We were right next door to the main Fulton Center station, down the street from the World Trade Center and around the corner from Wall Street. My son lived here for one semester. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially for the…read moreamount of money they charge. First of all, upon arrival in September, the room was filthy. Disgusting, really. It was not cleaned at ALL. The bathroom was dirty and hair clogged the shower drain, there was crud all over the floor, old FOOD in the refrigerator, etc. This was a Friday evening. The situation was not resolved until they brought cleaners in Sunday evening, so we had to pay for 2 nights in a hotel and move in on Monday. The room was only slightly better on that day though, and we still had to buy cleaning products and scrub it down. My son informed them of all of this verbally and in a survey sent to him, but no compensation (or even an apology) was offered by EHS. Moreover, there were significant privacy and security issues. After completely moving in, a painter was let into my son's room while he was at school. All of his stuff which had just been moved in and set up was piled into the middle of the room and they painted around it -- then left the door OPEN when they were done. He returned to find his expensive camera and computer equipment in an unsecured room. Shortly after that, an RA let themself into his room (without even knocking), thinking he wasn't there. When asked why, there was no reason. This happened several times when he wasn't there (caught on camera) and was quite concerning. RA's should not be letting themselves into student's rooms. That kind of violation can't be undone. My son stayed with friends most of the semester as he didn't feel safe there, and we ultimately wasted a lot of money. Couldn't wait to get him out of there! NOTE for NYU students: The reason we applied to EHS was to get a single, which is hard to come by in NYU dorms. However, because NYU has a large portion of the Clark wing at St. George Towers, I was told by EHS that all NYU students must book through NYU's housing office. I was told this AFTER the NYU housing application deadline, even though we had stated my son went to NYU on the form weeks prior. So that left us in a lurch for housing. NYU ultimately made an exception after they heard what EHS had done to us. The whole process was exasperating and, in hindsight, I realized we could've literally put our son up in a lower-priced hotel for the same amount of time with far less stress for all of us. *I'm giving a second star on my review only because the view from the room was lovely and the building itself has a wonderful history. Also, the neighborhood is great and it's convenient to the subway.

But Hub truly does not uphold the reputation of the management company. A flood from an upper-floor unit led to my walls being ripped open, my belongings being tossed around carelessly (including paint getting on two designer bags), and my washer being disconnected with wet clothes inside. I have been sleeping on my couch for a week, yet management is ignoring my emails and follows up and refuses to provide prompt updates or timelines for the remaining repairs. On top of that, I returned home to find someone had used my toilet and left it unflushed, and a pair of my designer shoes are now missing. Mind you, I requested video footage to get to the bottom of the missing shoes, but I was told there are no cameras in the hallway. There is no security system between the front door and elevators and they use analog keys for entry into the apartment. You can basically come in from the street and enter an unlocked apartment unchecked and you won't be recorded in the hallway. This is such a crazy security gap and it truly is unacceptable. I do not feel safe here. I also had industrial machines in my unit running up my bill. I have emailed and called repeatedly, but the responsiveness of management is so unacceptable. This is unacceptable for a luxury building charging premium rent. The apartment I lived in was large (esp for NY standards) with nice appliances and the building is also very well taken care of. There were some more minor issues moving in and throughout my time living in the building but we found the management team to be responsive and helpful - Sandy was our main contact and was incredibly helpful when we had questions or needed something fixed. The building is located in a great part in Williamsburg and is as close as you're going to get to the Lorimer L / Metropolitan G stop which is really amazing for commuting into Manhattan or getting around Brooklyn. The building is a great size (only ~20ish units) so it felt more like home and personal for my boyfriend and I. We would definitely recommend this building for anyone looking to move into Williamsburg/Brooklyn and would definitely rent with LHR Group again!

I only was going to stay for one month but I ended up extending my stay several times and ended up staying all the way till February 2022. I'm a student so I couldn't afford to stay any longer than that but I think it's well worth the price. It was so nice to not have to worry about cooking (although if you're a picky eater you might have some issues), and the location makes it so easy to get around. The staff are all very kind and the rooms are clean, the only thing that was kinda iffy was that they just kinda paint over all the furniture over and over again? Like my dresser was originally metal but they slapped so many layers of white paint on it that the drawers wouldn't open so I only used the top drawers. It's a very minor problem compared to everything else though!! Being able to get free coffee every day, having wifi included in the rent, the movie room, rooftop etc is well worth the price! It's also very safe with the security. I also got lucky enough to be on the 13th floor so the views were awesome :) Definitely recommend staying here!

The building is solid construction, it's quiet, our kitchen is beautiful and new, there's a new gym in the building, and the common areas are nice. The leasing agents are pleasant, on-point, and extremely easy to interact with. Location is extremely convenient. It's next door to Trader Joes, Target, the DeKalb food market, and an express subway station. The only downside is the surrounding area can get noisy, not too bad though. Closing the windows usually keeps the noise out and if not, the central air fan does the trick.

I originally signed an 11-month lease in August 2025 for apartment #21D ($4000/month). I…read moreunfortunately had to leave my lease (without penalty) in October 2025, and moved out a month later in November. This was because one of the tenants on the A-J side of the floor would SMOKE INDOORS (marijuana, cigars, cigarettes, etc.) nearly every single day, if not multiple times a day, and the strong smoke smell would fill not only the entire hallway, but also come through the bathroom vent into my unit. I would wake up in the middle of the night from the odor and call the front desk each time to have it confirmed real-time by security/management staff. It was nauseating, frustrating, and definitely an environment I was unhappy living in. Not only was this a breach in the Smoke-Free Rider of the lease agreement, but also violated New York habitability laws. One night it got so bad that I called 311, breaking down crying because all I could smell was pungent marijuana air in the middle of working remotely in my living room... they told me that since the smell was coming from inside another unit, I needed to contact City Tower directly, which is what I had already been doing. Despite consistently emailing management (Elvis Perashi & Liz Reynolds) for two months straight, they continued to dismiss my concerns about not having a smoke-free environment, refused to offer any alternate housing options, saying that they were "working hard to locate the source" (even though it was blatantly obvious it was coming from the neighboring unit adjacent to the bathroom vent). They continued to brush me off, UNTIL I consulted an attorney recommended by MetLife legal insurance (lawyer immediately accepted my case because of how bad my living conditions continued to be, and I thankfully didn't have to pay anything out of pocket). That's when they FINALLY took me seriously and offered 2 alternate studio options or the ability to break my lease without penalty, which was what I had been asking for the entire time. However, at first, they not only ignored my persistent requests to switch units, but also after I finally spoke to them in-person, they stated there were only studio units available the following month, and they were unsure if I'd be allowed to switch units solely for the reason of "we don't allow downgrades, only upgrades where you pay more." Evidently, they only care about earning more money, not their tenants' quality of life. As a non-smoker, my quality of life was negatively impacted, including an increase in headaches from secondhand smoke, as well as dreading the walk to my unit while holding my breath. Opening the window was not a comfortable solution; low evening temperatures and winds would make my unit cold at night, thus inconvenient to fall asleep. I even had to purchase an air purifier to help with the smell and attempt to preserve my health. I should NOT have paid $4000/month plus utilities for a place that didn't immediately confront the smokers in a smoke-free building. Elvis Perashi & Liz Reynolds only sent out an email to the 21st floor 'kindly reminding' tenants about the no-smoking policy after I had complained every day for a month, and requested this email to be sent. The email was ignored and the smoking continued to come through the bathroom vent. Management eventually figured out and confirmed the source but it should NOT have taken this much time and tomfoolery. Who knows, if something like this happens again will they actually take action/provide alternate housing or let it go on for as long as possible until contacted by legal services? I stopped by to the 18th floor leasing office in-person several times because I my emails back and forth were not resulting in any progress - I would recommend doing this if you want them to take you seriously about ANY issues. City Tower management will brush you off and delay any potential mitigations or solutions if you only contact them via email. For the most part, tenants here are not very friendly (ESPECIALLY those on the 21st floor, they won't even acknowledge you or smile back)... there was also a minor pest issue in 21D where little black bugs would come out of the unsealed cracks in the floor/walls every week or so. When I moved in, there was also cracked appliances (refrigerator shelving) from the previous tenant, which I never bothered to bring up but it's definitely something to consider in terms of quality. Other than that, some of the pros are the lounge area (except during winter months when all the plants outside die and the indoor area becomes crowded). Additionally, Augusto, Ed, and Daniel were standout security staff that made the few months I lived here more bearable. Overall wouldn't recommend living here; it's not worth the headache and price tag. Protip: if you do decide to inquire with them, negotiate! They originally offered me $4050 for 1 year, and I think I could've gotten $3900 or $3950 (instead of $4000) if I kept asking.
