Went with a group of my mother-in-law's friends for lunch during the week. It was cafeteria style. There were about six choices for the entree, more than that for sides. You can also choose a salad and dessert and a choice of roll or biscuit. I just got water to drink but there was soda, tea and lemonade. Evidently the menu varies with daily specials. I chose the fried chicken, fried okra, turnip greens, and a biscuit. I asked for dark meat; I was thinking I'd get a thigh or a small leg and thigh. I hit the jackpot. The two pieces were huge. The batter/crust wasn't my favorite, but it was still delicious. The sides were good. The biscuit was what my grandmother called a "cat head" biscuit. (Representing the size). It was yummy. This is a great place for Seniors with walkers (like the mother-in-law). The staff was great. They carried her tray to the table and brought our drinks to the table. The server we had was very attentive-keeping our glasses filled and taking away dishes as we were done. Since the mother-in-law was buying I didn't notice the prices. AND I totally forgot to take pictures. I plan to take the hubby at some point to this restaurant. I think he would enjoy it. I did. It also seemed to be a local favorite. If you're in the mood for some good Southern comfort food definitely give this place a try. read more

OJ's is a nice place to come if you want that nostalgic feel of being in one of those old school restaurants your grandparents took you to after church on Sundays. On the other hand, it is not place you come if you want great customer service and great food. The food is okay at best and the workers can be quite rude at times. I had lunch at OJ's today in Easley. My meal was a side salad, pulled turkey, and a tea. I felt I was overcharged at $9.00 for the meal. I spoke with a waitress about the meal and explained what I got for the price. She said I should have got another side for that amount. I was disappointed with the cost of my meal. Turkey was on the tuff side and side salad was some that could have been purchased in a bag from a grocery store with a few grape tomatoes and sliced cucumbers. When I first walked through the door, I was okay. Went to order my food, the woman who was fixing my food asked the person in front and behind me if they wanted roll or cornbread. Not once asked me. I've never been here before, so I was thinking you fix your own drink. The short black woman snatched my cup out my hand and said we'll fix your drink. I'm from Mississippi, so I'm used to real southern hospitality. I didn't feel any of it there. I got the baked chicken, macaroni and turnip greens. I tasted the chicken and felt like I was eating paper. It had no taste to it. The macaroni was okay; so was the turnip greens. I will not be going back to this place. OJ's is a great place for lunch. I had heard about OJ's in Greenville and in Easley years ago, but never had time to visit. I looked up the location on Google and found the directions. So, I decided to take a chance. I had baked chicken, black eyed peas, turnip greens, and chocolate cake with unsweet tea. Everything was excellent. If you like Southern style home cooking done perfectly this is a place you should try. I'll go back again when I have time and don't mind a short drive, maybe the Greenville location next time. I had lunch at OJ's Restaurant in Easley, SC today. It's probably some of the best "Southern Cooking" I've had since childhood. No, it's not perfect, but what I had was quite good. My meal was fried chicken, fried okra, turnip greens, butter beans and a biscuit, plus sweet tea. I rate all of those as five stars. I asked a waitress about the apple cobbler and she was nice enough to bring me a sample, but I didn't like it. It had an extremely overly-sweetened gooey sauce with very thin unflavorful pieces of cobbler and not enough apple. The spices were also unusual. They should use sugar, cinnamon, and butter only. Why do cooks try to change a classic like apple cobbler? I would rate it a C at best. I will return whenever I have time, but will not get any of the cobblers because I suspect they may all follow the same formula. I'll try different vegetables and unsweet tea next time to see if they're consistently good. I may try the chocolate cake, too. It's not a fancy place and it was a bit tricky to find, but it's worth a try if you want classic "Southern Cooking." read more

I found them expensive, I ordered a meat and 2, it was $8.72. the cashier was friendly and welcoming. The food was luke warm. Hot food is supposed to be HOT, not lamp heated. The food was tasteless, bland. I have had better food at hospital cafeterias. I will not return to this location and will frequent the one in Greenville. read more

OJ's has good food at a good price. If you like good calf liver you need to visit on Wednesday. Is available with onions and gravy. Tender and cooked just right. Also has a great selection of vegetables to pick from. If real hungry they have several desserts to pick from also. read more

My favorite southern home cooking spot in Easley! I love their chicken pot pie on thursdays and baked spaghetti on Wednesdays. Their banana pudding is so delicious, it'll make you wanna slap your mama!!! The service is always up to par and their sweet tea so sweet you may need some insulin afterwards. I love this place so much. Usually go at least once or twice weekly on my lunch breaks. :) read more

Food was just so so. Staff was friendly. They put some over powering spice in sweet potato soufflé that made it awful. The turkey was okay but dry. The dressing like the soufflé had a strong spice. It was mushy. The cabbage was the only good thing. read more

A friend and I eat there often. This is the best meat and three place, in my opinion, that there is available. I have eaten their chicken cooked all different ways and all types of there vegetables. This is truly home cooking just like my grandmother cooked. If you have a low tolerance to MSG, as I do, then don't worry as they don't use any of it in any of their food. And the price cannot be beat. The service, well, they treat you like family. I am hesitant to tell you how good they are because the line is long enough already!
