Let me start by saying that I am a former medical marijuana patient who cancelled his own membership at a neuroscience clinic. I have lived in the Elmwood Village since before 2008. Every time I've visited Cloud 9 Smokes & Vapors, the few people who run the store were working behind the counter were completely unhelpful, rude and disrespectful for no reason. They gave misleading information about their products, and were not only agitated with me but infuriated. Only being a valid and inquiring customer when I asked about whether or not they sold completely legal products, usually sold nationally all over at different kinds of businesses, such as:Salvia Divinorum (quote from law site: "In New York you are allowed to purchase Salvia Divinorum in any quantity" and RoboTablets (dextromethorphan in pure form for the treatment of cough and depression, see RoboCough.com)..one of them started tapping their fingers frantically on the desk with a dirty look on their face directly aimed at me, implying that I was taking up too much of their time and should leave because it had been more than sixty seconds to two minutes, and another claimed that I came in asking for pills because I made a reference to the legal product RoboTablets (which is sold at not only smoke shops but online retailers including amazon) Meanwhile... Some of their products include cracker accessories/chargers (related to the abuse of Nitrous Oxide "whippets"), Kratom (a powder that while is helpful for addicts of prescription medications such as opioids is itself a powerful and highly addictive herbal stimulant and painkiller), "Legal Lean" (a product personally found to be grossly offensive due to it's design, which mimics an opioid cough suppressant [ten times more addictive than the nonaddictive dextromethorphan compound previously mentioned] syrup highly popularized by criminals, celebrities, and groups which glamorize and romanticize debilitating addictions) and "Adall XR" (a product that clearly mimics Adderall XR, a powerful, addictive and illegal without a prescription substance containing strong, potent amphetamines) all of which are advertised in plain sight to any customer or person who happens to walk in, a lot of which are looking for alternatives to substances they are in recovery from being addicted to, not cheap, bootleg pseudo-scientific and misleading versions of those same substances they were trying to get away from. Their stock is sloppy, chaotic and messy, with Delta-8 THC edibles, CBD products and pipes scattered all around their closed in space at the front desk, and when I asked about Delta-10 THC, another recently made legal form of cannabis/hemp medicinals, I was scoffed at and ridiculed, and directed to a bunch of products that as stated before were confusing, unmarked for pricing, and very chaotic. I did not ask about "pills" as if I ever said something so vague, nor had I referenced anything illegal (never did), because as I used to frequent this store all the time I always tried to show them not only respect but an immense amount of appreciation. Well, I'm now writing this review because I know for a fact that I was judged last time I was there, only viewed as a junkie, or as a drug addict lower in social status than them because I didn't have hundreds of dollars to give them for overpriced mildly effective medicinals and because I had the nerve to inquire about some things that should be regulated and information about these things should be taught to retailers the specifics of, since all the one man said was "I don't know anything about this stuff". Most of my purchases were not for me, with the exception of things I inquired about and got judged harshly for, but for a sick family member who was recently diagnosed with a disease that will take their life away from them in a matter of a few years. These men who work at this smoke shop will not assist you if you ask about their products, and do not encourage you to study or be at all skeptical and inquisitive about anything they sell, instead they want you to decide, buy & get out. read more
