This place was so fast and professional. It's right around the corner from the Home Depot and Costco on Blackstone. The gentleman was so polite and welcoming and explained the entire process to get a smog check for my vehicle. The waiting area is inside the garage, but it's extremely clean and presentable. I was in and out about 15 minutes at most. I would highly recommend this place if you need a smog check! I'm definitely coming back and the price was great. read more

No appointment, just brought my SUV in at 10am on a Wednesday for a smog check. There were two parties ahead of me waiting for their vehicles but the guy helped me right away, taking my information and keys. I didn't have my DMV paperwork but he was able to process my smog check without it (I wasn't required to use a STAR certified location), and he automatically applied the $20 coupon without even asking me. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Great service, easy process! read more

DMV now requires you use a STAR certified location. I used to use these guys all the time and I liked the convenience and service. They are not a STAR location and I can't use them anymore. read more

This is an auto shop. They do have a waiting room for the times it not nice outside. Otherwise, there is a makeshift waiting area with chairs placed under a huge shade tree. I've come here for a few smog checks. Every time I am back on the road in about 30 minutes. I don't have anything bad to say about these guys. They do the test, print up the results, and send you on your way. read more

I wouldn't take your car here. After spending nearly 300 dollars at a reputable shop he failed my vehicle just to take my money. Apparently he has no clue what a legal overlay of a wire is. He just wanted my money. Very very sad when people don't have business so they take money from the only customers they have. read more

Nearly all smog only places are the same, what separates them in my opinion is wait times. We just want to get and out as we all have stuff to do, right? I've gone here in the past due to close proximity from home but I have to others as well, it just depends where I am at the moment and if I remember that smog is due for the vehicle I am in. For this visit, probably 10 mins max wait for my Toyota Sequoia since I was the lone customer so I consider myself lucky. Final pricing after said discount: $48. I honestly don't think there was a discount (well probably $2) as others in the area were like $48-$55, but just call around before you get your smog check. read more

I needed to get my smog check stat, and just by the reviews it looked like a place I can go to. To my surprise, there was no line and they were super fast! Very friendly as well. FYI, if you have small children just make sure to take something for them, their waiting area has a few chairs and no Wi-Fi. However, it does go by quick so my kids were ok without it read more

Needed a standard smog for DMV. This is NOT a "STAR" location so if it says STAR on the front of your registration they have another location off Clinton. Answered phone quickly, provided a price over the phone, and told to come in immediately. Ran one errand and came back to a PASS with paperwork submitted electronically. Super reliable, easy, and hassle free. If you want to be babied maybe go somewhere else but if you need a good and fast job I'd go here read more

Well I'm in a pickle and not sure who is at fault. Bottom line: don't bring your car here if it has had any service done even remotely recently. They will still charge you for a check and blame your dealer if anything goes wrong. Maybe you knew this already? I didn't. Hope this saves you time and $ read more

I came here on Saturday morning with no appointment and was able to get my out-of-state car smog checked in about 20 minutes without any problems. Check-in was quick with them just needing name and address. They have a small waiting room with a heater which was nice since it was very cold outside. Appointment required: No Cost: $48 Customer service: Efficient Location: Off of Blackstone behind Valero gas station. I definitely recommend Smog Masters and I will be going back next time I need a smog check. read more

Had the best experience here the other day. I went in during my lunch to get a smog check required by the DMV. I was greeted immediately by a technician and he said I came at the right time as there was no wait. I got there at 3:25pm and he was done with my smog at 3:35pm. I've been coming to this place for years and never had a bad experience. I was worried about having to wait long, but they took care of me and I was in and out quickly. I get there and he (don't know the name of the man that was working) saw I was driving a mustang, he proceeded to ask if it was factory stock and I said no but the modifications I have on the car are California/ street legal and he said "no stock no service" and told me to get out in a loud tone. I asked him why can't he still check and test, and his response was "because I don't want to take the time to inspect to make sure it's legal." Best believe I am never coming back here because a small thing like checking to make sure the 02 sensor is there takes to much time out of someone's day. read more

So apparently they don't smog Older Cars. So they are not a Smog "Master" in my eye. And the reviews about cold shoulder service seem deserving. Would not kill them to say "sorry but you can go to xyz place" versus...bye bye. Shell at Bartow / Blackstone very nice and very efficient. read more

This review is for their smog check service only. Came here on a Saturday at 2pm with no appointment. Let them know I wanted a smog check done and that I had their coupon. They told me the price and told me it would be about an hour wait because they had multiple cars in front of me. I knew that already because I had called in before coming so I brought my husband so he and I could drive around instead of waiting in their waiting room. Came back fifty minutes later and car was done. No issues, no extra charges...boom I was out in a couple of minutes. Super easy. The guy who assisted me was really nice and professional. The place is not big but well maintained. They are located behind a gas station off of Blackstone so they are easy to find. They are star certified too. Good place to go if you need a smog check. read more

I went to ASR right after I had a horrific experience at another tire and alignment shop. The…read moreprevious place did a complete and utter hack job. They actually made my alignment worse, gave me check engine lights, and couldn't even balance the wheels properly. When I got to ASR, Vuthy pointed out that the previous shop had put an excessive amount of wheel weights on one side of the wheel. He explained that the correct way to fix it would have been to break the bead and rotate the tire on the wheel so it would balance properly instead of just stacking weights in one spot. It was crazy how many weights were on there. That alone gave me confidence I had finally found people who actually knew what they were doing. I ended up paying them to do the work because it just was not worth the stress and hassle to deal with the previous shop. When it came to the alignment, Vuthy pointed out my lower ball joint was worn -- meaning the previous shop should never have aligned it in the first place, since it wouldn't fully hold anyway. Instead, he aligned it for free as a stopgap so my new tires wouldn't wear unevenly in the meantime. Once I had time, I brought it back and had the full lower control arm replaced given the mileage on the truck. Could not be happier with the result. It's absolutely insane how far above and beyond this shop has gone to get my truck running perfectly. This is exactly how an automotive shop should be--customer service oriented. They know what they're doing, they have the experience to do the work right, and they don't cut corners. I imagine that's why they have so many repeat customers and referrals. When you do great work and treat people right, it pays off in the long run. They have completely set a new bar for me when it comes to getting work done on my vehicle, and I'm so grateful Vuthy and his crew exist.

The team was super accommodating and had no problem holding onto it for me. When I picked it up, they pointed out a few minor issues with my car and recommended I follow up on them. I took their advice and got those sorted out later that same week. The car looks and feels absolutely great now. I highly recommend them, and I'll definitely be back for any future suspension work!

Went to have my jeep smog done and seem he could not be bothered. He had trouble getting it into the shop because it stalled. Didn't try very hard, maybe a minute tops. Then he came back and said I needed to get it fixed and he didn't feel like messing with it. It runs great for me. Was not very nice about it. I see others were offered a coupon but didn't even say anything about that to me. I will be taking my cars elsewhere. I will be letting others know of the crummy service and attitude. read more

Do not even bother wasting your time here! I am from country with very poor car shop, but even of those is much better than this service! It is like doing service with animal! You give animal money and he only do what he want anyway. Go to Electric Labs, they are at least decent. read more
