Four of us came on a sunny day for lunch hoping to find some good quality southern cooking. We really enjoyed our appetizers, which included the plump Fried Soft Shell Crabs, Spring Salad (w/ fresh SC strawberries), and Fried Mushrooms. The entrees were somewhat less satisfactory. Nothing really bad in any way, but did not compared to their initial offerings. The full rack of Smoked Ribs were a little dry, while the Shrimp & Grits needed more flavor. All in all, a pretty good meal and I would certainly come back when back in Landrum again. Hopefully I get to try some of the unique dishes that they offer, but weren't available that day.

Everything came out perfectly and everyone was impressed with the meal. The waitress was so nice, especially with a big group that was a little indecisive at the end of the night. It felt welcoming, and not just because the classic bbq shop decor, and tucked away feeling inside the building. This was my first trip to South Carolina and the first stop was Southern Manners - it did not disappoint! We had a huge group of ladies to celebrate our bride and the staff were all fabulous - big shout out to our cashier/server, Jaden! He was amazing and so accommodating with our 19 top. The ordering was as smooth as it could be and Jaden made sure to go around asking any questions he had about the orders. The food came out relatively quick considering how many people we had and I really appreciate the staff. The tall male server that is always there is an absolute delight, and makes all of his customers feel cared about and welcome. He's my favorite waiter, but all the waitstaff is friendly and kind. This place is one of Inman's best-kept secrets. Every meal I've had here has been excellent, and it's become one of my go-to spots when I want a meal I know I'll enjoy. The desserts are fantastic, and as someone who appreciates gluten-free options, I love that they offer choices that are actually delicious and not an afterthought. My only complaint is I wish they'd bring the big fat steak fries back instead of the thing crispy ones they started getting. When my plate arrived I immediately knew I made the right choice, the light biscuit was fluffy with a crunchy bottom smothered in a delicious sausage gravy and the sage sausage was to die for it was definitely spicy but the hand formed patties is like nothing I've experienced before. Whoever the hell Charlie is he should be extremely proud of his creation it's exceptional and of very high quality. The pancake was perfectly executed as well and one pancake is a large portion so if you order more than one you better be extremely hungry - it light and fluffy and stands tall on the plate, add lots of syrup and real butter and it's something worth bragging about. The staff here are happy people and it shows they take pride in what they do, besides the food being absolutely delicious it's very reasonably priced. We decided to get breakfast on the way to Greenville and happened upon this charming place along the way. It's southern country decor were not only warm and inviting, but screamed comfort food! The setting boasts seating both indoor and a large outdoor deck! The views are those of a country farm, including the chickens, rabbits, peacocks and sheep ( a few of them free range) the food was good but not exceptional! The service was personal, neighborly like they've known you for years. The overall experience was definitely worth the stop! .... Fast forward to last week, my wife booked an AIRBNB for our most recent visit to family in SC. She thought it would be fun to book a tiny home and decided on a farm setting. We hadn't realized until we arrived that the tiny home we booked was on the same property and part of the same business as the Country House Cafe'! We were both pleasantly surprised, the tiny home was very cozy and extremely comfortable, but if you're looking for lots of room this is not the place for you! Bonus....the stay at one of their tiny homes comes with breakfast at the restaurant each day you stay!
