However, A1 Star Smig came to the top with ChatGPT based on my lines, dislikes, and expectations of services to be rendered. It was 30 minutes away. Well outside of my distance scope. However, who am I to argue with ChatGPT. I arrived at the location and was immediately taken into the service section. There was another vehicle ahead of me. The technician handed me the paperwork and started the mechanical process. He stated that truck is going to take over an hour. Your vehicle will take considerably shorter to complete. How refreshing is it to do business with an entity that can balance time management while keeping their customers at a low stress level. I had my dog with me and fully expected to take her for a walk while we waited. Dog and I - very surprised by the time I finished the paperwork the mechanical process was done, uploaded to the State of California, and I had all documentation and receipt in hand - on my way to tge next stage. When I showed up, it was just the one man and he told us he was super slow all day and was about to close up early, then suddenly the rush! Lol we appreciated him keeping it open and helping us get what we needed done. Price wasn't too bad, and seems about average everywhere else. Unfortunately, one area didn't pass the checklist but he said it might have been because I recently got my car batteries changed. I went to A1 because of a Yelp review I had read regarding A1. Harby met me and got the car lined up and ready to go after having me sign the forms. He evaluated my vehicle and checked everything that he needed to check. We eventually started talking and he shared with me that he had customers who had modified their vehicles would come to him at the last minute hoping he would pass them, even though it was illegal and then curse or write bad reviews, if he didn't pass them. They would then leave their cursing and go to another center who had no integrity and pass them and they would come back and curse at him. Came in for a smog. I wanted to give them a shot because there close, I usually take my vehicles elsewhere. He said my vehicle didn't pass because of monitor readiness, he said keep driving it and come back for a "free retest" (30 days to come back) fixed all monitors needed to pass and wanted to use my "free retest" the same day because I came in right when they opened and had all day too handle it. He then denied to even plug in the obd2 and look at my monitors and just kept making useless excuses on why he thinks my monitors are not ready. I don't have all day to argue like children not professional at all. Why not just hook up the obd2 and actually look. So I went to my normal smog place and passed within 10 minutes.
