Had a Phillies game and decided to stop by Durham deli really quick to grab a hoagie to bring into the Phillies game. My first time coming here and it's a pretty hidden spot where you can easily just drive by it and not even notice it. Place is very cool, lots of snacks and deli area in the back. Drinks and a coffee station as well. Ordered the Turkey hoagie with everything and you can ask for pickles and spicy and sweet peppers on the side. Hoagie is huge for about $9-$10. Totally worth it. Very delicious compact with turkey meat. Service was great. Workers were very nice and helpful. Totally recommend this spot! read more

Ordered a deli tray at Christmas. The roast beef was delicious, in a savory gravy. The Cole slaw was a little soupy for my preference, but others loved it. Potato salad was great, highly recommend. You'll always see Durham Deli's lot pretty full when you drive by. They've been cutting deli meats for decades and have a huge following. I've been there many times in years past and have been happy with my hoagies, but on my latest trip I was given total slop. The parking situation is a private lot with plenty of spaces. The inside is spacious and they have all the sides a deli should have plus several brands of chips, cookies, rolls, beverages and condiments to complete your trip. The hoagies at Durham were always packed with huge quantities/meat piled high for a cheap price. My last trip to Durham Deli was on a recent Sunday just before noon with a friend of mine. We were heading to Broad Street Brewing and were in the mood for a hoagie companion to our beer and NFL Football Sunday. We walked into the deli and encountered a miserable lady working behind the counter. I asked if she had a menu and she replied no, but asked what I was looking for. She quickly recommended an Italian hoagie. Unfortunately there was no option for prosciutto, but a $1 upgrade charge was available for a sharper provolone. My friend asked for the same. The interaction with the woman was awful, she made no eye contact, was dismissive and cold. I felt like I was bothering and annoying her.... I will say that the young lady who rang us up at the check out counter was very pleasant and friendly. When we opened our hoagies we were saddened to see how sloppy they were prepared. Broad Street brewing is basically right across the street and there is no eat in option at Durham Deli so it's not like the sandwiches traveled very far. The meats were appropriate for a simple Italian hoagie, ham, peppered ham, salami and possibly capicola. The extra sharp provolone gave it a nice snappy bite. The toppings were all over the place and the light oil and vinegar that was requested went ignored and replaced with a heavy dose of each. Everyone has a bad day, and I had never been disappointed with past trips to Durham Deli, but I don't think I'll be going out of my way again or recommending them like I have before. read more

Boy do we miss this place. We moved to Arizona 5 years and they don't know how to make a hoagie to save their lives here. Rolls are terrible, and they put shredded cabbage on them uck. Recently two Jersey mikes opened here and they are just like they are in pa and jersey. No Durham deli sandwiches but better than other local fare. read more

Durham deli is one of those old school local spots that you hope is there for the next 50 years. It does the job serving up solid sandwiches and your normal deli fare. The corned beef special was messy but still good. It had cole slaw that was on the runnier side so made a mess of the sandwich. The turkey sandwich was good too. Usually the sandwiches are amazing but the last three times I ordered my sandwich, it was not what I ordered. For example, today, I ordered a turkey and cheese Junior sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion, sweet peppers and light spicy mustard. I pay, take my sandwich to work with me, take it out of the bag, and I have the following: Turkey and cheese with spicy mustard. NO LETTUCE, TOMATO, ONION OR SWEET PEPPERS. That's unacceptable. It wasn't like the delicatessen was crowded, it was empty. I understand mistakes but really?!? But I knew I was in trouble the very moment I ordered my sandwich because I literally had to repeat myself three times when I ordered. And to top it off, the lady wrote it down on a piece of paper. Durham's is at the top of my best deli's list. From the time I walked in I knew this place was the real deal. I had read some reviews about the size, price and quality of their italian hoagie so that's what I ordered. After I placed my order they sliced the meat and constructed a monster that probably weighed two pounds. This masterpiece of a hoagie was only $6.83 and it was a bargain! In the past I would come here all the time but the last time I was there (which was now months ago) was terrible. This store does not make their employees follow the mask guidelines which is especially terrible when they are touching food. The blonde cashier had her mask pulled all the way down under her mouth and when she saw me looking at her she pulled it up but left her nose exposed. I asked her very politely to pull it up before she touches my food and she said "I'M NOT HAVING THIS CONVERSATION AGAIN TODAY" I asked for the manager who came up and "babied" her. I left and will NEVER come back. I now go to to Lou's where the food is better and the employees are friendly and they all wear masks. Shame on you Durham Deli. read more

OMG!! This place is AH-MAZING!! My brother and I traveled from western NC to visit with family and friends in PA/NJ. While in PA, we picked up my cousin, hit up this deli on his recommendation, got sandwiches and went to see our Aunt. The wait time wasn't bad, but the line told us that this was a good place to be! The staff were sooo friendly, the food beyond expectations and the price was better than just right! We had friendly banter with the woman that took our orders and she couldn't believe that we drove so far (in one day and only in the area for the weekend). The roast beef subs were scrumptious! And well worth the $10 we paid! Over-flowing with beef, provolone and all the fixin's. One hoagie turned into two meals. And the horse-radish sauce was the "icing on the cake!" If ever back in Bristol area of PA.. we'll be stopping again, that is for certain! Thank you Durham Deli - you really deserve more than 5 stars!! What an old school gem. Went here on a whim on the way to Philadelphia airport. About 5 mins off the interstate it was a quick stop. We got there around 1pm and the car park was packed. When we walked in there is a simple menu to the right of the deli counter. We both got Reuben Specials (coleslaw vs sauerkraut). Got sides of macaroni salad and tortolini salad and some deviled eggs. + 2 sodas and a pack of chips. Ratings Rubens 5/5 loads of meat, great coleslaw nice chewy bread, good Russian dressing Macaroni salad 4.5/5 just like grandma used to make it, loads o mayo! Tortolini Salad 2/5 OK nothing to write home about, kinda bland Deviled eggs 3.5/5 super old school, kinda not my cup of tea Total bill $22.15 FYI There is no seating apart from a couple of benches outside. Their hoagies are excellent all of them sometimes you go to a place and they have one or two items that are good, not here brother this place is the bomb and I was just talking about the sandwich's, you need to try the salads they are all home made just like my mom used to make. Best deli in the area. I'm not as big a fan of the italian hoagie like some of the other reviews. But I'm spoiled by Mazzanti's. Of course these are much more reasonably priced. Long story short...Yesterday while purchasing a hoagie, I left my wallet on the counter and left for home. It wasn't until late evening I noticed my missing wallet. I checked everywhere twice. Last recall was paying at Durham Deli. Needless to say I don't sleep very well. Thinking about all I had to do with stopping Credit Cards etc. I tossed and turned all night. I called Durham Deli and identified myself and Tiffany immediately knew I was calling about my lost wallet. She told me it was secured in the office and to pick it up whenever. As I was going into the store Tiffany saw me and did an about face and came into the store to retrieve my wallet for me. She refused a reward but I insisted. She gave the award to the young female employee who turned my wallet in. I was impressed with their honesty. And yes all of my cash was in the wallet. Thank you!
