NOTE: The restaurant has recently rebranded to Clockwork Pizza. Short Review: This pizza is so good. I mean, just awesome. Try it. The cheesecake was also delicious. My wife asked me to pick up dinner tonight on short notice so I decided to give the Clock a try. It has recently rebranded to Clockwork Pizza and I saw a Facebook post boasting of NY style pizza. I wasn't optimistic, I've had a lot of NY style pizza that merely claims the title without bringing the proper taste and texture. I ordered a large pepperoni and a large Hawaiian (my wife's favorite). I was blown away. It's the best pizza I've had since moving to Spartanburg 5 years ago, and the only good NY style. We also got a slice of the strawberry cheesecake out of the dessert case and it was very good. Not sure if they make it on site or source it from elsewhere but it's very good. We got takeout so I cannot comment on the ambiance or decor, but I would happily eat this pizza in my car in the parking lot if I didn't like the inside of the restaurant. Stay away from this place, it was awful. I ordered 2 hot dogs deluxe plates with half fries and half onion rings. The deluxe comes with French fries but when I said I wanted them half and half, I was charged full price for half and half $4.99. In addition to the price of $6.99 for the hot dog deluxe. Total bill came to $20.20. No big deal i just won't do that next time. Oh wait, there won't be a next time. When I took the order home, there was a lot of food, however the onion rings on both orders were burnt and stuck together. The hot dog was covered with chili and onions probably to hide what was underneath. The bun was soggy and just fell apart. The hot dog didn't look well, like it had been boiling in water since March. This is such a convenient place to eat with a very large menu. Even the pickiest of eaters should be able to find something to enjoy off of their menu. I really enjoy their salads. The service was a little slow because they were busy. But even busy they had no issues seating our party of 8. It's a nice down home restaurant. It's very casual too. My husband frequently eats here before going to work and this was my first experience since the change. I'm not sure how the description of the cheeseburger and the actual burger match up. Basically, I had a condiment sandwich with an ultra thin slice of cheese on an equally thin patty. If I do return, I will definitely order a side of onion rings only. I gotten a ribeye steak sandwich lettuce tomato mayo , I would say it was tender well cooked it was really good. I went back week later eat in as I did before order same but I got plate French fries chicken dumplings. Oh I could not believe it I also have proof and pictures. The ribeye was very pink inside very tough could not eat it. I ask well done bread was hard French fries were almost frozen inside no joke for real honest chicken dumplings was cold taste like powdered milk. I told waitress and boss they would not make it good I left food on table as it was brought to me paid my 11. And change. They saw it and said we are sorry . I will never go back there ever again been going for years. Please be careful what you order. And honest God's truth I order cheeseburger before hamburger meat was crumbled up on bread ask lettuce tomato mayo. I took it back told them about hamburger crumbled on bread no tomato so they took it consuming it was right got home same cheeseburger crumbled meat and surprise I had a small tomato in bag not even sliced put on the cheeseburger. I've eat at many places in my life but this by far is the most nasty basic blandest most unreal in the term of no flavor I've ever had in my life. Poor customer service the girl that was at the front door acted like we were a burden to her walked us to a table and never returned after 10-15 minutes we decided to leave, there was only one table with customers so it definitely wasn't work overload. Terrible and overpriced! I ordered 2 hot dogs and chips and was $15!!! Tried to eat one of the hot dogs (mind you I live 2 minutes away) and the bread was so soggy the next whole thing fell apart! I got a fried chicken dinner to go and it was the absolute worst. If you have watched Christmas Vacation where Chevy Chase cuts the turkey and it splits open with nothing inside and everyone is gnawing on what is left, well this chicken was worse than that. There was no moisture in it. The breast was as light as a feather and was worse that trying to eat jerky. Sorry Clock but you completely failed with this meal. We had eaten at one of the other local Clock restaurants in the past and was hoping this one was just as good. Definitely not so. The food was just so-so. The onion rings and salad were good but the hamburger steak was greasy and bland while the shrimp wrap was dry. The service was good and the restaurant was comfortable. The most disappointing, and the biggest reason for the low rating, was the drive-thru help sitting, not leaning, sitting with feet dangling in the air, on the food prep counter at the checkout when we were leaving. The managers and others were all around him and no one said anything about it. With that kind of disregard for cleanliness, it made me wonder what the remainder of the kitchen area looked like. I am normally a huge fan of all clock restaurants, but they are not all made equal. My husband and I stopped to grab a couple of burgers (that were good) and some extra crispy fries. I can only assume someone in the kitchen was being lazy because the fries were burnt. Basically, they refried a batch that had been sitting for a while. I'm disappointed. Very cold inside, place rips you off, on half cooked food, would not recommend this place to anyone, when you ask to talk to management, they tell you the manager is not in, half cooked food, at a high price, no wonder there was no other customers, except myself. Don't go there and be disappointed, like I was tried it, but never again. Finally got hold of management the next day, talked to Mike, George, the owner, would not come to the phone. Don't waste your time or money going there. No wonder the place had no business, one lady said, it's always like winter in here. Told a couple outside not to go in, they returned to their car. I haven't been to a Clock Restaurant in ages, if ever, but I went over to this location with a friend of mine yesterday. They also call it "The Super Clock". The service here was really fast and good on a Friday night. I ordered me a plain, double bacon cheeseburger and fries. You get a decent amount of food for the price, but I think Crawford's in Cowpens and Sugar'n Spice downtown have a slightly better burger and overall value. After you're finished eating, you pay for your meal up front. Tip the waitress if she did great :) Again, the Clock is nothing super special and there's better eateries around, but it's leaps and bounds ahead of most fast food places. Staff was pretty frindly. Most of the people around me received incorrect dishes or were missing items. I ordered the clock burger and opted for the side salad. The salad was fresh and delicious. The burger was nothing to write home about- my salad came with wrong dressing, they forgot my cole slaw and they still gave me fries even though I substituted the salad. I wont be returning. Quite possibly the best service I've ever received from young people at this location. Unfortunately the food has taken a downward turn recently. The Greek salad used to be a 10. The last 2 times it looks like the olives have been substituted and the greens weren't very fresh. That said, I do like the ribeye sandwich pretty well. When I say I've never experienced racism at a restaurant until I came here!! Picked up a Togo order and the hostess or whoever she was came over and told me my total and didn't even THINK to give me my receipt so I can tip. She swiped my card and gave it back and said have a good day, didn't give me a copy to sign or anything. I guess black people can't tip. We love the food at the Super Clock. The staff is friendly and service is prompt. However, the place is so cold it's uncomfortable. They have remodeled and it looks nice. It's just too cold to comfortably enjoy a meal. Also, the floors are slick. I was told that the tile on the floor sweats and that's why it has to be cold. What???? I think it's whatever they use to mop the floors that makes them slick. Someone is going to slip and fall. Called in for a couple of burger plates to take out. Food is very average but already know that from eating there previously. My problem was getting home and finding my order completely wrong. I ordered double bacon chili cheeseburger with mustard, slaw, and onions in addition to the chili and bacon. My sandwich had no bacon, no slaw, and no onions. I called back to inform them of this. I understand orders can be wrong. I've owned restaurants in the past. What I couldn't get past was the attitude from the female "owner" who I know was the one who took my order. She proceeded to argue with me about what I ordered even though I had my receipt and the menu in front of me which showed I was charged exactly for what I believed I had ordered. She said my only recourse was to drive back and bring everything back. No taking my name and offering a small credit for continued future business. So........guess what, my family and local friends (over 20 customers) will no longer patronize this establishment. And possibly even more potential customers who read this review. There are just way too many much better choices to chose from who will appreciate my business. All this because an "owner" would rather argue with a repeat customer instead of righting a wrong. If I had been offered even a $3 or $5 credit all would have been good. Oh, and I wish I could have given zero stars, not one. It would be the perfect number for their "customer service".
