Went at 7:30 on a Monday. Restaurant less than half full. We waited 10 minutes and still not greeted by a waitress or given menus. After a few more minutes of waiting and being ignored, our entire table got up and left. Sad because we used to come here 3 times a week the first few years they opened. My parents knew George the owner on a first name basis. Now that I'm an adult who lives with my own family of four in the five forks area, I wanted to start going there again with my children. The food was great much better than expected when it comes to diners at least for us. My dad and brother who got the Charbroiled Ribeye said it was worth it. I liked the Gyro and fries. The onion rings were not what I was used to but still good. Service was also great, very friendly and made sure everything was the way we wanted. Very disappointed in this restaurant ordered a taco salad at 715, picked it up at 730 got home at 740 and meat was cold. Called to let them know and the manager trys and tell me that basically it's my fault I guess I was supposed to wait and order it when I got to the restaurant instead of calling it in on my way up there. Great meat and 3 right near our neighborhood. With the exception of the quality of food maybe hit or miss- especially when you do take out. I have had a dine in order where the rice was dry and crunchy. The waitress are nice and friendly. In regards to take out, the young workers can mess up your order and the owner/manager is real hesitant to correct the order or make things right. read more

My son and I went to the Five Forks Library (Best we've been to in the County) and coming back we stopped at the Spice Diner. Honestly, it doesn't look like much coming in the door. But, stick around it's worth the wait. We both ordered the double Cheeseburger special and just like that we had the best double Cheeseburger we had in years. The service was quick and the chow righteous, for a few bucks more than a Big Mac meal. AND it came with free Sweet Tea and Dessert. One of our favorite restaurants!! We lived in Simpsonville, SC during 2008-2012 and have recently moved back in 2021. This was our favorite local restaurant and we're glad to see them still in business. Great food and excellent service is why they've stood the test of time. We usually go to the Clock in Greer, SC even though it's a 20:00 minute drive on a good day. However, Jimmy who owns "The Clock" in Greer informed us his cousin, George owns "The Spice Diner" in Five Forks on Woodruff Rd. We've read several reviews which after going to "The Spice Diner" doesn't seem accurate. The Spice Diner is very clean, has friendly staff and wonderful food. I enjoy the owner, George is on the floor, helping at several stations along side his staff and greeting customers. The food is amazing and comes out remarkably fast. The parking lot is very clean and easily accessible. The restaurants temperature is perfectly regulated. After giving this place a chance, we will definitely be back.
