5 Stars - I've Seen the Light (and It's Covered in Chili and Cheese) Okay, The Dog House... where have you been all my life?? I finally rolled through the drive-thru (because let's be honest, I wasn't getting out of the car with this humidity), and let me tell you -- my taste buds did a happy dance and then asked me why I took so long to visit. I ordered a chili cheese burger with fries and slaw, and baby, that combo slapped. I'm talking messy, cheesy, juicy goodness that made me question every other burger I've ever had. The crew at the window? Sweet as tea on a Sunday porch. Friendly, fast, and all smiles -- which is rare these days when you're not even stepping inside. A couple pro tips: They charge a small fee for card use -- no biggie, just bring cash and save the change for extra fries. And get this -- 10 hot dogs or corn dogs for $12. I mean... what in the recession-proof snack pack is this blessing? Anyway, don't be like past me -- go now. Your stomach will thank you, and so will your wallet. The Dog House? More like Top Dog in my book. I had to call them and tell them how amazing my visit was! My tastes buds are still dancing! No, thank you Brandon! Wow! I will definitely come back with my family next time and eat inside. My kids love corn dogs! read more

They have some Great food. love the staff so much. I come here all the time . Burger is a nice recommendation for the first order

Pretty decent service, more of a novelty. I ordered the cheeseburger with bacon inside and only received a small piece of bacon. I did return to ask for more bacon.(gotta have the bacon) They do have sports memorabilia around the Bar which gives it a cozy look. read more

Great little spot. Food was very good. Service was friendly and fast. We will definitely be back again and again.

Good lunch spot. Never had an issue with anything. I always get a kick out of them putting the food in dog bowls.

Stopped in earlier today. The food was edible. We got burgers. They came out way too fast. There is zero chance that these were cooked to order. Still ate the whole burger, but we have had better. Fries were the highlight, if there was one. Coke was flat. Staff was friendly enough. It wasn't far out of our way, but not likely to take that detour next time. Better food is not far away. read more

Dog House - a dog sitting on the roof of a car - Burgers Near Me - Campobello, South Carolina

Everything we have ordered has been great. Cheeseburgers - hot dogs - French fries were great and we love the Blue Bunny ice cream. You can order a cone, cup or milkshake in any flavor they have. They have a special ice cream "flavor of the month". October was Pumpkin Spice. One other month it was Pistachio. I loved both of them. It is a very small place with a few tables. You can go inside to order or pick up. I usually go to the drive thru window. It gets backed up sometimes. Your order might take awhile if that happens. Just be prepared to wait a few minutes. Everything is made when you order so that's the reason for the wait. Service at the order/pick up Window is always friendly. They have always been happy to answer any of my questions. I appreciate having this choice for lunch, dinner or a snack way out in the country (Campobello). I will update my review as I try different items. Thank you!! read more

Not as good as I hoped. I compare all the hot dog spots I visit to one spot in Lancaster, Ma! He has the 5 hot dog!! This had a strange flavor to the dog they use. Cool spot and great service! read more

Hamburger was large but tasteless. Had been premade and just sitting somewhere until someone ordered it. The cold bun right out of a supermarket plastic package did not help. Some may like frozen fries with coating but I don't. My wife said hot dog was fine. Not inexpensive for what we got. I always like small non chain restaurants and look for "holes in the wall" places. , But in this case I wish I had travelled further to , well, anyplace else. read more

Killer pimento cheese hamburger... yumm Awesome hot dogs with chili simply a great little place!! read more

We love this place! Hot dogs are great and the fries are the crinkle cut! Service is good and the staff is friendly especially Heather!

I've been once with my husband and we were thinking about going again for lunch today.. started looking at reviews and saw the business owner reply (which was incredibly sarcastic and blatantly rude to his unsatisfactory customer) and decided we won't be taking our business here. How you treat our community is more important than a burger. Even after Big Daddy closing, this won't be our new burger spot. Cool pictures on the wall though. read more

The wings are absolutely amazing and everything is cooked to order, so the food is always fresh. My kids and I really love everything we've ordered. read more

We were in the business on Saturday October 30,2021. We arrived at 2:40 pm. There was a sign on the door stating that they were closing at 3:00 pm for Halloween. We were just ordering burgers and fries and were told that they didn't have any more burgers; so we ordered Hotdogs. We sat down at a table and waited for our food. There was other customers coming in. We felt like that we could eat our food and be out of there by 3:00 pm or shortly afterwards. We got our food and hurried to finish it. Our complaint was that a young lady with blonde hair was behind the counter washing the serving pans. She was banging and slamming them as loud as possible . Then she proceeded to come to the dining area and stack the chairs. She picked them up and dropped them into each other. There was two small little boys sitting near where she was banging the chairs and I know that she scared them to death. I've never witnessed such rudeness. We talked to that family as we were leaving and they said that was their first time there and that they had never witnessed such outright rudeness. By the way the other young lady was a peach. She's truly your only asset. Your food is very good, but you need to work on your customer service. By the way we left at 3:10 pm. They should have allowed the customers served before 3:00 pm to finish their food without a server reacting the way that young lady did. Brenda M. read more

I love their burgers. Real meat and thick burgers. Homemade ranch is always good with their chips as well!

Love this restaurant! Workers are very friendly and the burgers are great. Its a must to stop by if you're in the area.

See my review in the other Doghouse selection. I don't know why these reviews are so poor. I feel they deserve a better opinion. read more

I WONT BE BACK!!! I arrived at 1025am and was the only one in the restaurant....I ordered the Pimento Burger and after 20 minutes, I asked the waitress if I would get me food soon....she said she had to clean the French fry basket before I could get my food... REALLY??? After another 10 minutes another lady brought my food to my table and never said a word read more

The food here is pretty good. But the man who I assume is the owner has to be one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. He acts like taking your order is an inconvenience for him on the phone and in person. This is a small community with very few restaurants. If you ever read this Mr. Rudepants, remember you get more flies with honey than vinegar. read more

I have to admit the employees are usually very rude. The food is good, usually. I was going to get a burger once and they had a "monthly special" with cheddar on it. When I tried to order it the man at the register said "We don't have cheddar. Never have, just American." If this was my first time here I would have wrote it off as he's just have a bad day. But I come here once or twice a month when passing through to run errands and he is ALWAYS a jerk! Everyone is usually, they're slow as well. If the food wasn't cheap and (usually) good I would stop coming. read more

Food is good but the service not so much. The owner is such a jerk he cannot keep good help. I went in to place an order to go, a five year old boy was at the checkout counter trying to get a refill for his mother because they could not get table service. The owner was rude to the kid and to me. I left without placing order and will not be back. read more

Love this place, it's not gourmet snob food. It's good old fashioned, make you fat comfort food. Great dogs, fries and grease. Don't forget to add chili! read more

I don't know why this place has gotten so many bad reviews. The food is always fantastic. Yeah the owner can be a bit dry but if you really knew him you would know thats just his personality and he actually does love what he does. He is also great with our 5yr old son who can sometimes be a bit much which in my book is an automatic 5stars!! When asked where to go eat 9/10 times my family yells THE DOG HOUSE!! We love it!! read more

I have tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt quite a few times. The food is good but the owners/employees are just rude. If you don't like the business SELL IT! read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE:. I love the food here. Waited in drive thru for 20 minutes went inside waited another 10 mins before the guy that was in drive thru left so go back hoping to get served better. After waiting bother 5 mins they take my orders then have me pull to the back door yet hey let another customer make me wait 30 mins to get to the window. read more

I have been to this restaurant many times hoping to have better luck with the service. The first time I came to eat here, I was very disappointed but I decided that the delicious burger was worth it. However, it was not. The owner is incredibly rude and the next 2 times after this, they messed up both my order as well as my friend's. My friend asked for a cookies and cream milkshake which they didn't even make until he went back up to remind them (this was at a time where we were the only people in the place). However, when it was eventually made, it was a plain vanilla milkshake. They also charge extra for cups of sauce that they sometimes "forget" to bring you. In summary, great food, horrible service. read more

Rude owner each time ive been there. Probably wont be back. Last visit was borderline. Closed door in my face 10 min before closing time. Was gonna get a to go order but he didnt care. Still had dine in customers at the time that just sat down read more

Burger was thick but dry. Almost definitely pre-made and sitting in water until someone ordered it, at which point it was reheated. Fries were a store-brand, frozen pile of Meh. Milkshakes were watery, "a waste of calories," my wife said. Service was curt, and a tad shy of being rude. I had a hunch that this place may be an awesome hole-in-the-wall, but I was wrong. This place ranks well below middle school baseball concessions. read more

Had to stand in line for a long time to just order. The woman who took my order could not tell me what kind of cheese they had. Disorganized but food is good. About place in town so they will be busy regardless. Recommend you don't come here during busy periods read more

Awesome hand patted burgers. Sweet fries are a must try. Hand spun milkshakes. Staff can be a little short tempered when busy but other than that no complaints. read more

When my boss announced that we were all going to the Dog House yesterday, I wasn't quite sure what to think. When he pulled up to an old, side-of-the-road restaurant that looked like a potential food poisoning factory, I was convinced he had lost his mind. However, this place makes some great, no frills food at an incredibly reasonable price. I got a pimento cheese burger, and I expected the patty to be your typical wafer thin, incredibly dry, pre-made patty for $3.99. However, I was quite pleasantly surprised when a delicious, juicy burger showed up instead. Fries add $2 more, but you get a huge order. Between 5 of us, we each ordered a burger or a hot dog and the table split 2 orders of fries, and we were all stuffed walking out. The decor is about what you'd expect from the outside appearance, but the food and the prices definitely make up for it. This place is a great hole-in-the-wall find! read more
