A classic local spot! I was craving burgers one night and found this place nearby and gave it a try due to the popularity in reviews. When I arrived, I almost thought the place was closed because there were no lights on and no one inside. It turns out, it was just only drive thru and pick up orders available that night. I ordered 2 bacon cheeseburger combos, one with fries and the other with onion rings. The girl taking orders was so sweet and friendly! The whole process was super quick and the food came out almost immediately! Delicious burgers every time. We've been coming to nicks for years now and it's always consistent. Burgers are full of flavor, their sauce is also so delicious. Fries are always crispy and hot and their onion rings are also very tasty. You can't skip the ranch! Also the customer service is unmatched. Always greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. I've never had something I didn't enjoy from here. Don't forget it's drive thru and take out orders only. Oh my goodness, they give you so much food here. Went here on my lunch break and there were 3 cars ahead of me in the drive thru. I only have 30 minutes for lunch and this place was quick! I still had about 15 min to eat my food when I arrived back to the job. Anyway, so I ordered the Jr cheeseburger combo and upgraded to onion rings instead of fries. Jr cheeseburger: The size of this was perfect. It was still about the size of an In N Out burger, which was big enough for me. Those with larger appetites may want to order the regular size burgers. It came with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, 1000 island. The thing I appreciate most is that they don't use too much 1000 on your burger, just enough so that it isn't dry, but not so much that it's all you can taste. The charbroiled burger patty was thin (which I liked) and had that great smokey, charred grill flavor to it. It's a pretty solid burger. Score: 8/10 Onion Rings: Holy moly!!! The serving is humongous! I ordered a side of ranch to go with it, I think it was an extra $.69. Anyway, the onion rings are cut very thin, so by the time they are deep fried, there is barely any onion left. Those that love onions like I do may be disappointed in the amount of onion in the rings. Other than that, they were seasoned well and tasted great while still warm. The ranch was some of the best homemade ranch I ever had. I see now why they charge for it. It was thick, not runny and had a healthy amount of dill. The seasoning was spot on. This used to be one of my favorite spots when I lived in Redlands. I loved their burgers and they had my favorite chili cheese fries but as I'm leaving their parking lot after eating my food, I'm very disappointed with their food. My chili cheese fries which honestly had not a lot of chili, my combo burger, and my boyfriend's double bacon cheeseburger all lacked flavor. The chili and even the cheese on the fries tasted like nothing, and even the pastrami and the bacon, which is always flavorful, tasted like nothing. I legit had a moment of asking myself do i have covid cuz I'm not tasting any flavor (I dont actually have covid). Leaving disappointed and frustrated after spending $32 on 3 items that had no flavor. I'm giving 2 stars cuz customer service was nice and service was fast. Nick's Burgers has been around for a while in Redlands. I mainly only ever order the Zucchini Fries here, which is so good it's a reason alone to come here. I was hangry after work and this was close so I decided to try it. I had the avocado burger and it was delicious! They are very generous with the avocado, fresh lettuce and tomatoes that are firm enough to not make the burger soggy. The fried zucchini was amazing, nice and crisp. The ranch is thick and yummy. The young lady working at the window was very sweet and moved things along quickly. I will definitely be ordering from them again while I'm working in the neighborhood. Nick's has the best ranch I've ever had in my life. I could write a review just about the ranch. It would be enough if the food was just a vehicle for the ranch (you can buy it by the pint -- if you do, you may want to drink the whole thing). That said, the food stands on its own. My go-to is the chicken salad -- the chicken is flavorful and everything is fresh. My other favorites are the fried zucchini and mushrooms (they give you a ton) and tuna sandwich. If you've been on the west side of town via Redlands Blvd., then you've been past Nick's Burgers - today I tried them. They are drive through only, so plan on where you are going to eat. Also check their Facebook page for their closing hours (as this can vary from day to day) and they are closed on Sundays. I've seen the daunting drive through line in the past, but today it moved fairly well. Their burgers are the 4oz size similar to other fast food restaurants versus restaurants without drive throughs that tend to have 7oz or 8oz burgers. We started with a side of Fried Zucchini with ranch dressing. They are cut similar to standard french fries - which works well for dipping. They give you plenty with ample ranch dressing. They were served piping hot: the outside was crunchy yet the inside was mushy. By themselves, they didn't have any flavor and, good and/or bad, had very little salt. The ranch dressing added a bunch of flavor and was okay. The Patty Melt had the requisite items (as you can see in my pic I forgot to order the grilled onions). The rye bread was okay as was the burger. The cheese didn't add a lot of flavor. I think the grilled onions would have helped a bunch. The bacon in the Bacon Cheese Burger was the star. Their burgers come with 1,000 island dressing which was mild and thin. The lettuce was crisp, but check out that bacon - that would be a star at any restaurant. I love Nick's! When I ask for crisp fries I get crisp fries! Their zucchini is delicious too. My favorite thing is a grilled cheese sandwich--melty just the right amount of crispiness with the bread, and nice and hot. Yes, I can make it at home, but Nick's is extra good! We haven't been to Nicks in a very long time.....maybe even several years....we were thinking a Old fashioned burger for dinner "where should we go.... We love In And Out but we wanted something different.... So my husband remembered Nicks at the last minute.... I've driven by a couple of times but didn't notice that Nick's is still closed except for takeout.... Huh? ...I pull up and see a bIG Red sign "Doors locked" No wonder the drive through is sooo busy.... The only problem I have with this is....food was cold by the time I got home... we zapped it but it's not the same.... Haven't been here in awhile. Dine-in is still closed but the drive-thru is open. They definitely have the best fast-food hamburgers. What really sets them apart from other places is the shredded lettuce and the dill pickles they put on their burgers, very good. Their zucchini fries are the best in town too. This place is the best burger place in Redlands hands down. I am always ordering something from here at least twice a month for myself and my family. Since they have closed the dining section and kept the drive thru open because of covid and I am sure staffing purposes I feel it just has become better. The last couple of times I have pulled up to the drive thru, customer service has been outstanding and does not matter what you order I yelpuarantee you it will be a good meal. I personally just go with a guacamole or combo burger meal every time. The ingredients are always fresh, meats are well seasoned and the french fries are seasoned and on point. Good job Nick's! Nick's burgers has been around since I was a kid, however they were in SB without a drive through. I remember going as a kid and knowing "hey this food is really good!" The (AMAZING) quality (and the menu from what I remember) has not changed. If you're looking for a "fast food" place but don't want McDonalds type food, definitely come here. It's more diner style. The unfortunate part is that their dine in option isn't open anymore. But that wouldn't stop me from going. I wouldn't let it affect the stars I give the restaurant either!
