I've been a tenant at BBS 362 since right after they opened the doors. I started with a small space, and moved to a larger one in the same building. I feel lucky to have this space, and have had a great experience with BBS both in terms of my space and the attitude of the landlords/management. BBS specializes in studios for small businesses, and in my opinion, offer a really great option for people looking for a combination of professional space and studio, or starter space. (My building has smaller spaces, but their other buildings may have more large spaces - not sure) The buildings are 24-hour, clean, well lit, secure (camera monitor in the halls and outside) and well-maintained. Buildings also have a door attendant on staff 9-5 weekdays, which is especially great if you receive or send packages. I can't say enough good things about the landlords. They're really professional, accommodating people, who also run a tight ship with care; They keep things interesting with studio meet-up evenings and events on occasion. Recently, they added a new conference room to my building; complete with a monitor for large presentations...they're constantly upgrading and making improvements. Really can't say enough good things. These people are doing right by artists and small businesses, and it's fantastic. If you're an artist/entrepreneur looking for space, give them a try. read more

I came to see BBS because of the amenities advertised, such as free wi-fi, central A/C and heat, kitchen, freight elevator, 24/7 access. Plus it is easy access from Manhattan. Jahany showed me a space that seemed right for my size and budget requirements. She was very professional, and very nice and also an ON-SITE manager, so cool. I got such good vibes that I trusted instinct and signed a lease on the spot. Now that I've moved in I find that there's much more to love. The whole staff is competent, hard-working, respectful, and friendly. AND there are events, programs, visiting artists and an open-door for any art-related info or help, all organized by...an on-site curator. I know, now you think I'm lying. In addition to being a fabulous "Art Engineer" as he likes to say, Martin is also a talented artist himself. The two principals, remarkably, are very accessible to us. Raphael, the engineer of the duo, is originally from Mt. Olympus, but has come come to earth just to help out struggling artists. (Where else do you find a landlord knocking on your door to ask how THEY are doing? And then listen to you if you have a request or suggestion.) I have been a member of the Brooklyn Brush Studios for over six years. I started when BBS was at 44 Stewart Ave in 2008/09 and then I moved into the new space in January of 2014. Rafael & Raul & Martin & Company are simply the best management! I never want to leave! I am a writer, tutor, and online educator. Through my time working at BBS, I have written fiction and criticism as well as built my tutoring company Griffin Prep. It's really a beautiful community of painters, writers, graphic artists, importer/exporters, candlemakers, jewelry makers, neon makers, video editors, small businesspeople, etc, and the arts space and all the events really help create a sense of community. Martin, the arts and events director, is a master of curation and community building! Bushwick Open Studios is always a terrific event here. BBS is always clean. It's so well maintained. It's quiet. There's a great kitchen. The stairs were just re-painted the other day... Full time (business hours) mail and package service. Easy to use freight elevator... Great neighborhood. b[x] was my studio and second home for over 5 years. I ended up leaving due to external circumstances, and it was SO sad and emotional because I would have stayed there forever. The staff and other members are amazing, and really made me feel safe and comfortable. I have made life-long friends at b[x], and will go back to visit often. They have events pretty frequently, and my studio also hosted big AR art shows in their gallery space several times, which were super successful and amazing! One of the best parts of being at b[x] is being able to participate in Bushwick Open Studios. Since it's a huge building in a busy part of Bushwick, we would get tons of people walking through and interacting with our art. I made so many connections, sold work, and even got jobs through BOS. I rented a small/medium sized studio with a window and a loft which had space for two desks and a sofa chair. It was really comfortable, homey, and private... which is good for getting in a creative zone. It was also very affordable. So sad that I'm not there anymore, but looking forward to being a member again sometime in the future! :) read more

Brooklyn Brush Studios is a fantastic place for both artists and small startup businesses. I have had a studio in the Jefferson building for more than two years and have always been satisfied. The spaces are clean, washed, newly painted when you move in. The hallways and restrooms are always clean and well kept up. There's central air in the summer and pleasant temperatures in the winter. Everyone is very friendly, JJ, the building manager, goes out of her way to be helpful. There are three locations to Brookyln Brush Studios, if you are an artist working on larger works perhaps the Harrison Place spaces would be more to your liking. I am only familiar with the Jefferson Building which was a little more than half a block from the "L" train. Very convenient. Why did I move out? I got a chance for a larger studio that was within walking distance to my home.....hard to beat. But I will never forget that great times I spent on the third floor. This review is about 6 months overdue, but it's about writing it that matters. You never realize how good you have something until it is gone. I rented a ~100sqft studio from Brooklyn Brush for about 6 months. It was a great place to rent for my small digitization business. The staff was always so kind and responsive to any request/question I had, the entire building was exceptionally well cared for, and the rental rate was also great. The move in process was professional but easy and paying rent online was also really convenient. I relocated my studio closer to home, but it has been for the worse since day one, and I would come back to BB in a heartbeat. Brooklyn Brush really is a gem. Especially if you're interested in meeting other creatives as they have get togethers and a small gallery for new work. I highly recommend BB to artists looking for a new studio space! read more

The Brooklyn Brush Studios are clean, well thought out and beautifully maintained work spaces in Bushwick, Brooklyn. They are conveniently located close to the L train stop at Jefferson. The neighborhood feels safe even late at night and the managers/landlords/creators of the space have installed security cameras throughout the facility. There are many amenities nearby. The spaces are well lit and thoughtfully constructed. There is a conference room, kitchen, slop sink area, freight elevator, free wifi and well maintained bathrooms. There is a manager who collects mail and packages. Those who run the space are always available for conversation and to deal with any issues or ideas the tenants may have. It is a serious and comfortable work environment and one in which I have been enormously productive. read more

I am a freelance graphic designer and painter and have been a member of BBS 362 (Jefferson location) for about 8 months. The management is really on top of things: the common areas/kitchen/bathrooms are always clean, any issue is resolved efficiently and with a smile, and there is someone available to sign for packages during business hours, which is extremely helpful. The studios have thick walls so you don't have to worry about bothering your neighbor and many of the rooms have ample sunlight/big windows. BBS management works hard to create a supportive art community, and they host fun events like member mixers and draw + drink. I plan on staying here for awhile! read more

Where do I even begin.. this place is incredibly fucking awesome!! I've been a member for about a year and a half. I absolutely adore my space it's quiet and tranquil I can concentrate and get creative. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners In one of the many events they have. The manager Jillyan she is dedicated attentive and gets the job done accordingly mind you she's the only manager. what more can a fellow creative ask for? BBS is the perfect home away from home for your studio or work space. Convenient location, great price, full amenities and the staff is super helpful, not to mention really nice. Everyone I've met has been friendly and open, even while serious about their work. BBS offers events and gallery space where you can mingle, meet other members and get new ideas for your own work. I rented two studios at two different time frames at b[x] space. The management is fabulous with attending to your needs. They are constantly available through phone, text and in person. I created some of my best works in these studios and met really interesting creatives in this building. Hands down the best studio space in Brooklyn. Having been a tenant in two of the b[x] locations, I can say that anyone would be hard pressed to find a better place. There is convenient transportation only a block away, management is attentive and very responsive, and the facilities are spotlessly clean. We were very sad to leave b[x] and only did due needing a bigger space. Whether you are an artist or have a small business, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend b[x]. read more

This place is great. I love this space. It is always kept very clean. There is always a variety of different art shows and events going on. Great community to be apart of. There are photographers, painters, production companies and many more creative types. I even get my packages delivered to BBS with there great concierge service. I've been a member at BBS on Jefferson St. for 3 years, and the experience has been fantastic. Management really cares about your specific needs, and are incredibly helpful. The facility is clean, and very well maintained. They host communal members events and opens often so it is a great way to meet and network with fellow members. Me and my business partner decided to rent from BBS because the space was cheap, but it ended up being a total godsend. We rented for about a year before moving for a new employer. Rafael, the owner, cares so much about people being happy with the space. He constantly went out of his way to make sure that we were satisfied.
