I don't usually leave reviews, but Chef Ae's Restaurant definitely deserves one! My mom and I had such a great experience. I ordered the patty melt with fries, and my mom got the Big Nick Burger with fries. Everything came out fresh, hot, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was full of flavor, and you could really tell everything was made with care. The ambiance was peaceful, clean, and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a good meal. What really stood out, though, was the owner. She was so kind, respectful, and genuinely made us feel like valued customers. You can tell she puts her heart into both the food and the way she treats people. Cool location-old building near the Amtrak station. Nice vibe. I came to try a burger and decided on the pork belly sandwich. If the burgers a great then I made a mistake. Pork belly should be crispy exterior and buttery soft fat. Not a pork crouton. The bun was WAY out of proportion for the amount of meat and it was too toasted. Fries were good though. We tried Chef Ae's today for lunch. The young woman at the counter was lovely and very helpful as we ordered. She gets a huge thumbs up! I ordered the tuna salad and hubby asked for the goat's cheese salad minus the pork belly. The tuna salad was a nice portion for $10.50 although no boiled egg as mentioned in the description. Hubby's goat's cheese salad was a huge disappointment for $14.00. He received a bowl of slightly elderly greens with 2 halved cherry tomatoes, 2 halved grapes and a half slice of a toast( not even a full slice)with a tiny amount of goat's cheese spread on top, oh and a very small container with a few nuts, no dried fruit as mentioned on the menu description. Our lunch was disappointing. For $30 we expected a bit more....Sorry Chef Ae. Ps... we did leave our thoughts with the server re our food. read more

Service was great! Very sweet people here! The food was very disappointing and expensive for what you got. $4 for 5 onion rings. Two tiny egg rolls for $3 seriously disappointed. I keep saying this about Spartanburg, if you never had good food, eating crappy food will satisfy your taste buds. Hamburger was hard to mess up, however the pork bacon was cooked to the point I'd refer to as a dog chew. Coming back is not an option. My girlfriends fried rice was flavorless. Exceptionally Wonderful Experience ! Very near the Fairgrounds. We had a walk-in group of 15 persons and the lady owner quickly greeted and seated us. She was extra polite , professional and the food was prepared Hot , Fresh, and Tasty. The portions were generous and such a variety of choices, we all had something to choose from. My date had the Thai sausage burger which he enjoyed. The fries and onion rings were hot and crisp. Nice coating on the rings. This is an order at the counter, serve your own drinks kind of place. The food is brought to your table when ready. Very friendly. Clean. Priced well. Quality food. The desserts looked great, displayed in a glass case, and most are made on site. We shared an order of macrons which were as good as the ones we had recently had in Paris. The menu has lots besides burgers, and I'll be trying some of the other sandwiches or meals soon. We had the Paris(ian) Burger, with cheese and mushrooms on a brioche and the grilled pimento cheese sandwich. Both were delicious. The plastic cutlery has to go; otherwise a nice experience. What a great little place . Came here on a recommendation from our friends. We just moved here and the food had been a little disappointing until we found Chef Ae's. The menu is so interesting and different. We both had a burger and both were delicious. Not all bread which we love . The flavor of everything was great. The yellow chicken curry had good flavor, however it was not spicy at all. I prefer spicy curry. In addition to that, there were numerous chicken bones in my food. It made it inedible. After the first one I just ignored. But there was more and more chicken bones in each bite I took. Just nauseating. My husband got the patty melt with fries. Heard about this restaurant for awhile but just haven't had a chance to stop by and eat. Restaurant is located right next to the train museum. The owners were very nice and took the time to make sure any of our questions were answered. The burgers and fries were very good.
