All American Smog is a true gem. After waiting for a hour at the DMV kiosk to renew my registration, the machine broke. I went home to register and realized my smog was due. I searched for smog places open on a Monday since I was working the rest of the week. I searched Yelp and found this place (was trying to avoid the bug franchise business and support local too). I went over to All American Smog close to closing to see if Allan could squeeze in one more. To my luck he could! The wait was short and he was so kind. Totally satisfied with the service here and it's a one man show. No reservations but first come first serve. If there is a few cars ahead of you it's no problem cause within less than a Clovis block there are restaurants to get a meal and beverage or nearby shops to shop and browse. I got there at 7:40 am to be the first in line. Promptly at 8:00 Allan the owner arrived and began business and was working on my car. Starting at 8:00 the people started coming in. Allan explained how long it would take to do each car and he'd approximate their wait. They had already known about Allan's reputation and it was quite nice to see the happy faces. Some walked to breakfast nearby and just wanted to get their car smogged at All American Smog by Allan. My Wife and I had stopped in the previous day since we were out shopping to check out the place to see if we wanted to trade there. We both agreed as we were leaving that this is the place to smog our car. Allan is Good People and Honest and explained everything we needed to know. I've been taking our cars here for years for our smog tests. Alan has always been totally honest with us. Just got my 10 year old Toyota smog completed. It took under 30 minutes and was a super easy process. Alan files the paperwork with DMV electronically so it makes it simple to renew the registration on line once the test is complete. Their business card on the counter has a 10% discount on it ask for the deal when you start the paperwork. Police, Fire and military ask for your discount too. read more

Stellar service!!!! Allan does an awesome job at All American Smog. He'll get you in and out faster than any other shop i've been to. He puts you in line when you show up at the shop and will let you know how long you will have to wait and when you can expect to pick up your car and be on your way. You have the option of waiting in the air conditioned waiting room and have a complimentary soda, or if the line is too long, you can leave and come back later when it's closer to your turn, he'll hold your place in line. Called on Christmas Eve hoping the shop was open. After the third ring a friendly voice confirmed that they were, in fact open until 12 pm. Went in as soon as I was able to without disrupting my own workday. Filled out the paperwork, had my smog certificate shortly afterwards. This is a great small town shop. Went in for a Smog check and was done within an hour. Allen was kind, helpful and quick with his work. The sitting area is a bit dated and warm, but it's nice that they offer a water or soda while you wait. I came in 15 minutes before the shop closed and asked if they had time to squeeze in one last smog before closing. Right away the owner was rude and said that he recognizes my vehicle and that I've been there before and gave him trouble. I told him I'm sorry sir your mistaken as I've just bought the truck as you can see from my registration. He said no I recognize the veteran decal on my rear window and I repeated that I literally put that decal on less than a week ago and again told him I've never been to his shop. After my truck passed the test he still continued to be rude and hassled me about my after market air intake which is californa legal. Finally I asked if he does military veteran discounts as I saw his waiting room was patriotic. He said no in this situation. He charged me 70$ for my smog cert!!! And had the audacity to write on my receipt and I quote "write-up FORCED overtime w/ aftermarket equipment. I did not force him to do anything he accepted my vehicle with nobody waiting 15 minutes before they closed. He could of told me sorry I'm closing for the day. Instead he was extremely rude. I even showed him the previous smog reciept to show I wasn't the person he thought I was. Overall I'm very disappointed and will NEVER take my vehicle or refer anyone to his shop! read more
