I came here before going to the movie theatre next door and was pleasantly suprised. They sell 3 pieces of chicken strips for about 13.00 it comes with a free sauce but you have to pay for extra. The Tenders were pretty big in size and were nice and juicy. Even though the Tenders didnt come with fries for the price I was satisfied considering the size of the chicken tenders. The service was prompt and the place was clean. Im giving minus 1 star because the chicken was a bit salty to me and I think there needs to be an option to buy Chicken tenders Individually .. instead of being forced to pay 13.00 for 3. Love, love, LOVE this place. Best fried chicken I've had in years (since living in the South). Note: they do fry their chicken in peanut oil if you have allergies. One of the employees recommended the loaded fries when I went in and said I wanted to "eat my feelings": I've ordered loaded fries every time I've been since then. I love that it has several things I wanted to try all together--fries, the chicken (I like medium heat), coleslaw, pickles, and comeback sauce. It's definitely too much food for one sitting for me--I always have leftovers. My vegetarian husband loves the fried pickles and cheese curds--and their sauces are all excellent, especially the made-from-scratch ranch. The mac and cheese is also delicious, but the portion is rather small for the price. I know it's extra, but I always get extra sauce. We don't often eat "out" because we don't have a lot of money, but this place is worth the quality of the food, in my opinion. I do recommend eating the food right away in the restaurant, while it's still super hot and fresh, but it's also good re-heated if necessary. I've always had great customer service, and the employees have even remembered me from before. I want to try their croissant beignets and street corn fritters next. The buns were toasted but cold at the same time. The fires were over cooked and the comeback sauce is basically canes sauce. They also have places to sit, but if you'd rather eat outside, Mountain Grove has many places to relax. It was not very enjoyable. I ate only a very small portion of the meal. The cross cut fries I enjoyed; then I went to MOD pizza for more reasonably priced food and familiarity. Unless someone in the kitchen clucked up my order and gave me the hottest level of hot, instead of the standard hot... the heat was dry and very extreme... It was more like ghost pepper heat, not habanero. Hotter than Thai hot from your favorite Thai restaurant. I cant imagine how ordering "clucked up" would be from what the kitchen ended up serving me. Therefore, ordering your chicken "Hot" may not be a good choice for a first time visitor. Sphincters beware! Perhaps ask for Scoville ratings of hotness while you visit. Had I ordered mild to zero heat for the chicken I ordered, I'd probably be raving greater things about this place. One thing is clear, I won't be trying this place again soon as I know I can get amazing chicken elsewhere at more reasonable prices. I'd say, this is my favorite of all the spicy chicken sandwiches in the IE. I got the Nashville style spicy chicken sandwich (very hot spice level) which came with slaw, pickles and their signature sauce. I'd say their "very hot" is equivalent to the "hot" from howlin rays or the spiciest one from babas. Makes me a little scared to try their spiciest one and I was given ample warning by the staff to see how well I handle the very hot first. The fried chicken itself was fried perfectly and was super juicy. The flavors of the spice also had much more depth to it (instead of just heat). Pairing that with the soft buns of the sandwich along with the cooling slaw and pickles really just was icing on the cake for me. 10/10. Btw. If you want honey, you do have to pay extra and they give it to u in a little cup. So make sure to tell them ahead of time while you order They're corn fritters we're alright. Cluck Kitchen joins a small group of existing hot chicken sandwich places in the area including Dave's Hot Chicken and Byrd's. Cluck is solid, the sandwich is a big piece of chicken breast topped with a generous amount of coleslaw on a brioche bun. The chicken breast wasn't especially juicy: it isn't entirely dry either but there were a few bites where I noticed the dryness. I couldn't help compare it to Dave's Hot Chicken which uses tenderloin and is noticeably juicier. The coleslaw is made with a vinegar base and it works very well in this sandwich. They put a 'Comeback' sauce on it which tbh I couldn't really taste? We got the medium spicy level which I think was a great balance to taste the spice while not overpowering the rest of the seasoning. Finally we also got a side of Mac and cheese which exceeded my expectations! It had good texture (not mushy) while having a good amount of seasoning and cheesy goodness. Overall I think I prefer Dave's over Cluck for the chicken juiciness and price: for a similar price you can get a drink and fries at Dave's which I think makes it more worth it. However Cluck is still really solid and worth a try if you're a hot chicken fan! read more

I feel like this is a recurring theme with my view on so many restaurants right now. It's seriously too damn expensive to eat out. A meal for three shouldn't run $50, but here we are. It's a damn shame too, because the food here is tremendously good. Expertly seasoned and cooked fried chicken wings, sandwiches, and nuggets. Creamy, gooey mac and cheese, and crisp waffle fries. The food is absolutely on point, and given the glut of hot chicken places available now, their food does well to stand out from the pack. But good grief, these prices. $19 for a chicken sandwich, fries, and a drink. $16 for two whole wings and mac & cheese. $10 for nuggets, fries, and a drink. And here's the worst part -- only one cup of sauce per order. If the prices weren't high enough, you're forking over another 75 cents for each sauce cup. The food prices are vicious enough without having to pay additional for sauce, but that honestly just puts me over the edge. How do you go to a hot chicken place and not have at least two sauces for an order? It's not like DHC is my favorite chicken place, but their prices are more reasonable, and they don't charge for sauce. I get it, a business has to profit but at some point we all as customers have to acknowledge we're paying way the hell too much for what we're getting. I love good food as much as the next person but it's insane that it costs me $50 to feed three people. I can easily go to a fast casual sit-down restaurant with table service and pay less. But what the heck, I decided to go in and was greeted instantly. Although this place was busy, they took the time to say hello and ask how my day was. We got the classic Nashville hot, some Nashville pickles, and some fries. The chicken was probably one of the juiciest fried chickens I've ever had and just enough heat to give it a kick.
