Blanca Porras Green ; (1) I DID NOT call your mechanic an idiot . I said that the smog law was idiotic . YOU need to learn to proofread better . (2) When I brought my truck in to the shop , your employee Mike DID NOT ask me if I had after market parts and the accompanying required CARB decals . I DID NOT say " yes " because he never asked me that question . (3) For you to assert that he asked me those questions is a flat out lie . If your mechanic had in fact asked me those questions then the situation would not have occurred as it did because at that time I was completely unaware of the change in compliance requirements of the smog law pursuant to CARB approved diesel after market parts . (4) Had he asked me about the CARB EO decals , I would have of course engaged in a discussion to determine what he was talking about and then upon him cluing me to the change in the smog certification requirements , I would have informed him that since I was unaware of the change in requirements that I did not have the required decals . (5) Your mechanic called me back in to the shop after about 15 - 20 minutes . I'm pretty sure about that time because as soon as I gave him the key to the truck I stepped outside to make a call on my cell . That call lasted about 14 minutes , and shortly after I ended the call he called me in to the shop . When he called me in it was to advise me that he could not test my truck because of the parts . At no time did he ever advise me that my truck " failed the turbo and other emissions components for tamper " . That is an outright lie . (6) My truck has passed emissions testing every year that I have been required to get it tested with my after market parts installed . The only parts that have been installed on my truck that are modified are LEGAL CARB approved parts . (7) For YOU to alledge that my truck has had the engine emissions equipment tampered with is a flat out lie and now begs the question and or concern that you may attempt to falsify emissions test results to justify and bolster your hostile response to me . (8) YOU continually alledge or infer in your response to me that I " illegally tampered with " my truck engine . Replacing stock engine parts with LEGAL CARB approved parts does not constitute " tampering " . (9) The remedy to meet the changed compliance requirements is simple . For whatever reason your mechanic simply advised me that he couldn't test my truck without the CARB numbers on the parts . That was pretty much the end conversation . It gave me the impression that that was all he had to say , and he never gestured or seemed to have anything else to tell me , like how to resolve this problem . Yes , I did cuss , no not at him . Yes I did get pissed off so I apologize for using cuss words in your shop because I got angry about the stupid smog laws in Kalifornia . (8) I posted a review of my experience in your shop as I perceived it . I have every right to express my opinion and my experience as I believe I experienced it . Who are YOU to demand that I retract my factual , personal experience because you do not agree with it . Respecting civil freedoms is a Constitutional cornerstone of how OUR American Republic WORKS , and for you to threaten me if I don't submit to your demands because you disagree with my expression is a pretty serious infringement of my personal liberty . (9) Posting a negative review of your business based on my personal experience DOES NOT constitute " slander " . (10) Because you disagree with my recollection of my experience with your business DOES NOT give you the right to demand that I retract or remove my review . (11) Again , your mechanic called me back in to the shop after only about 15 minutes or so. I remember him telling me is that he couldn't test my truck because the parts were not compliant with the current emissions law. Since he didn't seem to have any more information to offer , I expressed my anger at the stupid emissions laws and left . He never indicated or said anything that would have caused me to understand that he did anything more to my truck than a visual inspection . While I doubt the veracity of your claim since you have previously alleged 2 distinct lies in your response to me , I will gladly pay for any work that he did as part of the inspection . (12) I am prepared to file a formal complaint against you with the BBB , the California Attorneys General of Consumer Affairs , and with YELP Administrators for (1) harassing and threatening me and attempting to coerce me into complying with your demands . (2) Threatening me with a civil complaint if I don't comply , which I'm betting goes against YELP community standards . Great local business! Fast service, clean waiting room and an overwhelmingly large choice of coffee. I was pleasantly surprised. Will never go anywhere else again. I have been to a few different smog places in the Fresno/Clovis area and I have to say that this place is the BEST! The owner was very polite and professional. He has 2 friendly dogs that stay behind the counter with him and they all 3 greeted me when I walked in.
