This place is ridiculous. I signed up for a free Reformer Pilates class and took the time to travel to this spot on a Saturday afternoon. When I arrived, I was greeted by the manager, who was friendly. After checking me in, I was asked if I have grip socks and I didn't. She stated that it's their policy that everyone wear grip socks, due to safety reasons. However, I noticed that the instructor didn't even have grip socks on, so that was weird to me. Even if the instructor isn't on the equipment much, she should lead by example and follow the policy / rules of Club Pilates. After all, shouldn't any policy apply to everyone? Since the grip socks cost from $14-18, I wasn't interested in purchasing them... Especially for a class that was only 30 minutes. Not even a full hour, which is usually the standard length of time. Also, NOWHERE in the reminder text or calendar invite does it mention grip socks are REQUIRED to participate. It should have been made more clear so that I didn't have to waste my time coming here or I could have prepared in advance and gotten grip socks elsewhere. I really felt like my time was not valued. The manager did mention that I can reschedule the free intro class, but I'm definitely not planning on returning. read more

Club Pilates cobble hill is amazing. Where do I begin.., Amazing instructors with a wide range of moves that are enjoyable and challenging. Beautiful industrial chic studio with skylights. Wide array of equipment to keep it interesting. Great app that is easy to use to book classes and make changes. Cheerful and professional staff. I had never taken pilates before and decided to book a free intro class online through the Club Pilates website's online form. They contacted me multiple times by text message and phone call early in the morning (8am), which I do find a bit annoying and I am not sure how to unsubscribe from their list. I am still getting phone calls from them after taking the trial class three weeks ago. I visited on a weekday morning and was greeted by Fisher. Our instructor, Delaney was really helpful and ran the class at a slow pace for beginners. The class was pretty empty, but I'm sure they get more customers in the evening classes. We went through a lot for one class. The manager, I believe her name was Kathleen, was very helpful in assisting which classes were suitable for beginners. They offer a large variety of classes, and I was shocked to learn that even those with injuries can do pilates as long as there are adjustments made to the workout. I had my own grip socks, which means I saved probably $12 or more or so on purchasing a pair of socks from them. I wish we could wear shoes or go barefoot because it felt a bit weird wearing socks which can make it slippery for me when I start to sweat. I recommend this location, although I do live too far to join classes here in the long term, I am glad I took a trial class with Club Pilates. read more

I have been attending classes for the past 4 months. This is the first time I've done Reformer classes. I am not new to fitness but returning to the gym after quarantine wasn't appealing. I was first taken aback by the three month commitment. It seems really expensive in the beginning. Along with a careful diet, my body has completely changed. Every class is different which wards off boredom. You can adjust the intensity by how your feeling that day - back off or challenge yourself more. All of the instructors are great and knowledgeable. If you are 21 or 81 - these classes will make you stronger. If you are someone who needs more individual attention, I would recommend getting to know at least one instructor and being regular with that class/time at least once a week. read more

I had no idea what to expect from Pilates in general, and was totally intimidated walking in the first time. I find this studio to be an EXCELLENT introduction into Pilates, and the front desk staff are so kind and helpful. Even when I made a stupid scheduling goof, they went out of their way to help me rectify it. I'd highly recommend Club Pilates to anyone looking to start this type of workout. I have been a member here since June 20, and I must say I've fallen in love. Maybe I lead a boring life, but I look forward to walking in that door and starting my classes. The facilities are clean, there are friendly and helpful staff and instructors and good vibes with my fellow classmates. I live in Harlem and did research places closer and even in other areas of Manhattan, but I decided to stay where I am because it works for me. I had been looking for a long time to get back into a routine of doing something good for my body and this is exactly what I needed. You go at your own pace and instructors give thorough advice and corrections when needed. You truly feel longer and stronger afterwards. This club has a lot of GREAT qualities, and one annoying one. First, the good stuff. I love working out here. I was intimidated by reformer machines and thought I hated Pilates before I decided to take a free intro class here. I actually found that I LOVED it. After having two kids, my core was in sad shape. I've been doing PT on and off for two years for diastasis recti, and found that the Pilates workout incorporates a lot of the same moves, and has made my core so much stronger. When I first started taking classes here, I could hold a plank for maybe 3 seconds without dropping to my knees. Now I can do full sets of planks with lots of variations!!! I really like majority of the instructors (shout out to Manni especially, whose classes are good-hard), Javi (he's hilarious), and Megan (her stretch class is a combination of Pilates and Yoga, and it's better than a massage. I try to go every week). The studio is clean, the equipment is in great shape, and the classes are small (max 12 people per class), so you get personal attention if needed. I've been dealing with a torn rotator cuff for awhile now, and they've been great helping to complement the PT I'm doing. If you think you hate Pilates, or you're afraid of the reformer (as I was), I highly, highly recommend trying a class here. The front desk workers are also insanely nice, and the people who take classes here are also kind: A good mix of ages and genders and fitness levels. Now the annoying part: They will STALK you until you join. I've sent two friends to take the free class, and both of them were freaked out by how many times they were called by the club to try to get them to join. We've nicknamed it "Cult Pilates." We're talking calls every single day. I respect the women owners because I try to #shopsmall and #supportwomen etc etc etc .... but they gotta chill on the membership stalking. (And now that I finally joined, they called me and said leave a Yelp review, so here I am.) TL;DR: I'm obsessed with this club and LOVE the classes and majority of the teachers and now work out 4x a week and have a much stronger core... but their membership pitches can be over the top. read more

Have nothing but good to say about ClubPilates here - went from being a little apprehensive of stepping outside my comfort zone (no Pilates or yoga history of any type) to immediately feeling the benefits from the absolute get go - personally have used it to add to flexibility for other sports where it has definitely been a real help, but even on a standalone basis would have embraced it just as much. Add to this the super staff from front desk to instructors and, importantly, the relative ease of booking classes (got the unlimited level and was organized about looking ahead in a 3 week rolling window = rarely had an issue in getting the times/classes wanted). People tend to write reviews only when they're either a) very happy or b) have some axe to grind, definitely in the first group here as really glad chose to join here, highly recommend any wavering types looking for the right spot to do the same. read more

I had always been curious but this ended up being my first ever experience doing Pilates. I attended a free intro class and was immediately hooked. The instructors are very friendly and know what they are doing. It's also never boring or repetitive, and there are classes for all moods, needs, and levels of fitness. The front desk staff and the manager are also extremely welcoming and helpful. More than once I had to cancel or switch classes last minute and they replied to my text within minutes. This studio is wonderful! I had always wanted to try Pilates but felt nervous trying a new workout with no experience. I signed up for one of the trial classes a few months ago--I am so glad that I did! Everyone at the studio--manager, front desk, teachers--are so welcoming and friendly. The classes are terrific, I'm amazed that almost every class I learn a new exercise or technique. There is such a good variety of class times and types. I ended up signing up for the unlimited monthly membership and I have gone from no regular exercise to attending classes 4-5 times per week. They manage their waitlist so well, I am almost always able to get in to the class times I want, and the studio reaches out if spots become available in a class time I was interested in. The classes are both challenging and accessible, with teachers providing plenty of modificaitons if necessary. I joined Club Pilates when we moved from Portland, Maine to Cobble Hill in January. I was about 7 months postpartum after having my second child via c-section. I had practiced PIlates regularly 3x a week for about 5 years but had not gotten back into it after having the baby and moving. I was so excited to discover Club Pilates was so close to my home and signed up for an introduction lesson. Allison, the manager and Isaac, the owner were so warm and friendly. They went out of their way to welcome me to the studio and explain the various membership options. Everyone that works there is extraordinarily welcoming. The space is beautiful, spacious and is also very clean. I appreciate that they ask members to wear grippy socks and the reformers and props are wiped down between classes. They offer a wide variety of lessons and each instructor has their own personal style. I really enjoy taking lessons with all the instructors each for different reasons. Javi is very warm, funny and infuses humor into all his classes. Manni's workouts really push you in the best way possible, you work safely but within your limit. I have taken Pilates at various studios and I was so impressed by Manni's ability to teach a full class while giving a pregnant woman in her third trimester modifications without missing a beat with the rest of the class. Cynthia is always so upbeat and positive. Her classes have such wonderful flow and she really wants you to make the class what you need it to be. I miss Sierra and her classes! The clients that come into the studio are amazing too and I always have a nice exchange with someone. I really love Club Pilates and recommend the studio highly. read more
