bag from walmart and popped them in the air fryer good but no special taste. My very first bite of the chicken sandwich instantly reminded me of a mcchicken. The sauce, lettuce and chicken all were in par with the chicken sandwich from mcdonald's. The chicken patty was extremely big it surpassed the bread. Like I said the food was okay nothing special. I probably would only return to try other menu items like the mac and cheese and loaded fries they sounded and looked good.
