We came to try the wings yesterday. We were told that they would take 10 to 15 minutes to make. We also ordered large waffle fries, in which these came out first and sat on a tray for over 8 minutes while they waited for the wings to come out. As we finally got our complete order we obviously checked the temp of our Fries which were not hot anymore more. We excited for the wing and we're disappointed. We ordered the Honey BBQ & Asian Soy. The BBQ flavor was just not there the sauce was soaked up by the bread. The wings were just undercooked. Not sure if they are baked or fried but could use an extra 2 to 3 minutes to get that crunch. I love the national hot chicken sandwich at this place! When they say spicy, they mean spicy! And I love it! The breading on the chicken is the perfect amount and it's very crispy. Sometimes I just like to pick up a couple extra tenders and chop them up and put them on a salad. Parking can be a little bit tricky as it's in a busy shopping complex. Love, love, LOVE this place. Best fried chicken I've had in years (since living in the South). Note: they do fry their chicken in peanut oil if you have allergies. One of the employees recommended the loaded fries when I went in and said I wanted to "eat my feelings": I've ordered loaded fries every time I've been since then. I love that it has several things I wanted to try all together--fries, the chicken (I like medium heat), coleslaw, pickles, and comeback sauce. It's definitely too much food for one sitting for me--I always have leftovers. My vegetarian husband loves the fried pickles and cheese curds--and their sauces are all excellent, especially the made-from-scratch ranch. The mac and cheese is also delicious, but the portion is rather small for the price. I know it's extra, but I always get extra sauce. We don't often eat "out" because we don't have a lot of money, but this place is worth the quality of the food, in my opinion. I do recommend eating the food right away in the restaurant, while it's still super hot and fresh, but it's also good re-heated if necessary. I've always had great customer service, and the employees have even remembered me from before. I want to try their croissant beignets and street corn fritters next. If you like spicy food, don't come here; BUT, if you like extremely spicy food, then check this place out! For everyone else, stick to the mild or zero heat level of chicken. At Cluck Kitchen, Hot equals Extremely Hot. Anything more than hot may just give you stomach ulcers. I rated this place a 2 based on my first visit here. I love that this restaurant offers a fresh approach to serving up some chicken - including a Nashville Chicken Sandwich - and therefore gave this place a visit. The pros: (1) Fresh chicken meals made to order. (2) Fresh ingredients. (3) Restaurant located in a really nice area with plenty of seating, and (4) alcoholic drinks available. The cons: (1) The price with a Nashville Chicken Sandwich cost a whomping $15 dollars for the sandwich only!... $23 for the sandwich and fries (excluding the drink)... with the drink,.. hmmm ain't even goin there. Too expensive for my likes. (2) The time for the food to be made is at least 15 minutes. (3) The menu is difficult to understand if you are not expecting a-la-cart pricing. My experience... I got the chicken wing meal with the cross-cut fries. This of course came with a drink and a choice of sauce on the side. The meal comes with a slice of bread included. Got my wings hot knowing it had habanero rub. I love spicy food and enjoy habaneros fresh... yet, the chicken came crazy hot! The chicken was mummified in a dry and crispy layer of hot rub. It was not very enjoyable. I ate only a very small portion of the meal. The cross cut fries I enjoyed; then I went to MOD pizza for more reasonably priced food and familiarity. Unless someone in the kitchen clucked up my order and gave me the hottest level of hot, instead of the standard hot... the heat was dry and very extreme... It was more like ghost pepper heat, not habanero. Hotter than Thai hot from your favorite Thai restaurant. I cant imagine how ordering "clucked up" would be from what the kitchen ended up serving me. Therefore, ordering your chicken "Hot" may not be a good choice for a first time visitor. Sphincters beware! Perhaps ask for Scoville ratings of hotness while you visit. Had I ordered mild to zero heat for the chicken I ordered, I'd probably be raving greater things about this place. One thing is clear, I won't be trying this place again soon as I know I can get amazing chicken elsewhere at more reasonable prices.
