Honestly, The Rolling Donut reminds me of Dough in NYC and Brooklyn, my favorite donut spot. Sadly, I did not have an opportunity to go back and try the red velvet donut (with cheesecake filling). After browsing over the different flavors, the attentive donutarian bagged my order of a single Lemon Poppyseed donut. While on layover in Frankfurt, I finally decided to roll into the lemon poppyseed donutiness... The donut was OK, it had a bready texture, which made sense, because it was a sourdough donut. The glaze on top of the donut was really thick, and it wasn't overly sweet to my taste buds. The glaze also had a light lemon flavor that provided some tartness, and just a few poppy seeds on top. As my friend had mentioned, their donuts are kind of big and filling for one person to eat alone, so I would definitely recommend sharing the love! (and calories)

It's a small shop, like very small shop so seating is more than extremely limited. That was OK since I knew we would be walking away eating. It's also fun to watch them making donuts right behind the glass in the store. Since there are not to many people inside at any one time and two people behind the counter they are very attentive. I also had a specialty coffee which they make on the spot. There is a great selection of fresh and delicious speciality doughnuts and a "Donut of the day" but we were too late for that. We left and continued our walk only to stop for a minute and use a pail as our table. These donuts are good.... I mean really good.
