Well stocked with a variety of food items. Many types of made-on-premises cheeses and yogurt. The Honor System, which they have had for years, always brings a smile to my face. I always feel good when I leave this little store. Wonderful, hardworking, friendly owners. read more

We stopped by here during a roadtrip with the help of Yelp (woot woot!) Honestly, we didn't think or expect much, we were just hungry and hoping for some good food. Omg this place is AWESOME!!!!!!! I sincerely didn't expect to see gluten-free options and was EXTREMELY happy to be able to get the grilled cheese with caramelized onions and bacon. All ingredients are grown/raised at their farm and/or locally, it was amazing!!!! Their lemonade with honey was so good! We also ordered burgers made with grass-fed beef raised at their farm right outside the cafe. We then all split a tub of delicious Adironrack Cardamom & pistachio ice cream. Wow!!!!! Delicious food and great staff! I high recommend making a stop here if you are around, it is totally worth it. read more

We ate here on a weekend trip because it was close to the house where we were staying and it was recommended by the host. We went here twice- for lunch and breakfast- and it was fantastic! The owner was super nice and the dairy products used in the dishes and sold in the store area came right from the farm out back. The meats came from the butcher about a mile down the road. We bought some blueberries to take with us and those were outstanding. If I lived in this area, I might lose my mind, but I would love visiting here frequently. Eat here for some fantastic locally sourced food and shop at the market to support local agriculture. If you are in the area, DON'T MISS THIS! read more

We can't say enough about this gem of a Farm Store. This is how real food should taste. Combined with friendly, warm and genuine service this is a winning combination and our only regret is that is soooo far from home. Whilst waiting to catch the ferry at Port Kent, we looked on Yelp and found Clover Mead Cafe. Always a bit wary of going "off the beaten track" we went in search with a bit of trepidation. Honestly, it was a wonderful find. Their burgers were sublime, the ice-cream to die for, and the butter, cheese and milk out of this world. I have always said that consistancy is the hallmark of a great property. Clover Mead Cafe under the watchful eye of chef Marla does not disappoint. Every week something new is added. Creative, well seasoned, fresh from the farm, good portions, and finally GREAT flavor. This Gem is not to be passed by while in the area. Ample picnic table seating outside the farm setting. I'm new to the Keeseville area (as in a few months) but have actually started to like it more and more, rather than what I learned of the area growing up. The #1 reason? Local farms! There seems to be so much here and I'm excited to have found it. I've been drinking raw milk for one month now and will never go back. My source is Clover Mead. Not to mention all the yummy cheeses and maple variety yogurts, among other items. I haven't even gotten a chance to try any of the cafe items since I work during those hours, but will soon! My boyfriend and our 3 kids stopped here for lunch today after The Ausable Chasm because the Ausable brewery is only open 2-8. It is a very small place and a friend of the owner took our order. The food was super fresh and yummy!! My boyfriend and I had the Reuben and the kids had the grilled cheese. I was really impressed with the quality of ingredients! The orders did take long and drinks came after. The food was worth the wait! It was on the pricey side. There isn't a kids menu and it was about $55 for the 5 of us. More staff would help, but great overall! read more

The Clover Mead Cafe is amazing. To say the ingredients they use are the freshest, tastiest around would still be an understatement. My wife's grilled cheese with caramelized onions was very special...we asked where the cheese came from, and he pointed to the building next door. It was fantastic. Her side salad had the widest variety of tasty lettuces, plants and flowers I have ever seen in any dish I have had. I was thankful she gave me the leftovers. My reuben sandwich and grilled veges were on the same par. Oh, I can't finish this review without mentioning the folks working there. Friendly, informative...amazing. Amazing find! Had the soup, salad and grilled cheese all made with the freshest ingredients straight from the farm.

I've had a few different things here and they have all been outstanding! The ingredients are always super fresh and local, and the chef does wonderful things to them every time. My favorite thing I've had there is the pound cake french toast. Sooooo yummy! There's something new every weekend, which I love! The farm yogurt is another favorite. It's perfect if you're coming over on the ferry and looking for a local place to eat, or if you need a good resting spot during a bike ride. read more

What an awesome, fresh farm lunch! We visited Ausable Chasm and were looking for a close place for lunch after. Within a mile of the Ausable Chasm, is this delightful cafe full of delicious food, baked goods, and treats. Fresh milk and eggs, fresh made cheeses, unbelievably fresh meat, fresh greens... We stumbled into this gem during our relay race. It was truly amazing. We were instantly greeted by the welcoming & warm staff. Our group was in the mood for breakfast ... So we had a couple delicious egg, cheese & bacon on a bagel. The cinnamon bread pudding was a favorite too ... along with the iced tea & coffee. We definitely recommend this place for anyone in town!
