The meat looks fresh and thick cuts predominate. Focus is in pork, beef and a good variety of sausage ready for the hot skillet. We picked up some beautiful chops for dinner eating later this week, and some breakfast sausage which was too pretty to pass up. Prices still had the post Covid inflationary bump, but we are getting used to that. If as scrumptious as anticipated, the small increase in coin will be quickly forgotten. Besides, the road-trip out to Lancaster would cost us a lot more than the drive to the outskirts of historic river town Bristol, only 25 minutes from home.

Cons: Undersized shop, insanely crowded, with narrow, nearly impassable aisles. Moving a few feet can take you several minutes, so budget lots of time for your shopping trip. Ugly, dirty-looking, run-down shop with beat-up shopping carts. Watch out for items past their pull-dates. Many very low quality items. Some technically accurate but misleading or insufficiently informative labels. Frozen bulk items may require you to defrost all of them to get just the few you need for this week. Occasional sloppy butchering technique (cockeyed cutting). No assurance of quality. Many advertised specials not available. With so many deficiencies, I'm amazed they can get the permits to stay in business. ...and I still give them 4 stars! Am I nuts? Maybe.... ...but if you can figure out how to get what you want (and avoid the bad buys), budget enough time, breathe deeply, be willing to toss your shopping list, and think of the experience as quaint instead of maddening, well then, you might just go home with an unforgettable experience and a trunkful of great, low-price food!

I was greeted with a sampler pickle board for free so I could try different things which was amazing and then I ordered the pickle soup, the fried pickles, and the pickle hoagie and I couldn't stop eating because everything was so tasty. Gabbi, the owner, shared with us her passion to serve and what they do to care for the community, which is amazing and then we had one of the best servers, Teresa, and a super nice person that checked us out as well and I'm sorry I did not get her name. No one mentioned you are not allowed in the store, how can you pick what you want if you can't go inside and look, he blocked the door like we were going to rob the place....I don't know if he did that because it's common practice or because we were people of color. I hope that anybody considering this service does their homework. I was approached at a home show…read morein January and scheduled the home visit with the salesperson the following week. Although the salesperson was extremely friendly, his knowledge about what he was selling was lacking. Either that, or he acted ignorant simply to justify what he was selling. Luckily, I was adamant about not getting their freezer, so I had no reason to continue this service after the initial purchase. I had specific items requested when we placed the first (and only) order. The primary purchase (simple chicken breasts) were the largest part of the order and it was completely missing from the order. It took multiple emails and a phone call before I finally received them nearly 6 weeks later. The 'thick cut' pork chops were thinner than the standard ones I would get at the store. When I called about it, they assured me I received the right item. I created a spreadsheet with each item against a comparable, high-end, organic item at the 'nicer' grocery stores in the area and found this service to be at least 4x the cost. Everything being individually wrapped sounds good in theory until you open them and realize that you couldn't tell the average (at best) quality until opened. Also, around 10% of them leaked when thawing out which meant the seal was garbage on these. Needless to say, they reached out a couple weeks ago asking when I would like to get my next delivery. I told them to lose my contact information and haven't heard from them since. The issues above were only about half the problems I had with the initial order and overall process. I got conned by the show floor booth worker and learned my lesson. I hope you learn from my mistake.
