This man is SCAMMER he was trying to manipulate my mother in law into buying her car (her Cadillac converter had been stolen and replaced with a new certified one but he was trying to insist It wasn't compliant and it was going to fail smog.) When she wouldn't sell it to him he failed her. She took her car to the Toyota dealership had everything certified, and they sent her back to this shop. He then wanted to argue so she left to try another shop but no other shop would smog it because this guy had already failed it. He again tried to manipulate and low ball her to buy her car and when she said no he told her he wouldn't do the smog. DON'T BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE THIS MAN WILL TRY AND SCAM YOU! read more

I really feel that this man is a swindler. I went in for a smog and a lamp check he was going to charge me $210. I got the lamp test done for $95. I had sensors out in a couple of my tires he was going to charge me $800. I went to American Tire they did it for $130. Please do not go to this shop. Called this place in advance to see what the price would be for a 2006 Honda Civic and was quoted $35 ($26.75 inspection + $8.25 certificate). This place is not easy to miss visually as they have "Smog" signs all over, but make sure you drive into the side driveway going slightly downhill next to their garage instead of passing the place and parking in the parking lot that belongs to another shop. The other shop is Contreraz Smog and Repair and will cost you $45 for the same service. The inspection was quick. Often when I would visit auto shops of any kind, I felt a bit disregarded when I asked mechanical questions. Here the owners welcomed my inquiries about what they were looking for and were really friendly. Probably the best customer service I got in a while. I am coming back in two years. read more

I found this place online for a quick and easy smog check. On their website it also states if you have a vehicle that is newer than the year 2000, you will receive your smog for $31.72, which is a great price! When I got there, everything went smooth. It took him less than 40 minutes to get through my car, and a car that had entered just before me. However, at checkout the mechanic told me it would be $48. I responded by saying "Oh, on your website it says $31.72", to which he said "You checked the website?" and then grabbed my receipt and scratched out the $48 and wrote $40, then grabbed my card that I had sent down to look at the receipt and swiped my card. It all happened so quickly I felt like a jerk to say something again and say that it still wasn't the listed price. It just all felt slightly sketchy that when I stated the price didn't match the website, he didn't even argue with me, he just slightly adjusted the price but then quickly swiped my card. I know this may occur to lots of people that may enter this establishment, but as a woman it made me feel uneasy since we often can be taken advantage of in car shops since we are assumed to have less knowledge on the subject. Overall I would say it was such quick service and still a good price! But definitely left me with a weird feeling about the lack of his defense over the price, making me feel a little sketched out about the checkout process. Only 2/5 because gave THE FINAL price for smog changed slightly. Smogged my car then he charged me extra small fee to send DMV. On phone he had told me final price. No big deal, but CLEARLY said "price is out the door after all taxes and fees" mine was suppose to $35 out door. He added (8.25 certificate fee) when at the register checking out. That is very unprofessional. Came out to $43.25. Nickel and dimed me because I was dressed nice. Got me for the extra. I saw other reviews $35 out door. read more

The 'store' doesn't look exactly like a store, it has items for purchase but a lot of racks and looks like it is still being put together, so-to-speak. Don't let that or the outside deter you. It was $40 out the door for my smog check. There were two people in front of me but I was still in and out in less than 30 minutes. The clerk/owner/mgr (??) was friendly, offering coffee and/or water. There is a small chair and couch that are very comfortable inside for waiting. This was a re-check as the first time it didn't pass at another location - which took almost as much time with no-one waiting and was $69. This was so much better! read more

This is my first time here with my friend to do smog check for her car. The staffs are very nice and friendly. The price is reasonable compared to other places. There is no AC in the shop but there are fan so it's not too bad for now (currently 94 degree outside) but I don't think it will be bearable when the heat wave comes. The waiting area has 8 chairs and there is also a TV to entertain yourself while waiting. read more

Went in for a smog, midteranean guy told me that my car failed due to my intake. I told him I have the original to put back on. He told me there was no retest fee. Went back the next day, after my car passed. Went to register he charged me $40 dollars for some stupid bull shit he made up. I refused to pay he was gonna make a big deal plus I didn't want to deal with his hungry ass so I did. Plus he tried to rip me off for the stupid tag of $30. Don't fall for it because you might already paid dmv. I asked him since my car passed dmv will send it right? he said he doesn't know. How bullshit. These guys don't know what they're talking about. They failed my '96 Toyota Carolla for the ignition timing, when the ignition timing on a 96 Carolla is NONADJUSTABLE! I took it to a mechanic who said the smog guys don't know what they're talking about, and shouldn't have even checked the ignition timing on this car. So I went back to them, and they STILL stuck to their story about ignition timing! These guys shouldn't be looking at cars. Save your money. read more

I took my car here to get a smog test after I bought it in January. First time they tested it, it passed all but fuel evap. I took my car to get a hose replaced then came back and suddenly, I'm failing NOx. I didn't understand why until I looked closer at the paperwork and saw that this time, they tested my car as an automatic and my car is a manual which is why it failed because automatics have stricter emissions standards. My car would have passed had they tested it right so I went back and demanded a new test and I got one for free. This time, my car failed again. The NOx was well over 1100!! Just yesterday, I took my car out of town to a technician my brother recommended because he knows the guy does honest work and my car passed easy!! The NOx was a little over 400. Huge difference. The technician said the guys probably have their machine calibrated higher to cheat people and as shady as that place is, I wouldn't doubt it especially since I drive a BMW. Never going back. I'll pay the extra gas to take my car to somewhere honest. read more

This place was great! They only have one bay, and it's only a two man show, but they are super nice, straightforward, and pretty quick. I used the internet coupon today, but a lady came in right after me and they gave her the same low price of $40 including the CA smog certificate fee, so you don't really need it. They also run a little cigarette/dollar store attached to the one bay smog shop that was kind of fun to walk around in. All in all, great, I would go here again and again.
