cars parked in a parking lot

Definitely worth a stop almost every time you're in Spartanburg. The parking lot was packed, but I did find a spot. The line was long, however, it wasn't outrageous. By the time you figure out what you want, it is time for you to place your order, and you place your order in the area almost as soon as you walk in. The menu has a variety if you do not want a burger. I went with the bacon cheeseburger plate which was soo good! Everything is practically cooked to order which I appreciate. The only thing I didn't like was how the teas and lemonades were sitting out given the time we are in with Covid, monkey pox, and even just your basic cold. It didn't take too long for the order to be ready. Like I said everything was delicious, cooked well and fresh. The restroom was dated but decently clean. I can't wait until the next time I'm in the area and have the opportunity to stop in again for that juicy burger and good french fries!

Hot fudge cake

Was traveling back from Blue Ridge parkway and stopped in Spartanburg for gas at Costco and lunch. I didn't want a chain so I found this gem that's been around over 60 years. I got a Jumbo Cheeseburger, half onion rings and half fries, and a sweet tea. The burger was perfect. The patties were seasoned, toppings fresh, cheese melted between the Pattie's, and final touch cut in half so easy to eat The onion rings were somehow cooked crispy and yet not greasy. The coating stayed in place bite after bite. The fries were just as good, not greasy, nice crunch and fluffy potato inside. I had to try the dessert after this wonderful meal and chose the Hot Fudge cake. I was not prepared for what I got. I can describe it as a cake ice cream sandwich covered in hot fudge with 4 mounds of whip cream in the corners. It also was delicious The service was fantastic also. This is a family owned place and one of the descendants of the originators was working the ordering window and helped me pick my meal. The cashier was friendly and the person who I asked about the hot fudge cake said no problem, I make you one. I found I delayed her break but she smiled and handed it to me. I also noticed someone had a problem with their order and approached an employee. She was courteous and took it away and brought him a fresh burger to his table So if you are in the area stop by and be part of their next 60 years

First time here and got some amazing chicken tenders, fries, onion rings and sweet tea! They were very busy and had to wait maybe 10 mins to order but to me that's a good sign that the food is good so I won't complain! My husband ordered the same thing. Everyone including the owner (i think that's who he was) was very nice and patient. I would definitely go back to try that chocolate cake they have and maybe the BLT. Check this local place out if you haven't already! They even posted my son's first music single out on their board. His name is Jay Gallant and the song is "Fool For You" ... support local!!! Thanks Sugar and Spice!

Fantastic food and great service! Sweet tea is refreshing and delicious, the meal I got was very filling after a long day of work. Would recommend to anyone!

Nothing special. Burger was ok- no flavor. Fries cold. Underwhelmed and not reflective of what I had been expecting. Will not go back

Steak kebabs are the best, but everything is good. Great prices, huge portions. It's nothing fancy but definitely a Spartanburg classic.

I was eating a standard all the way dog. My buddy started asking about whether NW offers live music. We were informed that an open jam commences every Thursday at 9. "9:00pm? Must not be bluegrass. . . That's fine, I'm in." I thought to myself. Dropped Jared off. Got out of work attire, grabbed a couple guitars, and went back to Sparkle City to see about this jam. It wasn't quite what I would call a jam, but lemme tell you. There's this four piece band who plays a bitchin set to get everybody in the mood, then, something that seems like the bastard child of open mic and karaoke ensues. Musicians are encouraged to come lay something down. They can play solo, or they can be accompanied by a band who can quickly learn the song. What an opportunity, do John on the drums, Shawn on the slide with an SG, Drew (?) with a hollow body Telecaster and (sorry I forgot the name, but) Santa Ray Cyrus on the more than 4 strings bass, offer to amateur musicians! You can lead a band for a few songs! This is the kind of bar where all walks of life commune. The staff is prompt and polite. The drinks are affordable. Douchebaggery seems to be minimal. Oh yeah, if the hot dog orders aren't too backed up, Josh (the executive chef) sits in on the drums. He can flat out play! Thanks for the gracious hospitality, band members and bar staff. I'll be back as time allows. Great job!

Suitcase Social Club Dispatch No. 47: "Timmy vs. The Lumberjacks"…read more If you've ever wondered what happens when a grown man with sales quotas, a mild caffeine imbalance, and the attention span of a golden retriever discovers competitive lumberjack sports streaming on the bar TV... well, allow me to submit Exhibit A. I wandered into Main Street Bar & Eatery for what was supposed to be a "quick bite between quotes." Instead, I became spiritually welded to a barstool while the TV blasted a man in flannel yeeting a chainsaw like it owed him money. And the fried pickles. Good grief. Those things ambushed me. One minute I'm thinking "I'll just have a snack," and the next I'm waist-deep in a basket of fried circles of temptation, crunching my way into oblivion while pretending to "work." My laptop was open, sure, but let's not lie to ourselves -- I got absolutely nothing done. I was too busy yelling advice at professional lumberjacks like I'd trained for this moment my whole life. Tim the Suitcase Regular Rating Breakdown: * Atmosphere: Cozy but with the unpredictable energy of a log-rolling final * Food: Fried pickles that could ruin a man's productivity in the best possible way * Service: Friendly, fast, and kindly nonjudgmental of whatever fever dream I was living in * Entertainment: 10/10 involuntary lumberjack immersion If you're looking for a place where you can lose an entire afternoon under the noble banner of "I swear I'm still working", Main Street Bar & Eatery is the arena.
